The Mind or the Heart?
The students are faced with a situation for them to analyze.
Situation:
Violet Jones is a manager at the Intestinal Distress Tacos fast food restaurant. She has noticed that the taco shells are disappearing at a faster rate than the sales. There are some ways that Violet can investigate the missing taco shells. Violet does not have the time in her business managerial schedule to spend a long time investigating the taco shell mystery. She is losing money daily and must fire the individual responsible. She has relied on her intuition in the past, and it has successfully rewarded her into management positions. She uses patterns of behavior, cues, and body language.
Students are to formulate an intuitive decision/conclusion from the situation above.
Student 1: For Violet to solve this case, she must undertake these series of decisions. Because she doesn't have the luxury to spend a long time to investigate, I have devised a series of investigatory cues that can be done in one day. First step is to check the schedule of her workers. She must see who are the people involved in the delivery, storage, preparation, and distribution of the taco shells. If done, the second step is to check the number of taco shells as they go through each stage. If done correctly, she must be able to see where the taco shells' number is dropping, for different figures will show in the log. She then can narrow the culprit down by investigating the people working in that certain process. There will be problems such as having consistent figures in the log, in that case, the culprit must reside within the middle management whom oversee each process for they are the only ones who can access the logs. Other scenarios might will be easy to tackle upon considering Violet's experience in the job.
Student 2: From the case given above, clearly shows that one of her employees is stealing their produce. Violet believes an employee has stolen from her company, and she needs solid evidence of the theft. Depending on the seriousness of the theft, she may find it necessary to temporarily suspend an employee while an investigation is conducted, but she cannot fire an employee simply based on suspicion. So of course for her, she needs to gather evidence like video and digital evidence which are strong. Questioning a witness or every employee would be also appropriate. When all evidence is gathered, the rest is up to her to decide.
Student 3: Violet Jones decided to observe all her employees' behavior patterns to find the culprit. Upon observing, she noticed that Kiefer, his chef has been acting strange. Her instincts tell her that Kiefer might be the taco shells thief since he has the most access in the food storage. Furthermore, the chef always spends a long break and disappears. Thus, Violet concluded that he is consuming the taco shells during those times.
Who among the 3 students followed the instructions?
Student 1 and 2 were thinking strategically. They both formulated plans that would utilize steps to be able to gain evidences and solve the problem eventually. Strategic thinking is used when all aspects of the situation are laid at hand and your job is to use those facts to come up with a strategy to solve problem. Therefore, time is a very important consideration when using strategic analysis. Although, both students were able to come up with brilliant plans, they failed to consider the use of intuition in their analysis which the instruction clearly states.
Student 3 on the other hand, was more intuitive although she tried to present her answer in the form of a possible scenario that could happen when intuition is used. Intuitive thinking is usually used when very limited to no facts were presented so consequences are also not clear. This strategy requires the use of intuition or gut feeling in solving a situation. Thus, it does not require a considerable amount of time to be able to solve a problem using this because it is used at the spur of the moment for an immediate result.
In conclusion, in whatever situation we face, it is very important to be able to use both mind and heart in dealing with them. We could be all rational but the heart could also give considerable advise that could help in solving a problem.
Summer Heat Races with Bitcoin Cash
Weather forecast today records 28°C. It is even higher in the capital of the country. It is 33°C there today. The temperature may not be that high but people in my region are not used to such heat. Well, our region is regarded as the summer capital of the country because it is supposed to be the coolest part during the summer season. Unfortunately, these few days, that is not the case. The lowest recorded temperature in my region was 6.3 degrees Celsius on January 18, 1961. This is in contrast to the all-time high of 30.4 degrees Celsius recorded on March 15, 1988 during the 1988 El Niño season.
It is really hot these days and various ways of beating the heat are sought after. Before the world health crisis, people would go for water activities such as, snorkeling, diving, swimming and many more. Some, would go travelling to beautiful places and others would indulge into summer heat foods and beverages.
Along with the summer heat is BCH rising to the top. 1 BCH is playing between 65,516.66 and 67,014.57 pesos which was just about 24K pesos a few weeks ago.
Photo above shows the rate at 3:36AM while the next photo shows the rate at 7:24 AM. Well, it is understandable as it is really volatile.
My friend said that it is not a good day to buy some BCH. Best time is when the exchange is low which was actually the case a few week or so ago. However, looking at how it ascended, I think it is less likely for it to go down. This is only based on my hunches because we know that anything is possible with cryptocurrencies.
While writing this, I checked the rates again and this came out. It is getting colder now unlike a few hours ago but BCH has no plans to cool down at the moment. It seems to want to go even higher.
Thus, I tried to research on when would be the best time to buy. **Tim Falk (2021)** gave some advise and here they are:
**What could drive Bitcoin Cash’s growth?**
**Scalability problems with bitcoin.** Bitcoin Cash was created to offer an alternative to bitcoin’s increasing transaction wait times and fees. If these scalability issues continue to create problems for bitcoin, this could be good news for Bitcoin Cash.
**Miners shifting from BTC to BCH.** Bitcoin Cash is much more lucrative for miners than bitcoin, so if this prompts more miners to switch from BTC to BCH then this could lead to further growth for BCH.
**Links with bitcoin.** BCH’s shared history with bitcoin means it’s closely linked with the biggest cryptocurrency in the world. This creates trust with investors and also suggests that this is a coin built on a strong platform.
**Supply.** Just like bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash has a total supply of 21 million. According to CoinMarketCap, at the time of writing (16/02/2018) there were 16,969,825 BCH in circulation. Consider the impact this limited supply could have on the coin’s value before you buy.
**Availability.** BCH is listed on a wide range of exchanges and also supported by several crypto wallets. This ease of access gives the coin credibility and is an important factor when determining the demand for a currency. You can also find a list of sites and merchants that accept Bitcoin Cash at the **Accept Bitcoin Cash Initiative**. https://acceptbitcoin.cash/
He went on with the following:
**What could hold Bitcoin Cash back?**
**Bitcoin’s dominance.** Bitcoin is easily the world’s biggest cryptocurrency and is very well established. Bitcoin Cash is a direct competitor, so if you expect Bitcoin to continue its market dominance then this could potentially have a negative impact on BCH.
**Other competitors.** BCH and BTC are far from the only two digital currencies designed to act as peer-to-peer electronic cash, with some even offering lower fees and faster transactions than BCH. As a result, competition from other coins could potentially limit the uptake of Bitcoin Cash.
**Lack of adoption.** Just like any other crypto coin, the value of BCH will be influenced by the level of adoption cryptocurrencies achieve among the wider community.
**Mining centralization.** Some BCH critics have pointed to the centralisation of BCH mining as one of the key drawbacks for a project that aims to create a decentralised cryptocurrency.

There are still a lot of things to learn with Bitcoin Cash and cryptocurrencies as a whole. Learning more of it will make us wiser in making decisions as to whether we buy or sell and as to when would be the best time to do so.
As for me, I need to write more in this platform and hopefully be able to get more BCH. When the right time comes, I hope I would be able to share experiences on buying and selling BCH to fiat currency.
Ridding The Middle Man: Crypto Benefit
My daughter just celebrated her 11th birthday and as part of tradition, we had to prepare something on the table despite the adverse effects of the current world situation to the finances of a family like mine.
Thus, I went to the market to purchase what I needed for my pancit (believed to make life longer). I need to buy some beans, cabbage, carrots, celery, sweat peas, pancit bihon and the other ingredients. I headed straight to the vegetable section and bought what I needed.
*Rewind*. Before all those veggies reached my market basket, it had to go through some process. A farmer labors to plant, nurture, harvest and transport them to the market. Some days if not most days, this farmer would tighten the belt of the family's expenditures to be able to buy the seeds, pay for a rented land to plant on and buy the necessities for the plants to survive and thrive. After months and months of laborious work, he is now ready to transport the harvest to the market. This is where, a middle man is waiting to scrutinize, bargain and eventually DICTATE the price of the commodities he/she is buying. As there are many farmers who came in today with the same products, the middle man thought that the demand is low. Therefore, the poor farmer is left with no choice but to give in to the few pesos price placed on his veggies. Now, he has to think of ways on how to procure the needed materials for him to start planting again. Poor farmer.
The middle man on the other hand is filled with so much delight. He can actually triple the price now as he transfers it his clients in neighboring provinces such that in the capital of the country. He could also give it to small vendors in the market to be distributed to buyers like me. From the 5 peso per kilo of beans paid to the farmer, I had to buy a kilo at 50-70 pesos. Wonderful, ain't it?
Now, in relation to cryptocurrencies. One if not the greatest benefit users can get from using cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin Cash is the eradication of the middle man. Unlike traditional banking, cryptos do not require anyone to manage the users' transactions.
As a result, transactions via cryptos are SECURE, LIGHT SPEED AND CONVENIENT.
*Secure*. It is secure as personal data is protected because of the high anonymity level and no personal data is exposed during transaction. Financial history is also protected as it is digital and encrypted so it is harder to steal.
*Light Speed*. Transactions are so direct that no one would meddle in the middle avoiding all bureaucracy.
*Convenient*. Because there are no one in the middle, unnecessary fees for processing and all is eliminated. Users also get to become the managers of their own hard earned money. In traditional banking, users are bound to terms and conditions so that if the third party decides that the user violated the terms, they have all the right to freeze the account. Sad.
With this, I am really grateful I was introduced to this platform where I could learn more about cryptocurrencies.

Bitcoin Cash Crusade
Really? Someone is as passionate as this lady in spreading Bitcoin Cash awareness?
Today, I came across this video in YouTube where this lady is distributing leaflets to the people to spread awareness of BCH. This is the link if you find interest to watch it:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qkzJlqDFnRA
In a previous article I have written (**BCH THOUGHTS: realizations of an 'Aristotle' from great 'Socrateses'****),** I came to understand that Bitcoin Cash is a currency that aims to give us freedom in using our resources mainly because of its decentralization. Thus, it is something beneficial to us if we come to think of it properly. https://read.cash/@geeh/bch-thoughts-realizations-of-an-aristotle-from-great-socrateses-07edbcdb
However, in a simple test I did which I explained in my article **BCH in my small circle****,** I realized that the complete realization of this dream is still not in the near future in my country as many are still un informed or even misinformed about Bitcoin Cash (my data cannot speak for the whole country). https://read.cash/@geeh/bch-in-my-small-circle-e55ae313
With these, it can be understood that something should be done. It is not just something but a significant something should be done. Someone has to do something.
Upon seeing the video, I felt inspired but more of embarrassed.
**Embarrassment**
When I realized that something has to be done, I just felt it and did nothing. I thought that there is nothing much I could do because I am not even an expert in this. Many writers in this platform are actually very good at it and I believe they should be the ones to spread awareness. Maybe in the future when I am fully equipped then I could also do my part.
The video proved my claims wrong. She put all my thoughts, passions and desires into ACTION. While I just thought of it, she DID it. How shameful that is for me.
**Inspiration**
Who else could share it to my small circle if not me? Who else could let other people know if I simply keep quiet. When can the far future get nearer if I remain silent? This lady taught me a very good lesson today. It isn't new to me but I think I failed to put it into practice this time.
**MY GOALS**
TO GOSSIP: I will start sharing my knowledge may it be wide or limited to the people around me just like how my friend introduced this platform to me.
TO USE: I will use BCH when buying commodities (if possible).
My goals are still too limited as I only have two this time but I think I could start small and look forward to more later.
Thanks to all those people who continue to educate and inspire me in this platform:

@CryptoMax

The Genesis of WORDS
Before the making of my very first article here I called **WORDS****,** the only things I have written are essays asked by my professors. I had no choice but to make them for me to pass the subjects especially that I paid much for each of them. I always find it hard to put my ideas into words. I am more of a talker than a writer. Let me speak and I can tell you a lot but let me write? Nah... https://read.cash/@geeh/words-c40f3765
One time, the professor asked us to write articles that should be published in a local newspaper. Our grade would solely depend on whether or not the newspaper will publish our works. Publication in that section in the newspaper is free so they really screen the papers they publish each week. I remember myself crying for no words are coming out despite me facing the monitor for about an hour or so. I think I had ideas then but I don't really know which one of them would be considered acceptable for the newspaper company.
I started writing about a current issue but I undid everything I typed because I reached a dead end without even finishing it. Then I started to something about an emerging phenomenon in my society then. It is the chewing of betel quid.
It was February then so I named the article, "Let's Paint the World Red". I remembered a student who came to my door furious because someone from my class unintentionally spat on his shirt. It made a disgusting red mark at the shoulder part of his shirt. The one who gave the mark was a student seated at the back who was chewing betel quid.
Miraculously, my article was published that Sunday morning. So, I got a good mark from my professor. Going back to words, I struggled making that article and I never did anything like that again. I really thought I couldn't write. This is the same feeling I have every time I compose my pieces in this platform.
Thanks to people who give me some boost to continue doing what we do here (you know what I mean).
Photos are not mine. They are taken from google.

BCH in my small circle
Two days ago, I did a very simple survey to a group of senior high school students on their knowledge of cryptocurrencies as a whole and to Bitcoin cash particularly. I used a 4 point scale for the choices:
1- not aware at all
2-slightly aware
3-moderately aware
4-fully aware
They just had to choose from these choices and I did not plan to do any sophisticated statistical computation for the results. I only wanted to see how aware are they with the topic.
When I started using noise.cash (1 month or so) and read.cash (more than a week), I felt so embarrassed that I did not know anything about Bitcoin Cash or any cryptocurrency. I felt that I was so stupid and thought that I may be the only one. Perhaps because I am not so techy that I am left out in this matter or maybe I was just stupid (haha). So, I started reading articles written by brilliant writers in this platform like those whom I quoted in my very first article about BCH which I entitled **BCH THOUGHTS: realizations of an 'Aristotle' from great 'Socrateses'** . I was enlightened thanks to them. However, the question whether I am the only one not knowing anything about the matter or that I am stupid still lingers. Thus, I thought of asking a small group of people and so I conducted this survey. I did to only 1 group of students so the findings do not necessarily embody the whole population of their age group. Also, I only used percent in computing for the findings to make it even simpler. Again, I only wanted to know if I was the only one. https://read.cash/@geeh/bch-thoughts-realizations-of-an-aristotle-from-great-socrateses-07edbcdb
Here are the results:
From the 25 respondents, 18 which is 72% of the total population answered 1 wherein they are not in any way aware of BCH or cryptocurrencies as a whole. Four (4) are slightly aware, three (3) are moderately aware and none of them are fully aware. If we put together those who answered slightly and moderately aware under aware, that would be 7 which is just 28% of the total population. The 28% percent who are aware may also have a very limited knowledge about the topic like me.
With this, I came up with a conclusion that I was not the only one. On one hand, I was delighted to know that I am not stupid after all. On the other hand, I felt downhearted because the 72% from my simple survey may actually be the reality in my society. This only means that knowledge on BCH or cryptocurrencies is not really that established in my small community. I understand that there are a number of factors to such result and the 25 people do not really represent the whole population. Unfortunately, it is still sad to know that it may still take some time before people will become open to such idea of digital currency. The truth is, there are still many people who are skeptical about using technology in managing their money which is also because of the many flaws of third parties (which is why we should push for cryptocurrency). My friend for example just had a hard time paying for what she ordered online because her account is not enrolled for online banking. She said she will never apply for online banking because of a terrible experience in the past. Then I started talking about BCH to her. I told her that with BCH, she won't be having problems like what she experienced because transactions will be so direct and even a lot more convenient. She was willing to listen to my very crude discussion (I have a very limited knowledge too haha) but in the end, we just ended sighing because we realized that such convenience may still be possible in the far future.
Realization:
There is a need for people to be informed and educated on the benefits of digital currencies over the traditional banking for BCH or any cryptocurrency to become overtly used in a society. I guess, I need to start equipping myself so I could share it to others. It would really be nice to be able to enjoy the perks of it before I finally say goodbye to this life.
Thank you for reading and pardon me it was not well written. I am preoccupied with so many things these days (I know not a very good excuse).

BCH THOUGHTS: realizations of an 'Aristotle' from great 'Socrateses'
Let me begin by extending my gratitude to four (4) people I thought are my mentors in BCH if they would allow me to. They have incidentally became my guide in understanding what indeed is BCH. For these past few days, I have been reading the following articles:
a. **The Ultimate Beginner's Guide to Bitcoin Cash** by @Pantera https://read.cash/@Pantera/the-ultimate-beginners-guide-to-bitcoin-cash-b050829e
b. **3 Things that BCH is Making me Do!** by @CryptoBabe https://read.cash/@CryptoBabe/3-things-that-bch-is-making-me-do-c8c9765d
c. **1 Month on Read.Cash: What I Gave vs What I Received** by @CryptoMax https://read.cash/@CryptoMax/1-month-on-readcash-what-i-gave-vs-what-i-received-6f0d50bf
d. **Quality Articles about BCH: Recommended Must-Reads** **by** @ZerlinMorareng https://read.cash/@ZerlinMorareng/quality-articles-about-bch-recommended-must-reads-2d6159eb
They equally educated and inspired me to understand BCH. Anyhow, users of platforms such as read. cash should equip ourselves with significant knowledge about it. In the end, our main goal in joining is to gain more BCH.
Now, allow me to write here some of the things I learned about BHC. Please understand that the following are only based from how I understood what I have read.
First, Bitcoin Cash is a digital cash created to make paying and buying more convenient and reasonable. It can be described as:
decentralized where no government or agency can stop it from existing unlike unlike the usual banking.
trustless and permissible as a third party is taken out of the picture and gives absolute freedom for the user to control and do whatever pleases him to his hard earned money.
Thus, the objective of Bitcoin which is to improve Commerce with a verifiable payments mechanism that is not relying on trusting a third party to perform the requested actions as comprehensively discussed by @Pantera .
Second, Bitcoin cash teaches people to become more productive and be better users of precious time as creatively narrated by @CryptoBabe in her day recount of how the activity to earn Bitcoin cash made her set aside some trivial activities such as watching. Please do not misunderstand my use of the word trivial here. I am not referring to the term in general but only to the situation in her story. Also, I think it was a brilliant idea that instead of talking to neighbors about the lives of other people, she made BCH the topic instead. At least, her neighbors also learned from her. This is why I so love and am forever indebted to my good friend @ZerlinMorareng for introducing this platform to me. Instead of being idle browsing fb back and forth, I can even hone my skills in writing (if there is any) in this platform she introduced to me.
Third, Bitcoin cash gives inspiration. Well, this is very true in my case. When I started writing a week ago, I was half hearted for many reasons and one of which is I do not really know what I am doing here aside from the fact the I want to have BCH (a lot of it. I know we all do). However, I got so much inspiration and I think you will do to when I read the article of @CryptoMax . I was overwhelmed by his achievements in just a month. After reading, I told myself that I think I can do it do and I need to do it too.
**MY GOAL:**
I want to fully understand BCH and share to other people. I believe that whatever I have gained and will gain in the future, I owe it to this platform and so I am compelled to let other people know and experience what many successful read.cash users have experienced and are experiencing.
As you can see, my knowledge is still very limited but I think I am good for now because I have learned to equip myself and gain inspiration from other people.
I am an Aristotle still learning from the many Socrateses... Thank you for reading.
Trends...what is causing them?
In exactly 45 minutes, I will be having my series of classes. Now, I am taking this time to write what I am about to share to my students.
The lesson is on the emergence of trends and I am going to share to you some of the few points I realized about the lesson. Human beings according to David Mattin build trends based on man's basic needs and he tried to summarize them into -- connection, status and belief. As man by nature is a social animal according to Aristotle, connection becomes a basic need for him. Evidently, the trend is on people's connection to other beings as in social media, virtual dating apps and even virtual companions such as the Gatebox created in Japan serving as a virtual friend, aid and companion by any individual who has it. Trend predictions say that more inventions will be created or even in the making already to meet the demands of this human need.
The second basic need is status. This is focused on man's need to elevate himself in the desire of upgrading his capacities as a creature in the universe. Thus, he make himself a lab rat as seen in movies only years back. Now, inventions like the Electrospit Talkbox has been invented. The purpose of this invention is to make anybody become a potentially good singer. The gadget has to be wrapped around the neck and the voice can be manipulated by the person through something I would just call a remote control. In the near future, perhaps man can already put into reality those flying suits of Tony Stark in Iron Man. Whoah! Would I live that long to see with my own eyes?
Finally, man also needs to make better his beliefs. Here, he becomes like god and creates worlds on his own. He creates utopias where he could enjoy life without pain but only peace, order and satisfaction. Thus, he started making virtual worlds like in the game Fortnight which became a fad for some time. With his desire to escape the agony of reality, he creates virtual realities and calls them his own.
The next wave? well...who knows?
In the end, trends are just trends but it will still be up to man (you and me) to decide what to do and how to react on these emerging trends.
Death...an ugly word?
This morning, I awoke to a very sad news of the sudden passing of my friend's dad. I could only say comforting words which I am not really sure are indeed comforting to her. I could feel the she is in pain but I couldn't say how deep is the pain. I have never experienced the pain of losing a person very dear to me. In fact, every 1st or 2nd of November, I remember tagging myself along with my friends while they visit the resting place of their departed loved ones. I too have dead relatives of course but either none of them are too close to me or they are buried in the province so I cannot go and visit them every now and then.
While conversing with this friend, many big questions came to me. I just used to ask these questions to my students in Introduction to the Philosophy of the Human Person (I have to be specific here as I am not a philosophy major and neither are my students). Why is there death? Why is death something we would not really talk about in normal conversations? Why is it painful to lose someone we love? Are we ready to die? What happens to people depending on me if I die? These are just a few questions related to death. Now, I am asking them to myself in the hope of finding the most comforting words for her perhaps to lessen the anguish she is feeling at that moment.
There are many views about death and they are mostly dependent to the beliefs of every person. For Epicurus, death is the cessation of sensation. Could this mean that death is just physical death? Or when one stops seeing, hearing, talking and feeling which could happen even when one is physically breathing, can this be death? Is Epicurus saying that death is the end of it all? Then I guess I would just tell my friend that we should not feel bad about his passing because it ended his sensation along with all the pains and inflictions he may have. Would she be comforted?
Another way people use to comfort the grieving is on essence. The nihilist, essentialist and existentialist focus on this in understanding life and death. However, they see essence in different respects. The nihilist believes that life is meaningless and so death is the best escape to this meaninglessness. This is quite similar to how the great philosopher Plato sees the human body -- a cruel imprisonment where man can only be freed by death. Should I then tell my friend that his father is finally free? The essentialist however, believes that life is finding essence because each one has an essence. Man for this view is tasked to find his essence in his life. Finally, the existentialist believes that it is man's job not just to find but to create his own essence. Then maybe I can tell my friend that her dad found his essence so he had to go or that he was able to create his essence so he had to go. Will that be comforting enough?
I really do not know. Death is just a mystery to me. Many if not all people are afraid of it but come to think of it. We live each day because of death. Our stomachs are cemeteries of dead fish, animals and plants. The pig had to die so we may have pork. Need I go on? This is what I know, death can teach us a lot of things. As Martin Heidegger said, "We should spend more time in graveyards".
My condolences to you my friend.
A Mystical Lake
The Cordillera region of the Philippines is known for its scenic views in forms of mountains, valleys, hills and beautiful bodies of water. In a remote land in the Cordilleras is a town called Barlig specifically situated in the province of Mountain Province. Barlig has a bountiful environment that is also evident in its affluent culture. Local folktales relate stories about heroes and even origins of peculiar views in the place. They commonly tell tales of enchantments and mysteries.
Lake Tufob. This is a beautiful and equally mystical lake found in Barlig. Locals tell of a beautiful love story about this lake. The story begins with a man who went to the forest to hunt for wild animals. As he was striding along the forest, he heard some giggling from a distance. He started following the giggling sound and was astonished with what he saw. There in a lake are bewitching ladies taking a swim. He tried to hid himself and was swayed by awe that he continued watching them while they bathe. He was dumbfounded when he suddenly saw wings that were laid by the lakeshore. These were not typical women. They had wings. A thought entered his mind. "What if I hide a pair of the wings"? After bathing, the ladies each took her wings and flew up to the sky. All the ladies flew to the sky except for one still looking for her wings. She started to cry. The man then came out from where he was hiding and pretended to ask why she was crying. He then asked the girl to go with him. Without her wings, she knew that to go with him is her best option. To cut the story short, they got married and had a daughter. One day, while the man was out to hunt, the girl found her wings hidden in the attic. She decided to go back to her home but she cannot bring her daughter with her. Without waiting for her husband, she left. When the man came home, the daughter told her what happened.
I really cannot remember how the story ended. Perhaps every time my grandmother told me the story, I fell asleep without knowing the ending. What I know is that the lake still stands to this day. It is just unfortunate that although I am from the place, I have never seen it in person. Maybe in the future when this pandemic is over. Maybe, just maybe.
I am listening...
At the moment, I am listening to a song I have always loved the first time I heard. I like it because it gives me a wonderful feeling of hope and deeper sense of peace - peace that surpasses all understanding. Anyhow, the song talks about the usual thing about us not to be saddened or dismayed about the circumstances of this world as there is someone who seems not to be doing anything but in fact is doing something although we may not see nor hear. It is a usual story of hope but I guess there is always this one word, one statement or one song that will struck a person at one point. In my case, it is this song.
With the situation confronting the world, a little encouragement would mean a lot to a person like me. I know I am surrounded with people who care but there are really times when the feeling of solitude engulfs. Then I succumb to it (loneliness). Truth be told, I have been thought to be a very strong person all my life. I don't know why but they see me headstrong. Perhaps I am indeed strong but even the strong weakens at times.
This I learned that every smile, every simple gesture of kindness and care and even the slightest pat in the shoulder may actually mean the world to someone. As for you who share similar sentiments as me, be open, be ready that your hope may just be in a song. Listen...
WORDS
I am having a really difficult time composing this but it was not the case many years back. I remember that when I was younger, I had a strong fascination in writing although I really am not sure if I am a good one. What I know is that I like to write and ideas flow freely unlike now when I had to squeeze whatever I have (if there is any) just to come up with this very first article in this platform.
Words for me are so beautiful back then that I even decided to study more of it in university. Words I thought were so powerful that the world actually revolves around it. Lovers realized they were in love with words. Great men and women in history still resonate their greatness even at present also through words. Politicians gain support with words. This world at present although maybe unintentional but relies so much on words and so communication became reachable at the tips of man's fingers. Even religion believes that everything came to pass merely from words.
Later, words became less powerful for me. There were many things I have in mind but cannot put in appropriate words. Perhaps because I started looking for appropriate ones. What is appropriate anyway? I there a standard for that? Perhaps I was trying to express using the standards of I do not know who.
Now, I am given this chance to start letting my mind flow into words without the standard of anybody. This platform has given me this chance to be me again. I am grateful for that.
My apologies if my thoughts are not properly placed this time. I hope that I would do better next time. But then again, what standard? Whose?
