Coconut cake
Ingredients
1 cup all-purpose flour ( you can take 3/4 and 1/4 of cornflour)
1/2 teaspoon of baking soda
1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract or essence
1/2 teaspoon of vinegar or lemon juice
1/2 a cup of plain water
4 tablespoons of vegetable oil or butter or clarified butter aka ghee
a pinch of table salt
1/2 cup of powdered sugar
a spoon or two of coconut flakes
you can add a spoon or two of curd if you like to have a moist cake
Method
Sieve the flour and baking soda for at least two times so that it is mixed thoroughly and gets aerated as well.
Preheat the oven at 180-degree Celsius. Keep the cake pan ready - either line it with baking paper or flour it after smearing some butter or oil.
Mix the oil/butter/ghee and the sugar thoroughly for a few minutes. Add water and continue the mixing. Add the vinegar/lemon juice, essence, and salt.
Add the flour and fold it well.
Mix a spoon of the coconut flakes and pour it in the cake pan. Sprinkle a spoon of the coconut flakes on top and bake it for about thirty minutes at about 220-degree Celsius or until done.
The coconut gives the cake a unique flavor and also the crust gets a golden look.

A long time ago, someone told me one of the truest love stories. It was this: the real value of your life is how well you loved and were loved back.
In an age where people, places and moments are too easily replaced, societal norm has acclimatized to a kind of social media dating that is anything but normal.
I have often pondered what impact this modern re-invention of romance would have on me if I were 10-years-old today. I grew up where liking a boy meant a stomach of fluttering butterflies if he looked at me. At 10-years-old, my idea of romance or love stories was the way your reflection danced into someone’s eyes and how that made you feel.
I have never stopped believing that or living by that.

1. True love knows no obstacles or distance.
Despite abject poverty and social stigmas of his “untouchable” caste, Pradyumna Kumar Mahanandia[1] earned a place as a student at the College of Art in New Delhi.
Following his painting of Indira Gandhi, many people wanted him to draw them. One of those was Charlotte Von Schedvin, who was traveling in India.
They soon fell in love and got married. Charlotte, however, had to return home to Sweden. She offered to pay for Pradyumna’s plane ticket, but he had too much pride to accept and promised he would make the money on his own.

After a year, he had still not saved enough.
Selling all of his possessions, he made enough to buy a bicycle. He then cycled for four months and three weeks, covering 4,000 miles across Afghanistan, Iran, Turkey, Bulgaria, Yugoslavia, Germany, Austria, and Denmark to get to Sweden.
They are still happily married 40 years later, and live in Sweden with their two children. Pradyumna became a well-known artist and is a cultural ambassador.
When asked about his arduous journey, his reply was, “I did what I had to, I had no money but I had to meet her. I was cycling for love, but never loved cycling. It’s simple.”
2. You are never too old to find love.
In 1946, Anna and Boris had only been married for 3 days in Serbia when he left for the army.[2] Afterwards, Anna and her family were exiled and despite both their frantic searching, the two were unable to find each other.
Years passed and they both married other people, yet neither forgot their first love.
When their spouses had died and after 60 years, they coincidentally visited their hometown at the same time. When Boris saw her, he ran up to her and said: ‘My darling, I’ve been waiting for you for so long. My wife, my life…’”

3. Love as first sight does exist.

Princess Charlotte was the daughter of George, Prince of Wales (later George IV) and Caroline of Brunswick.[4] She was the future heir to the throne and was adored by the people, which was a stark contrast to the rest of the Royal family who were loathed.

At 17-years-old, Charlotte was pressured into agreeing to marry a Prince she didn’t like, until she met the handsome and dashing Prince Leopold of Saxe-Coburg-Saalfeld. Her father finally relented and permitted her to marry the impoverished Leopold.
Following their wedding and two miscarriages, Charlotte again became pregnant with the entire country elated.
In 1817, at 21-years-old and after two days of a difficult labor, Charlotte delivered a stillborn 9-pound son by breech birth. Prince Leopold was so worried that he refused to leave his wife’s side and insisted on helping her–something that was unheard of at the time.

After the third day, Charlotte’s condition seemingly improved. Leopold was urged to take an opiate to rest, as he had not slept for 3 days. Unfortunately, Charlotte’s condition worsened and it was not possibly to rouse the sleeping Leopold as she died.
Her death elicited international grieving on an even bigger scale than Princess Diana’s. Britain ran out of black cloth because everyone wore black–even the homeless found black scraps to tie around his or her arms.
Prince Leopold plunged into depression and eventually took a mistress who resembled Charlotte. Years later, he remarried and named his daughter Charlotte.
The Princess’ final wish before dying was for Leopold to be buried beside her when his time came. Shortly before he died, he asked Queen Victoria for this wish to be fulfilled but it was denied. His last words were: “Charlotte Charlotte”.

In the 1974, Irina and Woodford McClellan got married in Moscow.[7] Woodford, an American, had to return to the USA when his visa expired. He was repeatedly denied returning to Russia, and she was likewise refused entry to the USA.
It took 11 years of phone calls and letters to each other and unwavering endeavors before they were in 1986 in the United States.

For those who have found love, remember the beauty of being in love is finding new ways to keep falling in love with that person.

আমার ঠোঁটের উপরের তিল টা দেখেছেন?
পাত্রী দেখতে এসে পাত্রীর মুখে এমন অদ্ভুত প্রশ্ন শুনে আমার সামনে বসে থাকা ভদ্রলোক যে বেশ অবাক হয়েছেন, তা আমি বুঝতে পারছি। তারপরও স্বাভাবিক ভঙ্গীমায় তিনি উত্তর দিলেন,
– জ্বী দেখেছি।
সামনে সেন্টার টেবিলের উপর ট্রে তে দু’কাপ চা রাখা আছে। হালকা ঝুঁকে আমি চা’এ চিনি মেশাতে মেশাতে বললাম,
– ঠোঁটের উপরে তিল থাকলে প্রেম করে বিয়ে হয়। ক’চামচ চিনি দিবো?
– এক চামচ। আপনি তাহলে বিয়ের আগে প্রেম করতে চাচ্ছেন?
প্রতিউত্তরে শুধু মুচকি হাসলাম আমি। তারপর আবারো পালটা প্রশ্ন করলাম,
– আপনার নাম টা যেন কি?
– শিশির। আপনার নাম তো মিহি?
– হুম। নিন, চা শেষ করুন।
শিশিরের সামনে আমি যতটা ভদ্র হয়ে বসে আছি আদৌ আমি ততটা ভদ্র নই। আমাদের আলাদা কথা বলার সুযোগ দিয়ে চলে যাওয়ার সময় মা বলে গিয়েছিলেন, “আল্লাহ্র দোহাই লাগে, এই সহজ সরল ছেলেটাকে প্যাঁচে ফেলবি না”। অন্য সময় হলে মা কে একটা ভেংচি কেটে দিতাম কিন্তু তখন ভদ্রতার বেশ ধরে চুপচাপ বসে থাকতে হয়েছে আমাকে।

পাত্রপক্ষ চলে যাওয়ার পর আমি ঘরে এসে শাড়ি খুলতে ব্যস্ত হয়ে পড়লাম। এর মধ্যে মায়ের আগমন ঘটলো। মা কে দেখে আমি জিজ্ঞেস করলাম,
– এত দেরী করলে কেন?
মা’র ভ্রু কুঁচকে গেল,
– কিসের দেরী?
– আগেরবার পাত্রপক্ষের প্রস্থান করতে লেট হয়েছিল কিন্তু তোমার এই ঘরে আসতে লেট হয় নি।
– বাজে বকবি না তো। শোন্ না, বলছি যে, ছেলে পছন্দ হয়েছে তোর?
– হুম।
এই মুহূর্তে মা যথেষ্ট উৎফুল্ল,
– সত্যি?
– এভাবে বারবার জিজ্ঞেস করলে আমি কিন্তু কনফিউজড হয়ে যাব মা।
– না থাক, আর জিজ্ঞেস করবো না। আলহামদুলিল্লাহ্, যাক শেষমেশ….
শাড়িটা পুরোপুরি খুলে ফেলতেই মা কথা থামিয়ে দিলেন। চোখেমুখে তার একরাশ বিস্ময়,
– এ কি! তুই টাইলস আর টি-শার্টের উপর শাড়ি পরেছিলি!
– হ্যাঁ তো?
– তো মানে! ওরা যদি দেখে ফেলতো?
– দেখে নি তো। এটা নিয়ে আর কথা বাড়িয়ো না প্লিজ।
– শুধু বাপ-ছেলে এসেছিলো বলে বেঁচে গেলি। নয়তো কোনো মহিলা সাথে আসলে মজা টের পেতি।
আমার কোনো প্রতিক্রিয়া না দেখে রাগে গজগজ করতে করতে মা নিজের কাজে চলে গেলেন।
কিছুক্ষণ পর বাবা আসলেন, আমার মাথায় হাত বুলিয়ে দিতে দিতে বললেন,

– আমি জানতাম, এই ছেলেকে তোর অপছন্দ হবে না। যত তাড়াতাড়ি সম্ভব আমি বিয়ের ডেট ফিক্সড করছি।
রাতে শুয়ে শুয়ে গভীর মনোযোগ দিয়ে “Me before you” বইটা পড়ছিলাম। কিন্তু মনোযোগ বেশিক্ষণ ধরে রাখতে পারলাম না মিথুনের ফোনের যন্ত্রণায়। বিরক্ত হয়ে কল রিসিভ করলাম,
– হ্যালো।
– কি ব্যাপার মিহি, তুমি আমার কল রিসিভ করছো না কেন?
– দরকার মনে করছি না তাই।
– এভাবে বলো না প্লিজ। মানলাম গতকাল একটু বেশিই কড়া কথা শুনিয়েছিলাম তোমাকে। কিন্তু তার জন্য তো আমি পরে অনেকবার স্যরি বলেছি। কি, বলি নি?
– হুম বলেছো।
– তাহলে?
– তাহলে কি?
– উফ মিহি প্লিজ, গতকাল অফিসে কাজের প্রেশার এত বেশি ছিল যে, আমার মাথা হ্যাং হয়ে ছিল তখন। তাই কি বলতে কি বলে ফেলেছি। প্লিজ তুমি আর রাগ করে থেকো না।
– স্যরি আর প্লিজ বলাটা তোমার মুদ্রাদোষ হয়ে যাচ্ছে মিথুন।
– ঠিক আছে আর বলবো না।
– আচ্ছা। রাখছি এখন।
– রাখছো মানে?
– মানে ফোনের লাইন কেটে দিচ্ছি।
একটা দীর্ঘশ্বাস নিয়ে মিথুন তার ধৈর্য্যের মাত্রা বাড়িয়ে দিলো,
– কাল দেখা করবে?
– আচ্ছা, সকাল ১১ টায় বকুলতলায় চলে এসো।
– থ্যাংকস।
আর কোনো উত্তর দেয়ার প্রয়োজন মনে করি নি বলে আমি ফোন রেখে দিলাম। আমি জানি, মিথুন এখন আর কল দিবে না। আর এ ও জানি, কল দেয়ার জন্য ওর হাত টা নিশপিশ করছে কিন্তু ভয়ে কল দিতে পারছে না।
সকালে ঘুম থেকে উঠতে লেট হয়ে যাওয়ায় রেডি হওয়ার সময় তাড়াহুড়ো লেগে গিয়েছিলো। শাওয়ার নিয়ে জর্জেটের সবুজ শাড়ি টা কোনোরকম পরে আর ভেজা চুলগুলো ভালভাবে না আঁচড়িয়েই রওনা হয়ে গেলাম। রিক্সায় উঠে খেয়াল করলাম কাঁচের চুড়ি, কানের দুল, কাজল, লিপস্টিক কিছুই পরা হয় নি। ভ্যানিটিব্যাগে সবসময় কাজল থাকে, তাই তৎক্ষণাত কাজল টা চোখে টেনে নিতে পারলেও বাকিগুলো অসম্পূর্ণ থেকে গেল। তবে এজন্য আমার কোনো মাথাব্যথা নেই। আমি জানি, মিথুন আমাকে এই এলোমেলো অবস্থায় দেখেও বরাবরের মত চোখে একরাশ মুগ্ধতা নিয়ে হা করে তাকিয়ে থাকবে।
ঠিক ১১.২০ এ আমি বকুলতলায় পৌঁছালাম। রিক্সাভাড়া মিটিয়ে দিয়ে সামনে এগোতেই খানিকটা দূরে দেখতে পেলাম, আনমনে দাঁড়িয়ে সিগারেট টেনে যাচ্ছে মিথুন। ব্লাক কালারের শার্ট আর ব্লু কালারের জিন্সে অন্যান্য দিনের তুলনায় আজ মিথুন কে একটু বেশিই হ্যান্ডসাম লাগছে। শার্টের হাতা আবার ফোল্ড করে রেখেছে। অবশ্য ব্রেকআপের দিন সব বয়ফ্রেন্ডদেরই রূপ বেড়ে যায়। আমাকে দেখে তড়িঘড়ি করে মিথুন সিগারেট টা ফেলে দিতে নিলে আমি দূর থেকে হাত নেড়ে “না” করলাম।
কাছে গিয়ে জিজ্ঞেস করলাম,
– আমাকে দেখে সিগারেট ফেলে দিতে “না” করেছি না কতদিন?
– করেছো। কিন্তু সিগারেটের গন্ধে তোমার ক্ষতি হবে।
– হোক, তাতে তোমার কি? সিগারেটের গন্ধ আমার ভাল লাগে।
– এতোই যখন ভাল লাগে তখন নিজে টানলেই তো পারো।
আমি চোখ বড় বড় করে তাকাতেই মিথুন ঢোক গিললো,
– আচ্ছা বাদ দাও, যাক বাবা অবশেষে তোমার রাগ ভাঙলো।
– রাগ ভেঙেছে কে বললো?
– তার মানে এখনো রাগ করে আছো?
– রাগ করে আছি কে বললো?
– উফ মিহি…
– আমি এখনো নাস্তা করি নি। ক্ষিদে পেয়েছে খুব।
– ঠিক আছে, তুমি বসো। আমি কিছু কিনে নিয়ে আসছি।
– উঁহু, কিছু কিনে আনতে হবে না। আমি ফুচকা খাবো।
– এখন?
– হ্যাঁ, নয়তো কখন?
– আচ্ছা, ফুচকাও খাবে। তার আগে অন্য কিছু খেয়ে নাও।
মিথুনের কথা পাত্তা না দিয়ে আমি ফুচকাওয়ালার কাছে এগিয়ে গেলাম। পিছু পিছু মিথুনও আসছে।
– মামা, এক প্লেট ফুচকা দাও জলদি। ঝাল দিবা বেশি করে।
আমার কথা শুনে ফুচকাওয়ালা মামা মুচকি হেসে ফুচকা বানাতে শুরু করলেন।
তাড়াহুড়োর মধ্যে শাড়ির আঁচল পিন করতে ভুলে গিয়েছিলাম। এখন বারবার আঁচল সামলাতে গিয়ে ফুচকাটা খেতে পারছি না শান্তিমতো। এ অবস্থা দেখে মিথুন বললো,
– আমি খাইয়ে দিবো?
– না। অন্যের হাতে ফুচকা খেয়ে শান্তি নেই। তুমি বরং আমার শাড়ির আঁচল টা ধরে রাখো।
শাড়ির আঁচল ধরে রাখার কথা শুনে মিথুনের চোখ কপালে উঠে গেল।
– কি হল? দাঁড়িয়ে আছো কেন? আঁচল টা ধরে রাখতে বললাম না?
অনিচ্ছা সত্ত্বেও আমার ধমক শুনে আশেপাশে একবার চোখ বুলিয়ে কাচুমাচু হয়ে শাড়ির আঁচল ধরে নিস্তেজ হয়ে আমার পাশে দাঁড়িয়ে রইলো মিথুন। খেয়াল করলাম, এই মুহূর্তে চারপাশের সবার দৃষ্টিকেন্দ্র আমরা দু’জন।
ফুচকা খাওয়া শেষ করে দুজন পাশাপাশি হাঁটছি। মিথুন বললো,
– চলো কোথাও বসি?
আমি মিথুনের দিকে না তাকিয়ে উত্তর দিলাম,
– না। হাঁটতেই ভাল লাগছে। তুমি তো কিছু খেলে না।
– সকালে নাস্তা করে বের হয়েছি।
– ওহ্। আজ অফিস নেই? ছুটি নিয়েছো?
– তুমি মনে হয় ভুলে গেছো আজ শনিবার।
– হুম।
আনমনে হাঁটতে হাঁটতে হঠাৎ মিথুনের দিকে চোখ পড়তেই খেয়াল করলাম, সে আমার দিকে অপলক দৃষ্টি তে চেয়ে আছে। আমি একটু ইতস্তত বোধ করে বললাম,
– সামনে তাকিয়ে হাঁটো।
– আজ তোমাকে অন্যরকম সুন্দর লাগছে মিহি।
– হুম জানি। ব্রেকআপের দিন সবাইকেই এমন অন্যরকম সুন্দর লাগে।
কথাটা শোনার সংগে সংগে মিথুন দাঁড়িয়ে গেল,
– মানে? কি বলছো এসব?
– গতকাল আমাকে দেখতে এসেছিলো। পছন্দ হয়েছে ওদের। খুব তাড়াতাড়ি হয়তো বিয়ের ডেটও ফিক্সড হয়ে যাবে।
– এ খবর টা তুমি আগে দিলে না কেন?
– আগে দিলে কি হত?
– দেখো মিহি, এতদিন তোমার অনেক হেয়ালী আমি সহ্য করেছি। কিন্তু আজ তুমি সীমা অতিক্রম করছো। আমি তোমার বাবার সাথে কথা বলবো।
– কোনো লাভ হবে না তাতে। বাবা আমাদের সম্পর্ক কখনোই মেনে নিবেন না তা তোমাকে শুরু থেকেই বলে আসছি।
– তাহলে?
– তাহলে আবার কি? আমি বিয়ে করে নিবো আর তুমি কিছুদিন দুঃখবিলাস করবে। তারপর এক সময় তুমি আমাকে ভুলে যাবে।
– এসব কি কথা? তুমি সত্যি সত্যি ই বিয়ে টা করছো?
– না করার কি আছে!
– তাহলে আমার সাথে এতদিন কি করেছো?
– প্রেম করেছি।
– বিয়ে করার ইচ্ছে না থাকলে প্রেম করেছো কেন?
– তোমাকে ভালবাসি তাই।
– আমি না তোমার কথা কিছু বুঝতে পারছি না মিহি।
– বুঝতে হবেও না। যা বলছি মন দিয়ে শুনো, আমার সাথে এখন থেকে আর কোনো যোগাযোগ রাখবে না। খাওয়াদাওয়া ঠিকমতো করবে। নিজের যত্ন নিবে। এখন আর কোনো রিলেশনশিপে না গিয়ে পারলে সরাসরি বিয়ে করে ফেলো। ঠিক আছে? আমি আসছি তাহলে।
যাওয়ার সময় আমি আর পেছন ফিরে তাকালাম না। আমার মন বলছে, মিথুন এখনো আমার পথের দিকে চেয়ে আছে। কষ্ট যে আমারো হচ্ছে। ভেতর টা দুমড়ে মুচড়ে যাচ্ছে। কিন্তু আবেগ অনুভূতিগুলো ঠিকঠাকভাবে প্রকাশ করতে পারি না বলে কেউ আমাকে বুঝতে পারে না। একমাত্র মিথুন ছাড়া। আচ্ছা, মিথুন কি আজও আমাকে ঠিকঠাক বুঝতে পারছে? ও কি বুঝতে পারছে আমার কষ্ট টা? ও কি আমার ব্যর্থতাটাও বুঝতে পারছে? ও কি দীর্ঘশ্বাস চেনে? তার উত্তাপ বুঝে?
বাসায় এসে শুনলাম আগামী শুক্রবার আমার এংগেজমেন্ট। মা কে শর্ত জুড়ে দিলাম, এংগেজমেন্টে শুধু মামা আর খালামণি ছাড়া আর কোনো বাড়তি মানুষ কে যেন ইনভাইট না করে। এংগেজমেন্ট টা যেন ঘরোয়াভাবে করা হয়। নয়তো আমি আমার মত পালটে ফেলবো। মা প্রথমে রাজি না হলেও পরে ঠিকই রাজি হয়ে গেলেন।
ঘরে এসে ফ্রেশ হয়ে নীতু কে কল করে বললাম, কাল সকাল সকাল যেন বাসায় চলে আসে। সারাদিন আমার সাথে থাকবে। নীতু হচ্ছে আমার অন্যতম বেস্টফ্রেন্ড। মন খারাপ হলেই ওকে বাসায় ডেকে নিই। ওর সাথে আড্ডা দিলে মন ফুরফুরে হয়ে যায় একদম।
এর মধ্যে মিথুন একবার কল করেছিলো। কিন্তু আমি রিসিভ না করে এংগেজমেন্টের ডেট টা টেক্সট করে জানিয়ে দিয়েছি।
রাতে ঘুম আসছে না একদম। চার বছরের একটা সম্পর্ক এক নিমিষে শেষ করে দেয়া মুখের কথা না। আমার ভেতরে কি ঝড় বয়ে যাচ্ছে তা আমি ছাড়া কেউ জানে না। এমনকি মিথুনও না মনে হয়। মিথুন নিশ্চয়ই আমাকে ছলনাময়ী ভাবছে। কিন্তু আমি নিরুপায়। কিছু করার নেই আমার। বাবা কখনোই আমাদের সম্পর্ক মেনে নিবেন না। যদিও মিথুন ব্যাংকে জব করছে, ভাল পজিশনে আছে। কোনো মেয়ের বাবা’ই তাকে প্রত্যাখ্যান করবে না। শুধু আমার বাবা বাদে। এক্ষেত্রে মিথুনের একটাই অপরাধ, সে আমার সাথে এতদিন প্রেম করেছে। প্রেমের বিয়েতে বাবা মোটেও বিশ্বাসী নন। তারপরও আমি মিথুন কে ভালবেসেছিলাম কারণ ভালবাসতে বাধ্য হয়েছিলাম। ওর মধ্যে এমন কিছু ব্যাপার আছে, যা আমাকে মারাত্নকভাবে টানে। আমি বুদ হয়ে থাকি তার নেশায়। আমি প্রকাশ করি না বলে মিথুন হয়তো বুঝতে পারে না। প্রেমিকা হিসেবে আমি কোনো কালেই ভাল ছিলাম না। আমাকে সহ্য করা খুব কঠিন ব্যাপার। কিন্তু এই কঠিন কাজটাই চারটা বছর ধরে খুব সহজভাবে করে এসেছে মিথুন। তবে এত বেগুণের মধ্যে একটা ভাল গুণ আমার আছে। তা হল, আমি খুব সহজে ভড়কে যাই না। আমার ধৈর্য্য আর মানসিক শক্তি প্রবল। যে কোনো পরিস্থিতি খুব ঠান্ডা মাথায় বুদ্ধি খাটিয়ে সামলে নিতে পারি আমি। আর আবেগ জিনিস টা আমার মধ্যে তুলনামূলকভাবে কম থাকার কারণে, খুব সহজে কেউ আমাকে ঘায়েল করতে পারে না। একমাত্র মিথুন আমাকে ঘায়েল করতে পেরেছিলো তার সহজ সরল নিষ্পাপ অনুভূতিগুলো দিয়ে। এই দুনিয়াতে যদি একটি মানুষও ঠিকঠাক আমাকে বুঝে থাকে,তাহলে সে হচ্ছে মিথুন। এমনকি বাবা-মা’র পরে আমাকে যদি কেউ বেশি ভালবেসে থাকে, সেও হচ্ছে মিথুন। আমাদের ভালবাসায় কোনো খাদ নেই। নেই কোনো অপূর্ণতা। শুধু এই ভালবাসাটুকু কে বুকে আঁকড়ে ধরে বাকিটা জীবন অনায়াসে পার করে দেয়া যাবে।
অবশেষে এংগেজমেন্টের দিন ঘনিয়ে এলো। আমার শর্ত অনুযায়ী মামা, খালামণি আর আমার কিছু বান্ধবী ছাড়া আর কোনো আমন্ত্রিত অতিথি ছিল না। আজ দ্বিতীয়বারের মত শিশিরের সাথে আমার দেখা হল। এর মধ্যে শুধু ফোনে কথা হয়েছে দু’তিনবার। পাত্রপক্ষের সাথে বেশ কয়েকজন অতিথি এসেছেন।
খাওয়াদাওয়ার পর্ব শেষ করে আংটি পরানোর সময় হলে আমি একটু সময় চেয়ে নিলাম সবার কাছ থেকে। তারপর শিশির কে প্রশ্ন করলাম,
– আপনি তানিয়া কে বিয়ে করলেন না কেন?
তানিয়ার নাম শুনে শিশির রীতিমতো ঘামতে শুরু করে দিয়েছে। শিশির কে চুপ থাকতে দেখে আমি আবারো জিজ্ঞেস করলাম,
– কি হল, উত্তর দিচ্ছেন না কেন? নাকি আপনার কাছে এর কোনো উত্তর নেই?
উপস্থিত সবাই আমাদের দিকে কৌতুহলী দৃষ্টি নিয়ে তাকিয়ে আছে। বাবা বললেন,
– কি হয়েছে রে মা? তানিয়া কে? তুই কি কিছু বলতে চাইছিস?
– হ্যাঁ বাবা। শুধু বলতে না, প্রমাণও করতে চাইছি। তোমাদের পছন্দ করা পাত্র একজন খুনি।
এবার সবাই বিস্ময়ের শেষ সীমানায় পৌঁছে গেল। মা এগিয়ে এসে বললেন,
– কি বলতে চাইছিস পরিষ্কার করে বল।
শিশিরের বাবাও একই কথা বললেন। তারপর আমি একের পর এক বলতে শুরু করলাম,
– শুনো তাহলে, এই ভদ্রলোক দু’বছর আগে তানিয়া নামের এক মেয়ের সাথে প্রেমের সম্পর্ক চলাকালীন সময়ে তার সাথে শারীরিক সম্পর্ক গড়ে তুলে। তারপর সেই মেয়ে কনসিভ করলে শিশির তার দায় অস্বীকার করে। তারপর তানিয়া এবরশন করতে বাধ্য হয়। আমি দুঃখিত, এতগুলো গুরুজনদের সামনে আমাকে এ ধরনের আপত্তিকর কথা বলতে হচ্ছে। কিন্তু এছাড়া আর কোনো উপায় ছিল না আমার। শিশিরের মত ভালমানুষদের মুখোশ আড়ালে আবডালে নয়, লোকসম্মুখে প্রকাশ করতে হয়। একটা ভ্রণ হত্যা করা কি খুনের দায় নয় বাবা? শুধু তাই নয়, এ ঘটনার পরও সে আরো কয়েকজনের সাথে একই কাজ করে। ভালোবাসার নামে একের পর এক প্রতারণা করেছে শুধু।
শিশিরের মা প্রতিবাদ জানালেন,
– তোমার মুখের কথা আমরা বিশ্বাস করতে যাব কেন? প্রমাণ দেখাও….
– আমি জানি প্রমাণ ছাড়া এ কথাগুলো কেউ বিশ্বাস করবে না। তাই প্রমাণ আমার সাথেই আছে। তানিয়া বোরখা টা খুলো, আর ছবিগুলো দেখাও। রাইমা আর ফারজানা তোমরাও ছবিগুলো দেখাও। আরেকজন আছে কিন্তু ব্যক্তিগত কারণে সে আসতে পারে নি। আপনারা চাইলে তার সাথে ফোনে কথা বলিয়ে দিতে পারবো আমি।
সব ছবি আর মেসেঞ্জারে চ্যাট দেখে শিশিরের বাবা-মা’র চোখ ছানাবড়া হয়ে গেল। অনেক চাপাচাপির পর শিশিরও সব কিছু স্বীকার করে নিলো। তানিয়া আমার অনুমতি নিয়ে মনের জ্বালা মিটানোর জন্য শিশির কে কষে একটা থাপ্পড় মারলো। তানিয়ার দেখাদেখি বাকিরাও এগিয়ে গেল। শিশিরের বাবা-মা মাথা নিচু করে বসে রইলেন। একের পর এক থাপ্পড় খেয়ে মুখোশ উন্মোচনের অপমানে অপমানিত হয়ে মাথা নিচু করে সবার সামনে দিয়ে হেঁটে চলে গেল শিশির।
সবাই চলে যাওয়ার পর খালামণি আমাকে জিজ্ঞেস করলেন,
– শিশিরের ব্যাপারে এতকিছু তুই কি করে জানলি?
আমি আয়েশ করে বসে বলতে শুরু করলাম,
– সেদিন নীতু এসেছিলো বাসায়। ওকে বলেছিলাম….
“তোকে একটা কাজ দিবো, করতে পারবি নীতু?
– কি কাজ বল।
– শিশিরের ছবি দিয়ে কয়েকটা গার্লস গ্রুপে একটা পোস্ট করবি।
– কি বলিস এসব? কেন?
– আগে শোন না সবটা। আজকালকার ছেলেদের দিয়ে কোনো বিশ্বাস নেই। ঘটক তো শুধু পারিবারিক বৃত্তান্ত নিয়ে আসতে পারে, চরিত্র বৃত্তান্ত আমাদেরই যাচাই করতে হবে।
– তা না হয় বুঝলাম। কিন্তু কি পোস্ট করবো? আর পোস্ট করে যদি নেগেটিভ কিছু না পাস তাহলে ছেলেটার সম্মানহানি হবে না?
– এমনভাবে কাজ টা করতে হবে যেন সাপও মরে লাঠিও না ভাঙে। শোন্, পোস্টের ক্যাপশন দিবি,
“আমার কাজিন, গতকাল দেশে ফিরেছে। এতদিন স্কটল্যান্ড ছিল। একমাসের মধ্যে বিয়ে করে আবার স্কটল্যান্ড ব্যাক করবে। এটি একটি পাত্রী চাই পোস্ট।”
ব্যস, তখন আগ্রহীরা ইনবক্সে যোগাযোগ করবে আর যদি কোনো কাহিনী থাকে তাহলে কমেন্ট বক্সেই একেকজন ধুয়ে দিবে। আর হ্যাঁ, পোস্ট টা অবশ্যই ফেইক আইডি দিয়ে করবি।
– কি পিকুলিয়ার বুদ্ধি রে তোর মিহি! ঠিক আছে ছবি টা দিয়ে দিস, আমি পোস্ট করে দিবো।”
তারপর সেই পোস্টের কমেন্ট বক্স থেকেই ওই মেয়েগুলো কে পাওয়া। ওদের সাথে যোগাযোগ করে পুরো ঘটনা খুলে বলে ওদের কে আমার এংগেজমেন্টে ইনভাইট করেছিলাম। প্রথমে আসতে চাইছিলো না কিন্তু পরে শিশির কে উচিৎ শিক্ষা দেয়ার লোভে আসতে রাজি হয়েছে। শুনো খালামণি, তোমরা তো মনে করো, তোমরা যাদের ধরে নিয়ে আসো তারা হচ্ছে ধোয়া তুলসীপাতা আর সবচেয়ে যোগ্য। আর আমরা যাদের পছন্দ করি তারা হচ্ছে দুনিয়ার অযোগ্য। আসলে ব্যাপার টা হচ্ছে, ভালো খারাপ সব মানুষের মধ্যেই আছে। শুধু একপাক্ষিকভাবে বিচার করলে হয় না। আজ আমার সাথে যা হয়েছে, একই ঘটনা একটা ছেলের সাথেও ঘটতে পারে। এই যুগের ছেলে-মেয়েরা কেউ ই কারোর চেয়ে কম নয়। ছেলেদের মধ্যে যেমন শিশিররা রয়েছে, তেমনি মেয়েদের মধ্যেও এমন ভদ্র মুখোশধারী আছে। আর সবাই যে এমন, তা কিন্তু না। আমরা চোখ কান খোলা রেখে একটু সচেতন থাকলেই এ ধরনের অনাকাঙ্ক্ষিত ঘটনা এড়ানো সম্ভব।
পুরো কাহিনী শুনে বাবা হতাশ হয়ে বললেন,
– ঘটকের উপর আর ভরসা করতে পারছি না। তোর যদি কোনো পছন্দ থাকে বলতে পারিস মা।
– না না বাবা, আমার কোনো পছন্দ নেই। আমি তো জানি তুমি এসব মেনে নিবে না তাই কোনো রিলেশনে জড়াই নি এখনো।
বাবা আমার মাথায় হাত বুলিয়ে দিয়ে চলে গেলেন।
পরেরদিন খুব সকালে ঘুম থেকে উঠে সোজা চলে গেলাম মিথুনের অফিসে। অফিসের সামনে মিথুন কে দেখতে পেয়ে দৌঁড়ে গিয়ে তার বুকে ঝাঁপিয়ে পড়লাম। তারপর বুকে এলোপাথারি কিছু কিল ঘুষি মেরে বললাম,
– চুলের প্রেমিক তুমি? ঘাস খেয়ে প্রেম করতে আসছো? প্রেমিকার বিয়ে হয়ে যাচ্ছে আর তুমি হাত পা গুটিয়ে বসে ছিলে!
মিথুন আমাকে থামানোর চেষ্টা করতে করতে বললো,
– আরে আগে আমার কথাটা তো শুনো? হাত পা গুটিয়ে বসে থেকে তোমার ফিরে আসার অপেক্ষাই করছিলাম।
খানিকটা শান্ত হয়ে আমি জানতে চাইলাম,
– মানে?
– মানে আমি জানতাম তুমি ফিরে আসবে। বিয়ে টা যেভাবেই হোক বানচাল করে দিবে।
– কিভাবে জানতে?
– আমার চেয়ে ভাল তোমাকে আর কে বুঝে বলো!
আমি আবারো মিথুনের বুকে মুখ গুঁজে দিলাম। খানিক বাদে খেয়াল করলাম, জায়গা টা খুব নীরব। তৎক্ষণাত মনে পড়লো আমার, আজ তো শনিবার। মিথুনের বুক থেকে মুখ তুলে জিজ্ঞেস করলাম,
– আজ তো শনিবার। তাহলে অফিসের সামনে কি করছো?
– তুমি ফিরে আসবে জানতাম, সাথে এও জানতাম আবারো ভুল করে তুমি অফিসেই আমাকে খুঁজতে আসবে। আমার যে শনিবার অফ ডে,এটা তুমি কখনোই মনে রাখতে পারো না।
সারপ্রাইজ দিতে এসে আমি নিজেই সারপ্রাইজড হয়ে গেলাম। চোখ দুটো টলমল করছে আমার। এত ভালবাসা পাওয়ার যোগ্য না আমি।
বিয়ে বানচালের সব কাহিনী শুনে মিথুন বললো,
– তোমার তো ভয়ংকর বুদ্ধি! কিন্তু তোমার বাবা যখন জিজ্ঞেস করলেন, তোমার কোনো পছন্দ আছে কিনা তখন তুমি আমার কথা বললে না কেন?
– যেন পরে কোনো সমস্যা হলে ফ্যামিলির ঘাড়ে দোষ চাপাতে পারি।
মিথুন শুধু মুচকি হাসলো,
– কিন্তু তোমার তো এসব প্রি প্লানড ছিল। তাহলে ব্রেকআপের নাটক টা করার কি দরকার ছিল?
– উঁহু, তুমি না কিচ্ছু বুঝো না। ব্রেকআপ করে কিছুদনের জন্য তোমাকে দূরে সরিয়ে রেখেছি। নয়তো তুমি বারবার ফোন দিয়ে ঘ্যানরঘ্যানর করে আমার মন মেজাজ নষ্ট করে দিতে। ঠান্ডা মাথায় কাজ টা করতে পারতাম না।
– তা ঠিক। তোমার উপর যথেষ্ট বিশ্বাস থাকলেও,একটা ভয় সবসময় ই কাজ করতো। যদি কোনোভাবে তুমি বিয়ে টা করে ফেলো! তোমাকে যদি বাধ্য করা হয়! তখন আমি আর ঠিক থাকতে পারতাম না।
– ইশ, এত সহজ আমাকে কোনো কিছুতে বাধ্য করা! শুনো এখন তোমার কাজ হচ্ছে ঘটক কে দিয়ে আমার বাসায় প্রস্তাব পাঠানো।
– চিন্তা করো না, কাল পরশুর মধ্যে ঘটক চলে যাবে।
তিনদিন পর….
বাবা এসে বললেন,
– ঘটক সাহেব আরেকটা প্রস্তাব নিয়ে এসেছেন। এই নে ছবি, এটাকেও গার্লস গ্রুপে পাঠিয়ে দেখ তো মা, কোনো ঝামেলা আছে কিনা।
মিথুনের ছবি টা হাতে নিয়ে মনে মনে ভাবতে লাগলাম,
“এটার ক্যাপশন কি দেয়া যায়”

অবাক করা বিষয় কি জানেন? তুলি জানতো আজ আমি ওকে খুন করবো। এমনকি ও এটাও জানতো যে দুধে বিষ আছে। তারপরও ও আমার হাত থেকে
দুধটা হাসি মুখে খেয়ে নিলো।
দুধ খেয়ে বললো আমি তোমাকে শেষ বারের মত জড়িয়ে ধরে তোমার চোখে একটা চুমো খাবো? আমি কিছু বলতে পারিনি। কি বলবো? শুধু ওকে শক্ত করে বুকের মাঝে জড়িয়ে
ধরেছিলাম। ও আমার চোখে একটা চুমো দিলো। তারপর আমার বুকে ঘুমিয়ে পরলো। আমি ওকে বিছানায় শুইয়ে দিয়ে আসলাম।

ছিঃ এ কথা মুখে আনাও পাঁপ। কারন তুলি ছিলো যথেষ্ট ধার্মিক মেয়ে। ওর পুরো পৃথিবী জুড়ে ছিলাম শুধু আমি আর আমাদের সংসার।
তাহলে আমি তুলিকে মারলাম কেন? হুম শুনলে আপনাদের বুক কেঁপে উঠবে।
তুলিকে মেরেছি কারন আমার মা বলেছে। এখন আপনারা বলবেন মা বলেছে বলে আমি তুলিকে মেরে কেন ফেললাম? কারন মা তুলিকে ঘৃনা করতো আর আমি আমার মাকে খুব
ভালোবাসি। মা কখনোই তুলিকে
পছন্দ করতেন না।

তার একমাত্র কারন হচ্ছে তুলি অনাথ। ওর জন্ম পরিচয়ের ঠিক নাই। ছোট বেলা থেকে অনাথ আশ্রমে বড় হয়েছে। নিজের অভিজ্ঞতা আর কঠিন প্রচেষ্টায় তুলি অনার্স
কমপ্লিট করেছে।ভালোবেসে বিয়ে করেছিলাম আমরা। আমাদের ভালোবাসাটা বাবা মা কখনোই মেনে নেয়নি। তবুও তাদের অমতে জোড় করে আমি তুলিকে বিয়ে করি। তুলিও তাদের অমতে বিয়ে করতে
চায়নি কিন্তু আমার জেদের কাছে হার মানতে হলো।
আমাদের বিয়ের পর তুলি আমাদের বাড়ির সবার খুব খেয়াল রাখতো। বিশেষ করে বাবা মায়ের। কিন্তু তবুও
মা পান থেকে চুন খসলেই তুলিকে যা তা বলে গালি দিতো। মাঝে মাঝেতুলিকে অবৈধ পাঁপও বলতো। তুলি কখনোই তাদের মুখের উপর কোন কথা
বলতো না। চুপচাপ নিচের দিকে
তাকিয়ে থাকতো।
ওর কষ্টটা আমি আমার ভালোবাসা দিয়ে ভুলাতে চেষ্টা করতাম। তুলিকে আমি কয়েকবার বলেছিলাম চলো আমরা আলাদা বাড়ি ভাড়া নিয়ে উঠি! কিন্তু ও বলতো বাবা মা যতই বকা দিক তারা কিন্তু বাবা মাই। জন্মের পর থেকে তুলি কখনো বাবা
মায়ের স্নেহ ভালোবাসা পায়নি।
ভেবেছিলো বিয়ের পর সেটা পুরন হবে। কিন্তু কথায় আছে না তৃষ্নার্ত যেখানেই যায় সাগর শুকিয়ে যায়।
তখন যদি তুলি আমার কথামত আলাদা বাড়িতে যেতে রাজি হতো তাহলে ওর মৃত্যু হতো না।
কিছুদিন থেকে মা খুব অসুস্থ ছিলেন। তুলি মাকে খুব সেবা যত্ন করতো। সেদিন মা আমায় রুমে একা ডাকলেন। আমি যাওয়ার পর মা বললো
মাঃ= বাবা তোর কাছে কিছু চাইবো দিবি? আমার শেষ চাওয়া। শেষ ইচ্ছা। মায়ের কথায় খুব কষ্ট হচ্ছিলো। শত
হলেও নিজের মা তো?
আমিঃ হ্যা বলো মা।
মাঃ আগে আমাকে ছুয়ে প্রতিজ্ঞা কর যে আমি যা বলবো তাই শুনবি।
আমিঃ ঠিক আছে মা প্রতিজ্ঞা
করলাম। ( মাকে ওয়াদা করাটাই আমার জীবনের চড়ম কাল হয়ে দাড়ালো। )
মাঃ তুই ঐ পাঁপকে বিদায় কর। নয়তো মেরে ফেল। ও যতদিন থাকবে আমি মরেও শান্তি পাবো না।
মাকে কিছু বলতে চাইছিলাম কিন্তু মাবলতে দিলো না। মা বললেন দেখ তুই আমাকে ছুয়ে প্রতিজ্ঞা করছিস। এখন বল তোর মা বড় না বৌ।
আমি কোন কথা না বলে ঘর থেকে চলে আসছিলাম।
দেখলাম তুলি জল হাতে দাড়িয়ে আছে। ওর চোখ থেকে জল পড়ছে। মানে ও সবটা শুনেছে।
আমি কথা না বলে ঘরে চলে আসলাম। সেদিন রাতে তুলি নিজে থেকেই আমায় অনেক আদর করলো।

ভালোবাসায় ভরিয়ে দিলো আমার মনটাকে। আমায় পরিপূর্ন করলো ওর রাঙানো ভালোবাসায়। শেষ রাতে আমায় বললো
তুলিঃ তোমার জায়গায় আমি থাকলে আমি আমার মায়ের কথা মানতাম।
আমি অবাক দৃষ্টিতে তুলির দিকে তাকিয়ে ছিলাম। আমার চোখ দুটো দিয়ে জল পড়ছিলো।
তুলি আমার চোখের নিচে চুম্মা দিয়ে আমার চোখের জল গুলোকে মুছে দিলো।
গত দুদিন তুলি আমায় এত ভালোবাসা দিয়েছে যা কল্পনার বাইরে। হয়তো এটাই ওর শেষ ভালোবাসা। আর আজ আমি তুলিকে মারলাম।
তুলি এটাতো জানতো যে আমি ওকে মারবো কিন্তু ও কি এটা বুঝতে পারেনি যে আমি ওকে ছাড়া বাঁচবো না।
ও কি ভেবেছে আমি মায়ের কথা শুনবো আর আমার ভালোবাসার মান রাখবো না? হুমমম তা কি হয়? আমি মায়ের কথায় যেমন তুলিকে মেরে ফেললাম। তেমনি তুলির ভালোবাসার মান রাখতে তুলির সাথে এক হয়ে এক সাথে দুজন পরপারে পাড়ি জমাবো।
জানি উপরওয়ালা আমায় মাফ করবে না। তুলিকে খেতে দেয়া অর্ধেক পরিমান দুধ আমি নিজের জন্য রেখেছিলাম। সেটা এইমাত্র খেলাম।
মাকে কিছু কথা বলার আছে—–
মা তুমি জানো, মায়ের স্থান কাউকে দেয়া যায় না। ঈশ্বরের পর মায়ের স্থান। কিন্তু মা , মা যদি বক্ষ্য হয়, স্ত্রী তবে হৃদয়। বক্ষ্য ছাড়া যেমন মানুষ বাঁচতে পারে না তেমনি হৃদয়
ছাড়াও বাঁচতে পারে না। দুজনই

আমিতোমার কথা রাখলাম। সাথে আমার ভালোবাসার মর্যাদাও রাখলাম। মা তোমার শেষ ইচ্ছা তো আমি পূরন করলাম। এবার তুমি আমার শেষ ইচ্ছা পূরন করবে মা? মা আমাকে আর তুলিকে এক জায়গাই পাশাপাশি একই চিতা তে দাহ কোরো।
আর হ্যাঁ মা তিনজনের শ্রাদ্ধ কোরো। তিন জন কে সেটা ভাবছো তো? আমি,তুলি আর আমাদের অনাগত সন্তান।

বলেছিলো না মা আপনাদের নাতি নাতনি থাকলে কেমন হতো? সেদিন তুমি তুলিকে বলেছিলে তোর সন্তান তোর মতই পাঁপ হবে।

ও আমার নিজের সন্তান। আমার রক্ত ছিলো।
মা আমি জানি কাল তুমি খুব কাঁদবে। তোমার আর্তনাতে পুরো বাড়ি কেঁপে উঠবে। কিন্তু মা তোমার সন্তান মরেছে বলে তুমি এত কষ্ট পাবে, তাহলে আমার সন্তানের জন্য আমার ঠিক কতটা কষ্ট হচ্ছে তা তুমি বুঝতে

জানো মা আজ তুলিকে মারার পর আমি বিছানার নিচ থেকে
একটা কাগজ পাই। সেটা থেকেই আমি জানতে পারি আমি বাবা হতে চলেছি।
