Stop using bottled water, save money and reduce waste

For many years we were consuming bottled water and recently we have came to learn that we we were wasting hundreds a year for no benefit whatsoever.

We wrongly assumed that our tap water was not safe enough to drink and all our drinking water, except for boiled water used for making tea, came from bottled water.

One day we decided to challenge our decision and bought a drinking water test kit only to discover that our tap water is perfectly safe for drinking.

You may be in the same situation so you may consider to invest a little money against purchasing a drinking water test kit because that decision may also save you a lot of money.

Additionally, millions of plastic bottles are produced every year which amounts to a considerable usage of electricity and water that may not be necessary. This is a big waste that can be prevented by increasing everyone's awareness.

Yes, it is up to people to be conscoious about the environmental impact of using pastic bottles and not recycle them.

Here in Germany we are charged a few cents every time that we are buying a plastic bottle and we get those cents back when we return (recycle) that plastic bottle.

In Spain, where I am from, this approach it is not used so people may or may not recycle the plastic bottles. There is not any incentive.

In any case, if the tap water is good enough for drinking there is no need of buying bottled water.

There's no something wrong about using bottled water, if the people know how to segragate bottled and know where to throw their garbage. It is depend on US, we need lots of decipline here.
