I'm observing an increase in articles on domestic violence, early pregnancy and rape these days, and as I have time, I'd like to hear opinions on such social wounds. That's why I try to read the articles I come across without exception and leave my own comments.
Violence against women is also a serious problem in my country and the attacks against women are increasing day by day. Moreover, although the government has tried to take adequate measures in this regard, no positive result has been achieved.
This violence is sometimes perpetrated by the spouse, sometimes by the family father or brother, and sometimes by the mother, father or siblings of the person he marries. As a result, no matter who it comes from, women are left behind who have been humiliated, whose hearts and bodies have been injured or even killed.
Violence is not only applied to women, there are children and men who suffer from it. Since the majority of them are women, everyone rightly focuses on women. Violence against women, abuse, rape is one of the most important bleeding wounds of society.
The Convention of the Council of Europe on the Prevention and Combating of Violence Against Women and Domestic Violence, also known as the "Istanbul Convention" and prepared by the Council of Europe, consisting of 12 Chapters and 81 Articles has been signed by 45 countries and the European Union.
The first signature was made by Turkey on May 11, 2011 in Istanbul, and Turkey was the first country to accept it in its Parliament. The European Union signed the contract on 13 June 2017. 11 countries, including England, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Hungary, Slovakia, could not pass the adoption of the convention through their Parliaments.
Turkey is the first country to sign the convention, the first to adopt it in its Parliament, the first to put it into effect, and unfortunately it is the first country to withdraw from the convention. Despite some protests and statements by opposition groups, no steps were taken from the decision taken. Even in violence against women and children, countries have not been able to come together at a common point, and although each country has promised to implement its own action plan, we can observe that effective measures have not yet been reached.
I do not want to touch on the political and economic dimensions of these violence and abuses, or I do not want to dilute the issue with conflicts of opinion about how those with money and power get rid of their crimes.
You can guess that early pregnancies are the result of especially adolescent and extramarital affairs. It is obvious that the most important factor causing this is an inadequate sexual education. For this, we can blame many people, starting with the governments that regulate the education system, parents who do not educate their children on such issues, but we can never blame the person who experienced pregnancy alone. It is necessary to examine and examine the effects that cause this to occur, and to understand the difference in each event itself.
It is obvious that this is a mistake, terminating the pregnancy in various ways will result in a bigger mistake, except for health problems. Moreover, this mistake can turn into a guilty conscience that you will feel for the rest of your life. Errors are not closed with mistakes, remember that every pregnancy is the beginning of a living soul and the termination process can be equated with a killing.
Sexual abuse, physical or psychological violence today includes the responsibilities of governments, non-governmental organizations, families, individuals, at the point of prevention. I think that the other individuals responsible here are again women. Except for some exceptional cases, our mothers, who are women, raise all of us. The biggest responsibility in terms of raising new generations suitable for the expectations we are expecting will be the mothers and mother candidates. Starting today, if you raise your boys or girls the way you want to be treated, we will start to get the desired results after a few generations. In this regard, under the responsibility of future mothers, future generations can be grown like a newly planted sapling.
When the saplings planted today grow, violence and abuse, which are seen as one of the biggest problems of humanity, can disappear by itself without the need for additional measures. You may see this as too much optimism, but even its decrease can be seen as a big result.
Thank you for reading.
Rape and abuse appear everywhere, but in some places it's culturally accepted and in other places it's not. Question: what happens with a man that rapes? Is he accepted by his family? His neighborhood? Does he go to jail? Is he well treated in jail? In my country if a rapist goes to jail, he has it VERY rough.
