The film is mainly about the Trojan War in history and tells about the important war heroes of that period and the cause and results of the war. The place known as Troy at the time of the war is located on the territory of my country today. Due to its strategic location, it is also the first Asian-European war in history.
I leave history and wars aside and move on to my journey. My first visit to the lands of the Trojan war. In fact, although it is not far from me (a 5-6 hour drive), I had not had the opportunity to come before. In any case, this is a trip made for work rather than a trip.
After an estimated 6-hour drive, we arrived in Çanakkale. But our business is on the opposite side, on the Gallipoli side. We have to cross the sea in between. Since we will need a car in Gallipoli, he will come with us by ferry in the car.
We cross (Gallibolu) with the help of the ferry. For now, there is no other option but the ferry. But there is an ongoing suspension bridge construction. After a few years, it will be possible to cross the bridge. The Dardanelles Strait has an economic and strategic value as it is a gateway connecting the Aegean Sea to the Marmara Sea. During the First World War, which lasted from 1914 to 1918, the British lost their navy here. This war revealed the phrase "Çanakkale is impassable" in history.
Seagulls accompany us throughout the ferry journey. They show such moves that they either dance for us or race the ferry. It's great to watch them fly.
Finally, we reached our destination, Gallipoli. Our aim here is to meet with the owner of the Pine trees garden, which we have received information about and met on the phone, and to rent all the Pine trees he has. We will collect and transport the cones from the pine trees.
After completing its transportation, the pine nuts inside the cones will be removed and marketed in kilograms. We are still at the beginning of the road. It will go through quite a long process. After removing the inside, it needs to be baked and dried thoroughly.
The Trojan horse in the movie Troy was brought to Çanakkale, where the Trojan war took place, in the year the movie premiered, and is exhibited there. The Trojan horse that changed the tide of this war and showed how to win a war with strategy. This is the result of a truly ingenious idea. If we evaluate it in terms of Troy, it is just as stupid.
I love my country and the geography I live in. Every place has a history. The beginning of many civilizations. It is possible to see the traces of the efforts made to own and dominate these lands everywhere. It has many historical buildings. Reaching and seeing the facts of people who lived centuries before us is like going on a fascinating historical journey.
