The place where I live is a place of historical importance and dates back to ancient times. B.C. It has been a settlement since the 5000s. With this feature, it has witnessed many civilization and empire periods.

Hittites, Macedonians, Anatolian Seljuk State and Ottoman Empire are some of them. It is possible to see the traces of history in different parts of the city and it is worth visiting in terms of historical buildings, natural riches and villages.

The House of the Virgin Mary:

The house of the Virgin Mary, which has a great importance for Christians, is the place where the Virgin Mary spent her last years. It has been open to visitors as a place of pilgrimage since 1961 and welcomes an average of more than 1 million visitors per year. This number was higher before the pandemic.

Lake Bafa: It is known as the hometown of the famous philosopher Heraclitus. Its history, which dates back to 2000 years ago, has been preserved in the best way until today.

According to the researches, it was cut off from the sea by the Latmos gulf and turned into a separate lake. It was declared a Nature Park in 1989.

Miletus Ancient City: It is known as the city of philosophers and has a perfect grid architecture. There is a theater with a capacity of 15,000, Roman baths, religious center building Delphinion, Capito baths, South Agora Faustina bath and other historical structures.

Priene Ancient City: The ancient city of Priene, which was on the coast when it was built, has become a piece of land today due to the alluviums formed by the Menderes river. B.C. It is estimated to belong to the 7th century.

The most important structures of the city are the Priene Athena Temple and the Athena Polias Temple.

Dilek Peninsula:

Dilek Peninsula, which has a perfect view formed by the combination of blue and green, is home to 804 different plant species, 256 different bird species and 42 kinds of reptiles. It was declared a National Park in 1966 and carefully protected.

St. Nicholas Church: Built in 1821, the church was built in the name of St. Nicholas (Santa Claus). It is the second church built in the name of Santa Claus in Anatolia. According to the researches about the church, information has been reached that it has a rectangular plan, a bell tower on the narthex, two narthexes on the sides of the nave and two apses. It was used as a mosque for a short time. Due to the historical atmosphere it offers, it is frequently flocked by visitors.

Ephesus Ancient City: Ephesus Ancient City is 8 km. is in a field. It is one of the important examples of the polished stone age. Celsus Library, Seven Sleepers, Temple of Artemis and other historical buildings are among the places that should be seen due to its atmosphere and distinctive travel experience.

Şirince Village: Şirince Village has a richness worth seeing with its harmonious, narrow streets that do not cut each other's view, as well as cafes and restaurants.

The city, which hosted many ancient cities and witnessed history, is known throughout the country as "the city with olive oil flowing from its mountains and honey flowing from its plains".

In every places historical places are the legacies which allow us reminisce to those important events. When I'm saw the last part of the image I was so astonished cause where the city of olive oil flowing from it's mountain and honey flowing from it's plains. That was awesome.

The reason for this is that there are olive trees in the mountains and beekeeping is made from flowers in the plains. A large part of their livelihood is olives and honey.
