In my downtime, I usually listen to Church songs or worship songs. I am already a fan of Church songs since I was in high school. I even sing church songs when I had my 1st born. Especially when I let her sleep.
However, I got influenced by listening to Christian songs because of my ex-boyfriend. He loves to listen to Casting Crowns songs. He shared with me his favorite Christian songs and when I have begun to listen to all the songs he loves, I slowly love to listen to them. I love how each word from the songs suits me. I can reflect on myself in every song. So I think we meet people for a reason and I am thankful that God let me meet that ex-boyfriend of mine.
So here is the list of the songs I love to listen to when I am feeling down.
If you want to hear the songs just click the given songs below.
The Voice of Truth - Casting Crowns
I Know You're There - Casting Crowns
Listen To Our Hearts- Casting Crowns
The Hurt and The Healer-Mercy Me
Lift Up Your Hands-Basil Baldez
Siya-Danny Sillano and Reuben Abante
Who Am I
I already heard this song before and I just love how each word of the song fits on me. Especially the line
Not because of who I am
But because of what You've done
Not because of what I've done
But because of who You are
The Voice of Truth
The lyrics of the song will remind you that no matter what happens God is there, that every struggle you are facing He is always there.
I Know You're There
This song reminds me that I know that God is always there.
That He is the air I breathe and He is always there to listen.
Whenever I need him He is just there.
Listen To Our hearts
So if You listen to my heart
Every beat will say
Thank You for the Life
Thank You for the Truth
Thank You for the Way
This line says it all.
I am so thankful to God for the life, the truth, and the way He helps me in every way. In Every problem, I encounter in my life.
Grace
I ask you, "How many times will you pick me up
When I keep on letting you down?"
And each time I will fall short of Your glory
How far will forgiveness abound?
And You answer, "My child, I love you
And as long as you're seeking My face
You'll walk in the power of My daily sufficient grace"
Honestly, I heard this song for the first time just exactly like I am laboring to my second child. It was June 25, 2020. I was teary-eyed when I heard this song. As a sinner, yeah I do a lot of mistakes in my life, like one of them is punishable by God's law.
I was so touched by the line "How far will forgiveness abound?
And you answer, "My child, I love you. I was so emotional that time knowing that God still forgives me for everything that I've done and I always feel how much He love me.
Blessings
I came to know this song first before the "Grace" song as they have the same singer Laura Story.
'Cause what if Your blessings come through raindrops
What if Your healing comes through tears
What if a thousand sleepless nights are what it takes to know You're near
What if trials of this life are Your mercies in disguise
Those lines are so perfect to describe that even if we are in pain those are still blessings from God, cause through that pain God strengthen our faith, our belief in God.
Just like whenever I get delayed from going to work I see it as God's sign to protect me from any harm.
And Yes for me crying is my of healing from the pain that I feel. After crying I feel better.
The Hurt and The Healer
I'm alive
Even though a part of me has died
You take my heart and breathe it back to life
I fall into Your arms open wide
When the hurt and the healer collide
Like I am dying not the literal dying but loss of hope.
God is always been there to remind me that everything will be okay and everything happens for a reason.
You are Near
Yahweh, I know you are near
Standing always at my side
You guard me from the foe
And you lead me in ways everlasting
I honestly love this song because of its tone. It just so relaxing to listen until I came to realize and understand its lyrics.
God is always there to guide me, protect me from any danger, and lead me to the right path. I use to sing this song when I let my daughter sleep when she was still a baby. Now that she's grown up she also loves to sing all the songs that I love to listen to.
Lift Up Your Hands
Life is not all that bad, my friends, hmm
If you believe in yourself
If you believe there's Someone
Who walks through life without you
You'll never be alone
Just learn to reach out,
And open your heart
Lift up your hands to God,
And He'll show you the way.
Like yeah, life is not all that bad. Maybe just a chapter of my life. And because of God, I believe in myself that I can do anything. God is there to show me the right way.
Siya
The song is about life is meaningful. That even if sometimes we feel that our life has no direction, we know that God is there to always guide us. That God is everything.
My life is far away from being perfect. I made a lot of mistakes in life and I am just so thankful that God never leaves me. To be honest I am not a religious person. I don't even remember when was the last time I go to church but don't get me wrong I do believe in God and his power. I always believe in his miracle. God is my best friend. Whenever I feel down I always talk to God. Some people may wonder how I manage to surpass all the struggles I've been through and I told him because I have God.
Every time I have a problem I just think of it as a test from God. Pains and struggles are the reason why I am what I am today.
Why I am strong? Because I already experienced the toughest trials in life. I never ask God to lessen my burdens in life but instead, I ask him to give me more strength so I can overcome all the trials I've been through.
Final Thoughts
As they say, it's not the load that matters, it's how you carry them. I always believe that everything happens for a reason. It might be hard for us to understand his reason but I always believe that God's plan is the best.

Casting Crowns was introduced to me by a co-worker. It was our downtime then so he played some music instead. When I heard Voice of Truth, I instantly fell in love with the band. I do listen to them too occasionally.
