Blissed out, yet a little bitter

Holidays are great! Especially back home with family for me. I only get to see them around once a year and I love being spoilt while I'm here. Everyone is cooking for me and dad is driving me around like a Princess, even if I come here by car. I usually take this opportunity to leave the car in good hands of his mechanic for full checkup and necessary repairs.

Back home, in uk, I barely spend any money. I just pay bills, buy fuel, food and go out salsa dancing. I save my money for the trips back home, so when I'm finally here I go all bananas. I buy clothes, beauty products, beauty treatments, favourite foods, necessary check ups and a bag of meds for a dark hour. I visit dentist, dermatologist, hair dresser, nail technician, car mechanic and whatever doctor I might need to see. Thanks to my savings I can visit every specialist I want at a short notice privately. Still, it costs me a fraction of what I would have to pay back in uk.

New shoes!

I'll give you some examples. To change 1 tyre in my car it costs Β£200. It includes fitting and recycling of an old tyre. Can you imagine how I'm dreading the news that my tyre needs to be changed? Before MOT in spring this year I had 0 money and I knew my tyres are of questionable quality. I asked my friend to have a look at them and he suspected 2 tyres might not pass the MOT. I rely on my car for just about anything I do, so I could not allow it to fail an MOT. I went to an old, dirty, second hand tyre shack and replaced 2 tyres for Β£50 each and my MOT passed without any issues.

The difference between my usual top-end Pirelli tyres and those cheap ones was noticeable though. It drove differently and in the last 2 months the air was keep going down in one tyre, so I had to drive to pumping station every single week to adjust the pressure. Something was also making a weird noise when I was driving over speed bumps. Once I started working I took it to my usual garage for a check up of tyres and suspension, but everything was in a great condition they said. I was not convinced, so I decided to drive to Poland rather than fly and take it to my dad's mechanic as soon as I'm here.

Yesterday I took my baby back from the mechanic and he confirmed there was nothing wrong with either suspension or the tyres, but I still asked him to fit 2 new tyres, because I'm clearly paranoid πŸ˜… He changed the air inflow in the old tyres and packed them in my boot, so I'll have 2 spares in case I'm low on money and my nice tyres need replacing. 2 new Pirellis fitted cost Β£200 here. The same as 1 back home. It was a no brainer for me. Sooner or later every tyre needs to be replaced and I would rather do it for half the price.

Shiny new tyres and clean car

The same goes for pretty much everything and this is the reason why I spend little back home, so I can get everything half price or less while I'm in Poland. I will go back home with fully serviced car, new tyres, new hair, new nails, clean and helthy teeth, refreshed skin and big bags of everything I need for another year. It makes sense, right?

If everything goes so well, then why am I bitter you ask?

Well, while I'm on holiday, my daily routine goes out of the window and there are opportunities that I might have missed. Before leaving England I was about to buy some doge coin to bridge to dogechain for example. I managed to buy USDT through p2p on Binance at a good coversion rate just before I left then in the rush of preparation I failed to buy doge and well... now doge is flying thanks to Elon Musk again and also JYD that I was going to buy to stake some of my NFTs in Junk Yard. Instead of ripping the profits from doge doubling in price and juicy APR's from my Huskies and DogeBears being staked, I look at the flying chart and I have a bitter taste in my mouth.

Granted, I have 1000's of Doge locked in various NFTs on dogechain, so my DC portfolio sure doubled in $ value, but I can't help but think that I could have earned so much more if I just bought some more doge in time. That is an opportunity missed in the holiday mode. As I check my Binance account today I also noticed that my USDT amount has increased. Of course, My BNB sell order was fullfilled 2 days ago and BNB is also flying well past my sell order. How typical. And BCH? Well, it's moving a little down a little up and never 10% at a time so I can neither buy or sell! I guess I'll just keep earning more.

Nonetheless a profit is a profit and I am grateful for any and all. Had I not joined read.cash last year I would not have any profits at all. I am constantly learning and expanding my protfolio and I am sure that one day this effort will pay for my brand new Tesla.

Until next time πŸ’™

Such a huge amount to fix a tyre? Glad you bought two extras as you wouldn't have to spend a whole lot in the future again. That car is so cute and I love it.

I love it when I get to visit my family after a whole year and I am being treated like a princess without going anything but they are doing all for me. Lol

Yes, I am not well prepared against future tire issues ;)

Same, same. I love being spoilt rotten by my family πŸ’™

Nice buys and your car has been pampered with those new tyres :)

As for the market, I'm a little out of the loop, lol! I did see DOGE at 0.14 but I have none of it. And true, a profit is a profit no matter how small it is.

Ohoooo, the shoes! That's what I first noticed. Just OMG. It's cool and pretty 🀩🀩 ME WANT! And good thing you decided to finally replaced your tyres a new one. At least, you won't have to think about getting a flat tyres anymore.

And I saw Doge fly to the moon but sadly, I only have a little of that. Haha, i'm still at loss tbh coz I bought it at the top πŸ˜πŸ˜‚

I love them too! The best part is that I don't have to tigh the laces, cause they have a zipper on the side - makes my life SO much easier 😍😍😍 Last year when these shoes started being in fasion again I was like 'Not a chance that I'll buy this, I have to wear shoes like this for work!' But after a year of looking at them I finally gave in and those white ones looks super cool 😁

How far at the top did you buy doge? I was buying since Septemer at +/- $0.06

Those prices are crazy I don't blame you for not spending until you visit your family. I'd fill that trunk and back seat up, haha. All those appointments, how long is your visit usually?

Totally! Every time I come back from the shop with another bag of something, my mum asks 'How will you pack all this'? I keep saying I will rent a private jet, cause I don't have an empty car all for myself πŸ˜…πŸ˜…πŸ˜… My mum loves to worry about everything.

Last year I was self employed, so I stayed for almost a month. This year only 2 weeks, as I'm limited by annual leave I have.

It was a good idea to change those tyres, driving around with them is kinda risky (even though the mechanics said they are fine), not to mention that your mind won't be at rest. Better to be safe than sorry πŸ˜‰

All a matter of perspective. If I had no car, I would have no job. Car where I live is a necessity, not a luxury.

I could totally relate to splurging in the home country than in the UK. Unfortunately, some things in the UK are quite overpriced. Like a hair cut and a massage. Good call on changing back to better tires. It's better safe than sorry.

That's how I see it too. I can settle for lower quality when I can't afford better, but once I can, I catch up. Massage is one thing I don't save on while in uk. I can go a year without a haircut and just put colour on by myself, but I need a regular massage and I have a great guy who does mine and always gives me extra time for the same price. We get along so well, that we always talk throughout the massage and still stay a little extra to finish the conversation :) I feel that I get more value for my money if I get a really good service. For car not so much. They barely do the minimum when I service my car in UK, so I get much better deal here, plus cheaper 😁

Do you go back home often?

Unfortunately I have not been home for 3 years as it does cost a fortune to do so. But I am hopeful that next year I can. Asian massage is quite different compared to UK ones. I am yet to find a masseuse that I truly like here.

I go for full body sport massage, as this fits my dancing lifestyle.

I am hoping to go to PH next year too. Maybe we should go together? :D

Ohhh I would be very happy to host you if we happen to go the same time. I live in a province called Bohol and it's beautiful.

I am jealous of people who can dance. I do not have talent for it.

Which is the closest airport to where you live?

Anyone can learn to dance. I can take you out for a salsa party in Soton if you happen to visit around the first Friday of the month :)

The closest airport would be Panglao International Airport.

Trust me. I am as stiff as a tree. I do love salsa music and rhythm so I could just listen along :)

Oh we should thanks for we have and enjoy, now you are enjoying buying nice things like your shoes... and cryptos, it's a fast world, all changes fast really but we are learning step by step and hope we can have more profits!!! I am sure grateful for everything I have, but if you know you neglected something you were planning to do and then see what could be if you did that, there is a little bitter taste in your mouth ;)

Yes, you got it right. Live in UK is expensive, but it's also easier to find a good job and I love the multinational population in UK πŸ’™
