Blissed out, yet a little bitter

Holidays are great! Especially back home with family for me. I only get to see them around once a year and I love being spoilt while I'm here. Everyone is cooking for me and dad is driving me around like a Princess, even if I come here by car. I usually take this opportunity to leave the car in good hands of his mechanic for full checkup and necessary repairs.
Back home, in uk, I barely spend any money. I just pay bills, buy fuel, food and go out salsa dancing. I save my money for the trips back home, so when I'm finally here I go all bananas. I buy clothes, beauty products, beauty treatments, favourite foods, necessary check ups and a bag of meds for a dark hour. I visit dentist, dermatologist, hair dresser, nail technician, car mechanic and whatever doctor I might need to see. Thanks to my savings I can visit every specialist I want at a short notice privately. Still, it costs me a fraction of what I would have to pay back in uk.
I'll give you some examples. To change 1 tyre in my car it costs Β£200. It includes fitting and recycling of an old tyre. Can you imagine how I'm dreading the news that my tyre needs to be changed? Before MOT in spring this year I had 0 money and I knew my tyres are of questionable quality. I asked my friend to have a look at them and he suspected 2 tyres might not pass the MOT. I rely on my car for just about anything I do, so I could not allow it to fail an MOT. I went to an old, dirty, second hand tyre shack and replaced 2 tyres for Β£50 each and my MOT passed without any issues.
The difference between my usual top-end Pirelli tyres and those cheap ones was noticeable though. It drove differently and in the last 2 months the air was keep going down in one tyre, so I had to drive to pumping station every single week to adjust the pressure. Something was also making a weird noise when I was driving over speed bumps. Once I started working I took it to my usual garage for a check up of tyres and suspension, but everything was in a great condition they said. I was not convinced, so I decided to drive to Poland rather than fly and take it to my dad's mechanic as soon as I'm here.
Yesterday I took my baby back from the mechanic and he confirmed there was nothing wrong with either suspension or the tyres, but I still asked him to fit 2 new tyres, because I'm clearly paranoid π
He changed the air inflow in the old tyres and packed them in my boot, so I'll have 2 spares in case I'm low on money and my nice tyres need replacing. 2 new Pirellis fitted cost Β£200 here. The same as 1 back home. It was a no brainer for me. Sooner or later every tyre needs to be replaced and I would rather do it for half the price.
The same goes for pretty much everything and this is the reason why I spend little back home, so I can get everything half price or less while I'm in Poland. I will go back home with fully serviced car, new tyres, new hair, new nails, clean and helthy teeth, refreshed skin and big bags of everything I need for another year. It makes sense, right?
If everything goes so well, then why am I bitter you ask?
Well, while I'm on holiday, my daily routine goes out of the window and there are opportunities that I might have missed. Before leaving England I was about to buy some doge coin to bridge to dogechain for example. I managed to buy USDT through p2p on Binance at a good coversion rate just before I left then in the rush of preparation I failed to buy doge and well... now doge is flying thanks to Elon Musk again and also JYD that I was going to buy to stake some of my NFTs in Junk Yard. Instead of ripping the profits from doge doubling in price and juicy APR's from my Huskies and DogeBears being staked, I look at the flying chart and I have a bitter taste in my mouth.
Granted, I have 1000's of Doge locked in various NFTs on dogechain, so my DC portfolio sure doubled in $ value, but I can't help but think that I could have earned so much more if I just bought some more doge in time. That is an opportunity missed in the holiday mode. As I check my Binance account today I also noticed that my USDT amount has increased. Of course, My BNB sell order was fullfilled 2 days ago and BNB is also flying well past my sell order. How typical. And BCH? Well, it's moving a little down a little up and never 10% at a time so I can neither buy or sell! I guess I'll just keep earning more.
Nonetheless a profit is a profit and I am grateful for any and all. Had I not joined read.cash last year I would not have any profits at all. I am constantly learning and expanding my protfolio and I am sure that one day this effort will pay for my brand new Tesla.
Until next time π
