If in case you would like to read the first part, below is the link of that. You will have a better understanding why I am writing this.
Are you proud of who you have become (Part 1)
As expected, I didn't pass the board exam and I feel a bit sad because my family are expecting that I will become an engineer. But maybe, God has better (a lot better) plans for me.
I believe that He has a better plan. Even though it will take a long time for that plan to happen in my life. After I learned that I didn't pass the board exam, I got really sad because I have disappointed my family. I have plans of working in a big construction firm. I have always imagined working on site, working on foundations and trusses and columns and beams. (An engineering student or an engineer would know this.)
I have already prepared myself of getting a tanned skin if I'll be working on site. Ready to engaged to different types of workers just like when we were doing our On the job training during college. But all of those imagination that I have in me just popped into thin air. I didn't pass the board exam.
I'm just so glad that I already got a job. That what I was so worried if I didn't pass. Because I know I need to look for a job so that I can already support myself and my siblings. So even if I'm sad that I didn't pass, I'm also happy that I got hired at ePerformax!
Well, when I was in college in Cebu, it has been a dream to work in a call center company. I don't know why but it just really got my interest. So, I started my training on December 4. Even, I already finished my review and board exam, I stayed in Manila to work. I worked as a call center representative. A lot would say that entering the BPO industry is very easy because all you need is to speak well or fluently in english.
Well, thats what I thought too but I was wrong. I can say that our call center agents are one of the brightest, industrious, and most patient workers I've known. To the extent that even if the callers are angry and shouting, CSRs should remain calm or neutral and professional. They require knowledge too in applying to a call center job. But whats good about this is that there is no discrimination with this kind of job. If you are a high school grad, you can apply to a BPO. And as long as you pass the interview and exams, then you will get hired.
I remembered that when I first worked, i have tenured workmates. Tenured means, they worked in a BPO before. While, I am a call center virgin because its my first time. π π π
So, there it is. I had a training and the first time I set foot in the Operations floor, I saw the workforce station and I dreamt to be part of that team. I strived hard to become a good agent. But, i wasn't lucky. I only lasted 5months on my first job. The pay was okay and I love the environment. But since its my first job, i guess i got overwhelmed with everything. Including the disappointment I am still feeling of not being an engineer.
To be continued.....
You are following process that needs consistency and persistence. Keep trying you will certainly get into the board. Don't give up.
