Kusina ni Camila is located in Pug-os Cabugao, Ilocos Sur. It is only 30 minutes away from Vigan City and 1-hour from Laoag Cuty. It is just so near the highway, like 5-minutes walk, and you will see and experience the sandy cove. Some claim it as the 'Boracay of the North' and I am confident to say that we have the best beach place here in Ilocos Sur.
A project which started from a single nipa hut with some table sets for rent under. However, during our random coastal clean-up drive, my sister and her friend thought of adding an extension to that nipa hut. They were also challenged by the fact that nearby barangays are already making noise because their place already attracts tourists. One is located in Sabang Cabugao which is known for their surfing area and their version of baywalk.
They formed a team and started brain storming together with some friends and our gay uncle who is a master of landscaping and designing. So they gathered all the materials needed, the manpower required to make this project work. And as the project starting to come to life, the ideas also keeps coming and it's just so amazing how it turned out. Most of the materials are bamboo and the what we call 'lanot' or huge vines which they creatively designed in different areas of this project. Common, let's have a tour!
There are two open deck areas with a small bridge connecting them. From there you can see the perfect view of the beach.
What are the highlights in the view deck?
Buffalo carriage which were bought from farmers in our barangay. Where the group could take a pose their with the beach as their background.
A huge basket which were also being used during the olden times to carry farmer's freshly harvested crops. The kids and the kids at heart would love to take a pose inside this basket.
The bridge which connects the two decks. It gives a feeling of excitement especially when the kids enjoys running to and from one deck to another. And it's also nice to take a pose and walk there and feel like a model or a beauty queen walking in the aisle.
The web which is made up of the huge vines. This is one of the kids' favorites, they could climb up there like and pose like their favorite superhero.
What else can we see in Kusina ni Camila?
Aside from staring the serene view of the sea from the view deck, you can also have picnic downstairs by renting the cottages.
Kusina ni Camila offers some of the famous Ilocano specialties like empanadana, papaitan, sinanglaw, and more. But you can bring your own food if you want☺️.
Feel the cool sea breeze while lying in the hammock.
Explore the whole beach area while riding in the atv's.
Stay overnight with some friends, you can rent or bring your own tents.
If you're lucky, you can also watch and even join the fishermen casting their nets.
There is also Milktea ni Camila if you need some refreshments.
Pug-os beach is already a great place to just sit back, relax and recharge. Kusina ni Camila is just an accessory of this beautiful scenery.
