Food plays the biggest role in keeping the lungs healthy. With age, those whose lung function has deteriorated as a result of excessive environmental pollution and various ailments need to take special care of their diet.

Health and lifestyle website Boldsky reports, citing the American Lung Association, that healthy fats should be eaten instead of carbohydrates. This is because carbohydrates produce more carbon dioxide during digestion and beneficial fats produce less carbon dioxide during digestion. As a result, the lungs remain healthy.

Let's take a look at what kind of food should be eaten to keep the lungs healthy to fight the disease.

Water:

Drink two to three liters or more of water daily to maintain good lung health and immunity. This keeps the blood circulation in the lungs normal and the mucus thin. As a result, it is convenient to expel contaminants and germs through sneezing and coughing.

Green Tea:

Green tea is a very beneficial drink for our body. It contains high levels of antioxidants, which reduce pneumonia and increase efficacy. So drink two cups of green tea every day.

Raw turmeric:

Turmeric has been used in Asia not only as a spice but also as a medicine for more than a thousand years. An antioxidant in turmeric, curcumin protects the lungs from the effects of contaminants and reduces inflammation. You can chew raw turmeric every morning. If you don't want to eat only turmeric, you can also eat honey and turmeric together.

I find your article very helpful to me. Personally ive been diagnosed with pneumonia before. The doctor told me that once u catch pneumonia, it will hit you back if you will not take good care of yourself. There are times that i cannot breath properly when the weather is cold or hot. There are times that i cannot sleep weel because of difficulty in breathing and even i take medicine nothing change. Thankfully i'm better now..thank you again for this informative article.

As far as I remember, eating green leafy vegetables was a way to go, for maintaining healthy lungs. Just like what a carabao does, eating only vegetation. That's why carabaos have strong lungs to keep them going while assisting farmers in their fields.

I believed the efficacy of turmeric and green tea. Specially today's pandenic its good to include in our health regimen. But since I am suffering with hyper acidity its a big no for me. It will trigger a pang of acidity with me resulting to bloating of gas and barping. Of all three water is tolerated.
