Having to use electron Cash will be a deal breaker for ease of use for most people who aren't developers. People need to start making easier tools not hard ones if we want to branch out to the grand public

I agree, to reach the grand public something else would be needed. For now though, the target userbase is people with a lot of money and our estimates is that they are likely to already use electron cash, or trust it enough to use it for temporary funds.

In the future, we might be able to build the same assurance contract functionality as a smart contract, which would open up for a much better UX and more freedom in choosing what wallet one wants to use.

hm, I made a pledge (tx 25b5dd698082e83cc52b2b7b896e975ba304a730cf07e021c968de5c819807b7) but it's not showing on http://eathbch.flipstarter.cash despite the tx being mined.

Is there a delay to be expected for pledges to show up on campaign sites?

Just trying to make sure I did it correctly.

Another question: I hope the frozen coin wont be used by Cash Shuffle or Cash Fusion (beta)?

There is no way for me to know exactly what happened, but that tx looks like the plugin tx prepared your pledge coin correctly. (It makes a single internal tx to create the pledge coin). That coin should be frozen in your coins tab. It will stay frozen there until it is spent in the final transaction made by Flipstarter.

You have to submit the text blob from the plugin into the site so that the site is aware of it and able to spend it later. Did your pledge submission work?

I thought so. posted the data and hit some button. after that the main campaign page was shown.

I'll unfreeze the coin and redo the process using screen capture this time

Definitely a possibility! We are all doing this as volunteers, so we are ok for now. We will use some of the donated funds toward bounties on developing new techniques, especially for better UX.

For now we don't want people to feel like we are arbitrarily changing our goals (we stated 1 eatbch campaign + 6 node campaigns). We might do another one if there is enough indpendent demand and we think it will not delay the node campaigns.
