Losing Weight and Burning Calories

In writing, I weighed 74.38 kg. Call me lazy, but I didn't particularly appreciate physical activity engagement. All I wanted to do in my daily life was to lay in my bed or to write and study in my workplace without doing physical activities. This laziness has just started due to the pandemic, and I can say that my daily activities got limited. Meaning to say, I didn't burn many calories, and I'm just staying at home while eating a lot.

After I realized that I was getting overweight and needed to take immediate action to control it, I gathered inspiration first from those guys I saw on TikTok. They look so God damn fine with the product of their hard work, but I'm honestly not looking forward to building abs and muscles to impress someone. All I want is to lose weight and look decently. Not impressive to like me too, but I want to look neat and presentable.

I remember when I was a teenager, I did these things which helped me to lose weight:

  • Skipping breakfast and doing brunch

  • Skipping snacks (most of the time)

  • Walking for about fifteen minutes back and forth

  • Reducing my food intake

  • Just Dance (most of the time)

  • Drinking Water


Now that I'm already a young adult, I decided to implement some of the tricks I have mentioned again for me to lose weight. I did some trial and error first on how will I cope with this challenge depending on my environment, and with the help of self-help books, of course. After I published this article, I promised myself that I could visibly see the final results in a month. Without further ado, let's get started.

Just Dance

I've been working out for this activity for over a week, and I'm glad that it aids me in recovering an average of 400 calories in just an hour. I'm using either my HeyTap health or Google Fit to track my workout activity. I will be writing another article for this, so stay tuned. Doing this performance if I am the only one in the room is enjoyable because I have the confidence to dance in the extreme while catching points when the system detects that I made the right move. I have fun since the dance steps are easy to follow (on some songs), and I'm satisfied every time I see that I have burned more than I expected.

Only Eating Bread and Hot Drink at Breakfast

Fortunately, my mother is not cooking rice anymore every breakfast after I made her realize that I am doing exercise. After laying on my bed for an hour while watching TikTok videos, I am starting my Just Dance routine to burn at least 400 calories every hour. I will pause dancing every time my nosy younger brother was around. And every time they will visit my grandmother, I prefer to dance for an hour and thirty minutes, where I can burn 700 calories and up in just a day. I'll rest for five minutes, then be ready to resume again.

Stopping on stocking snacks

Back then, I liked to buy milk packed in tetra and a pack of chocolate cookies. It wrecked my diet before, and I thought I bought it because I wanted to inspire myself from hustling. Honestly, it didn't work, and I decided to use that money to buy my self-care products. I read something that banning food you like will make you think that you are craving it for more. All I want to stop consuming unnecessary foods is to make them invisible to my eyes.

Eating less compared before

If I ate a lot before, those things must be changed. So far, I have changed how I eat rice, and I'm also raising my voice to my mother whenever she puts too much rice on my plate at dinner. When she demanded me to do some diet, she always put foods I knew that would make me fat. It's not about disrespecting her, but I'm just reminding her that I don't need her temptation to deviate from my goals.

Drinking cold water

Drinking plenty of cold water helps me decrease my appetite and control my temperature after my workout. And next time we go to the market, I assure you that I will buy lemons for a better experience. I believe substituting lemon water with regular water has more benefits than usual.

Haha weight issue din ako, I also tried running yet ended rashes in my body, kaya I stopped muna kasi nga harvest time ng palay and ang kati tlaga. wow keep that goal, but breakfast is a must uy you are still studying remember much more to focus.

I lose weight when I drank a weight-loss coffee. But I stopped as soon as I reached my weight goal and maintained it by doing some exercise and proper diet.

The journey of weight loss is not easy. It may be stressful and you may feel like you want to back off but if you don't, you will realize at the end of the day that you are healthy and you love your physique. Keep it up!!!
