Can someone please enlighten me how can the number of up votes be greater then the number of views. While going through all the three sections- new, first post and hot, I am noticing it. Am I wrong or something fishy is going on.

It is all a scam, liking without seeing. Again done by people of two countries you had mentioned in one of your article.
Members of the platform can upvote directly from the home page without actually opening articles. That is why you are seeing that discrepancy.
But how can one like or dislike something without seeing it. And why would someone do that.
I think what drives those who do it is to give as many upvotes to articles as possible with the hope of accumulating more points.
OK, so that is a trick to get more points.
I can not say for certain if the attempt at tricking the system actually works though. Those doing from my observation are just doing it hoping that it works and I suspect the system should have noticed such by now as more users are drawing attention to this discrepancy.
If you are part of an upvote circle and they do not care about commenting or... If it is a bug and the great friend keeps pressing the upvote button fast after each other
