In another article dedicated to prominent figures in the Bitcoin Cash space, today I chose the name of Josh Ellithorpe, a name that is not unknown in the community much for the good work he does helping in the infrastructure of the smartBCH DeFi ecosystem and also as a project creator like ReapersNFT on the side-chain. Not only does Josh participate in the Bitcoin Cash infrastructure but he also has a project on the Ethereum network that is already making big waves in the digital art space, Clementine NFT.

It is necessary, however, first of all to find out who Josh Ellithorpe is so that we know how and when he entered the world of Bitcoin Cash.

Who is Josh Ellithorpe,

Josh Ellithorpe, according to thenewstack.io, is an open source lover who started working in the tech world in the mid nineties, he is an American native of Chicago, always chasing open source he launches his first project in 2001. Josh is a software engineer so he decided to venture into the world of technology in other parts of the North American territory and decided to settle in San Francisco, having worked in large and emerging technological corporations at the time, such as Facebook and Involve developing applications.

He also worked at Apcera with a focus on revolutionizing the cloud, and later after leaving the company went to work for the giant San Francisco-based cryptocurrency trading giant Coinbase.

At Coinbase, Josh Ellithorpe was a senior software developer, and according to an interview with news website Bitcoin.com conducted by Jamie Redman, he started working at the corporation in early 2017.

His entry into the crypto ecosystem

Josh joined the crypto ecosystem very early and in mid-2009 he had already read the Bitcoin whitepaper and that was like opening a Pandora box because, he said to himself - “This is going to be the next big thing” but at that time he did not venture into the world of cryptocurrencies as it was just an intellectual curiosity for him and for an open source lover it was to be expected.

For someone who has always cherished the open source system, following the development of a new world focused on decentralized money that could not be copied or altered in any way was a marvel and certainly a technological revolution. Only the year 2012 and after being focused on other work and personal matters he enters the cryptocurrency ecosystem much more seriously.

Every time he learned more about the crypto world, Josh realized that the system was really revolutionary and was more appealing than the traditional money system, where he also increasingly believed that Bitcoin definitely had a chance to change things.

His relationship with Bitcoin Cash,

Josh Ellithorpe is a staunch supporter of Bitcoin Cash and like many who really understand what the fundamentals are for a cryptocurrency to be used as digital money was disappointed with the rodmap by which Bitcoin Core (BTC) was guided by abandoning the Bitcoin community but of course wishing all the best with the lightning network.

He disagreed with the roadmap because for Josh Bitcoin has to scale and only then can it have enough resources to have, first a user base that could later expand into the business world and then into a data sphere. Josh likes Bitcoin Cash for its usefulness and never worried about seeing currency gain more purchasing power or go to the moon, his motivation and inspiration came from Bitcoin Cash being digital money that could easily be used, where there is no worry in fees, accessibility or even speed,

Money without interference by a third party where the user had the power in his hands and could decide what to do with it in a totally decentralized way, his involvement with Bitcoin Cash was not about making money, but about the utility that the currency have.

Involvement with infrastructure in the Bitcoin Cash ecosystem,

Josh has stood out with his involvement in the Bitcoin Cash ecosystem, in addition to having created a digital art project, the famous NFTs, but in addition he has stood out in the Bitcoin Cash infrastructure where he has built some indispensable tools for the SmartBCH continues to browse smoothly and without any problems.

His works can be checked out on GitHub where they are displayed so everyone can see how important his involvement is.

Summary,

In the Bitcoin Cash community we have a lot of influential people, people who truly believe in decentralized digital money, Josh is one of them, but we have many, some that go unnoticed and others even more active and participatory. It is these figures that we have to immortalize and put them on a deserved pedestal, the community is also made of recognition for the achievements they have achieved.

There are builders, sharing awareness, onboarding people, teaching about Bitcoin Cash etc, all of them having a great part to the success of the ecosystem.

I sincerely hope that Josh Ellithorpe as well as other prominent figures and names on the community can still share awareness about Bitcoin Cash, and people like us digital writers will dedicate a space so that their contribution is not forgotten in the community.
