Have you ever wondered what the depths of the sea hide?
Are there animals we don’t know exist?
Look at this animal and say have you ever seen it?
Instead of an answer, I will introduce you to one of the most beautiful animals
Glaucus atlanticus, better known as the Blue Dragon or Sea Swallow, is a species of small sea snail in the Glaucidae family. Growing about 3 cm, they can be found across the world’s oceans in temperate and tropical waters. In addition to its unusual appearance, the Blue Dragon has also developed an unusual way of moving. There is a small bag of gas in their stomach that allows them to float along with the waves - and that's it. The only mode of transport for these sea snails.
Due to the blue color on the stomach, and the silver color on the back, when the Blue Dragons float upside down, they are almost invisible both from the depths of the sea and from the air. When they are on land, they curl up and spread again only when they enter the water.
Glaucus atlanticus is a hermaphrodite, ie it has both male and female reproductive organs. After mating, both individuals produce eggs.
And their food is extremely unusual. These snails eat poisonous jellyfish known as the Portuguese cruiser or physalis. Not only can the poison not harm them, but they even store it in special bags in their body, which they can later use for their own self-defense. This is exactly the reason why some people are more afraid of these snails, even than the poisonous jellyfish themselves.
I think you liked this little animal, it's beautiful. Take a look and you'll like the video. You will see that dragons not only live on land in fairy tales, but also in the sea
