Yes, today is Sunday. I already published an article about our usual Sunday a week ago but today's Sunday was different. After a year, since the pandemic, although we weren't able to go outing to a beach resort just like what we usually do, we were able to go swimming even just on a pool.
Be warned. This is another article about my personal life. Hope you'll find it interesting to read. :)
It was my brother-in-law's mom's birthday last March 25 and we decided to celebrate it today with the whole family plus the extended family. Usually, we go outing for a 2-3 days out of town on any beach resort nearby the province but then, with all the health restrictions, health protocols and for our own safety, we decided to just rent a private resort around the city for a day so that we can still go swimming like what we always do.
It was celebrated this Sunday since adults are working from Monday-Saturday and me and the kids are studying during weekdays.
The time we have for renting the resort is at 10 am-5 pm. This is already quite a long time, but since it's not overnight, we make sure to make the most out of it on that limited time that we have.
I woke up at 8 am, we had our breakfast, and since it's Sunday, we watched our online worship service first before going to the resort. Of course, God comes first even versus family gathering.
We arrived at slightly past 10 am at our store, our meeting place, to get the foods so that we could bring it to the resort.
It's already almost 11 am when we arrived at the resort. And soon, the others already arrived at the venue too.
Since it's almost lunch time already, we had our early lunch first. But before that, we make sure to pray for the birthday celebrant, declare more blessings to come for her, sang her a birthday song, and we prayed for God's blessings for the foods that we are going to eat.
Me and my other two silly cousins fool around first by rubbing the cake icing on each others face before we actually eat lol.
Lunch is done and it's swimming time! Look at how Mr. Sunny is shining so brightly eh. But it won't stop our excitement. We beat the heat! (It burned our skin though haha)
But before we focus on just enjoying the water, to add to the excitement, Ate and Kuya prepared games for us to enjoy. They also prepared cash prize so you can imagine how eager we are to win the game. (We're talking about money eh, of course we want to win. lol)
So here are the games that we played:
First game was an individual game. I don't know how is that called so let me just explain it to you. We were lined up at the side of the pool. Ate and Kuya will ask us a question. Actually they are giving us category like "mention a name that starts with letter C", so we will then give names that starts with letter C. We are giving it one by one, according to line, the the first one who ran out of names or answer will be pushed to the pool, and that means he's eliminated from the game already. When someone has been eliminated, another category will be given and the process is still the same until the last man standing will be the winner.
Next was a game for teams. We were divided into two groups. We have to fall in line at the end of the pool, then at the other end of the pool is an empty basin. We have given five minutes to go there one by one and fill the basin with water coming from our body or whatever we are wearing. After the time, the team who have more water on the basin will win. And yes, we won in this game. We filled the basin with water!
Last game was individual again. They throw so many coins at the water. If we get a coin, then it's ours already. But the twist is, if we get a 25 centavo coin, they will exchange it for $2. So the real deal here is the 25 centavo coin eh. There are a lot of coins but 25 centavo coins was only 5 pieces. And luckily I got one. Plus I think I was able to get worth $1 from the other coins.
Games was done! And it was officially swimming time. As for me and my closest cousins, we just hang out around the pool. Swam from here to there. Swam until we're tired, then we'll stop and rest, then swim again. We just literally swam and swam.
When we're already hungry, there's a buffet table out there so we had some snacks before going back to swimming again.
Kuya decided to have another game again. So we were again divided into two teams. The leader will go to the end of the pool while the members stay at the other end. The leader will then fetch one of his team member to the other end of the people. When they already reach the other end of the pool, they will go back to the other end again to fetch another team member. We have to repeat that until all of the members were able to go to the other end.
The game was fun but sadly, we stopped it because a member of our team drowned in the water because it's kinda deep and he can't swim and he can't also reach the ground. (Don't worry. He's okay. hehe)
Swimming continues until it's time to go home.
Above is a photo after we were done swimming and the adults are cleaning our things and we were just waiting for them to go home.
Look at them all tired and hungry eh. Haha
It was indeed a Sunday Fun Family Day. I did enjoy the whole day. It eases my stress from my studies and everything that is happening with my life and around me.
Family is one of the best companion.
I enjoyed so much and I also enjoyed sharing this to you. Hope you also enjoy reading this article! You can also share your experiences with your family in the comment section.
Thank you so much for reading! May God bless you and your whole family. :))
