Due to Covid-19 our family reunions and gatherings was rescheduled and after years of waiting , finally we we're able to hold the event last July 22.

An Aunt from the Land down under went home after 3 years , a cousin from New York after 9 long years was able to make it too. Another cousin from NY too after 4 years , a cousin from Canada and another Aunt from UAE. Some relatives from other parts of the world did'nt make it coz of their prior schedule .

The Event

Our mini Reunion was held at Mcdonalds. Originally all of us agreed to hold the event at Jollibee , lol! Coz they misses the food from the bees but Jollybee is really such a busy bee he can't accomodate us. No slot available for us. Kids and kids at heart still pushes to have some fun and so we ended up at Mcdonalds.

The feeling of being reunited to your love ones brings such happiness that somehow fill your heart with blissful excitement. Anxieties and longiness that arises due to pandemic magically vanishes as we started catching up for the lost years.

There's a little bit of reminiscing the recent pandemic and how we were able to survived and given a second life. My whole family suffered from it last year. Two of my cousins in NY also acquired the virus coz one of them is a Theraphy Nurse and another is a Dental Assistant. Both in the medical fields and both are expose and at high risk in their respective jobs. Tears are flowing as we emotionally tell our stories. But it was such a relieving moment that we were able to hugged each other again after long years. And yes we survived the sickness and quite sad for the lost of some of our relatives due to it.

While the kids are busy playing at the play area , teens are busy catching up too. They were just little kids the last time they saw each other.

Now they are all teens and young adults. They even happily reenacted their photos from years back. They can't get enough of themselves they even continued their get together and had a sleepover together at my aunts condo.

Aside from the catching up. Giving of pasalubong was also the fun part. And whom are the happiest but us who resides here in the Philippines. Hahaha! Oh! How we love unboxing of gifts huh! It was really fun seeing all of them once again.

But as the party ends , saying goodbyes was such a sad part you dont want to utter it but just say " see you again".

Bye for now

As we are packing our things as the allowed time for us to spend in the place is about to end. We are bidding each other goodbyes and the joy we have felt seeing them are now replace with sadness again. But this time with higher hopes that separation this time won't be that long and we will see each other again next year.

They are families that supported us wholeheartedly when we got sick ,sending money for our medical expenses during that time. Calling and checking upon us day and night if we are doing good. Telling us what to do , what to eat and praying for our fast recovery. Telling us to fight the sickness and don't give in to panic, stress and depression catalyzed by the disease.

Even though they are living from different sides of the world , family ties are so strong distance is not a cause to break it. Ahhhh, saying goodbyes are really sad we could'nt hold our tears back. But for now as we parted ways all we could say is " see you again". We need to say goodbye today so we could say hello again tomorrow.
