I liken those who offer expert recommendations on how children and young people should use technology to the recommendations offered by dieticians.

First have soup, wait half an hour, move on to the main course, don't eat this with that, don't eat that with that, and so on and so forth!

I eat whatever I find on the table and it takes 15 minutes at most, and I have not experienced any side effects so far. I do not suffer from indigestion, I do not have stomach ailments. I have no bowel problems!

Well, leave the children and young people alone, let them get to the bottom of technology. This is their era and there are millions of options on the internet. Pursuing one in a thousand possibilities by highlighting a few of the most harmful ones does not gain anything for anyone.

Have you never been a child? Didn't you feel the activation of your defence instincts against the decisions you made as a child and the wrongness? Have you never fallen? Haven't there been times when you found the truth by making mistakes?

Have some faith in children and their judgement! I'm sure it'll work better than ours!

Yes, not everything works as calculated on paper, there are margins of error. There is no need to calculate odds of one in a thousand, perhaps one in a million. Who follows recommendations that dietitians themselves do not follow?

Every parent is a natural and instinctive risk calculator. I get it, you want the best for your children like everyone else, but every minute you deprive them of technology can have a much greater impact on them in the future. Losses are hard to recover from.

Every goal conceded in a must-win game requires one more goal to be scored. If you are 1-0 down, you need 2 goals to win. Therefore, let them not be defeated at all, let them conclude with one goal.

The future is coming fast and technology is keeping pace. Are you going to make them manual channel changers in an analogue broadcast? And are you going to do this just because of the thought of a one in a thousand chance of it happening?

Let the two-year-old baby dance his fingers on the tablet. Maybe he will be a pianist in the future, he is already practising his fingers, can't he? Let the 6-year-old play his favourite games. It is better than being physically, verbally or visually abused outside and much better than experiencing any other danger.

Do you know how many cigarette smokers, how many slang words and abusive sentences a child of any age group sees on the way to school, and how many children he/she disposes of in school?

Being too protective can also be harmful. Keeping them away from technology can be harmful. It can be harmful to ensure that they do not know what they need to know.

Not everything is taught, some things are learnt by living!

As a music teacher, I have attended many children and I have realized that the best way for them to learn is by experimenting themselves with musical instruments or with anything else they want to learn. Children are a sponge, I always say that, all the knowledge that is imparted to them they absorb and learn, using technology for children to study is the best thing we can think of, the world continues to advance and technology continues to grow, teaching children to use technology for their benefit and learning is the best thing we can do at this time.

You're kind of like a field officer on this. In this respect, I can see that you are more experienced than me. I am not in contact with many children, but as far as I can see, children are not provided with opportunities to make decisions and do things on their own, or they are provided very little. Technology is one of them, at least in a certain period of time, they should be given the chance of trial and error and their development and reactions should be monitored without making them feel it from a distance.

I believe that a guardian should not be overprotective. Also, there are sometimes the child will learn other things from outside. Experience is the best teacher

Though experiences are the best teacher I hope this could not cover up the chances that some unfortunate happenings would be prevented in terms of letting kids do their things in this fast pace of technology. Proper guidance should be imposed by the adults to gain the best from doing so. ✌

Oddly enough, adults experience technology with them, so we can't pinpoint the benefits and harms.

Maybe in the physical aspect, I guess. Some kids are prone to eye sight problems due to too much screen time, that should be minimized at least.

Learning is a constant process.. We can acquire most of the knowledge through experiences and life's challenges..that is given..

True my friend. We learned by living even no one taught us. We learned because we see it and we experience it.

Only God can help in child training. Some parents make mistakes in child training. Some are underprotective while others are overprotective.
