The title seems a little vague but as the article unfolds, everyone will understand why I used the term "Bitcoin Cash is Freedom" beginning with a very long-standing example that happened in my country and put everyone without access to their bank funds, a situation a caricature but that never left my mind and it was certainly one of several reasons that led me to choose more decentralized means of storing values.
The year 2018 passed and everything was fine, it is not supposed to be, and banks work at full steam and everyone deposited and raised money normally using ATMs spread across the great Maputo, it was already 10 pm when I had to raise some money for the famous "chapa" the next morning, by the way" chapa "is the name given to public transport in Mozambique and needed because I had a job interview scheduled right in the center of the city in the next morning. I went slowly to the ATM when I noticed a somewhat unusual flood at that time of day, after all it was already night and when I got closer to see what was really happening I realized that there was a problem with the ATM systems to which was saying "system out of service" but people were there because they believed it was a temporary problem and everything would be back to normal. Well that never happened for more than 1 week!
That's right- the system was out of service for over a full week, with the development of events we were just discovering that it was not only that ATM that was not operational but all ATMs that operate with Visa banking system managed by SIMO (Mozambican interbank company) because the company that supplied the System unilaterally decided to shut down its entire powerful system because this same Banking company was indebted to them. Exactly they pulled the switch button off and the whole Mozambican banking system was paralyzed and nobody could withdraw any money from these banks, everything was blackout, huge queues were made in the Banks but all in vain because the company controlled the entire system which is a centralized entity that could demand and enforce what the State owed without even worrying about the customers who were left without access to financial banking services.
That was the first time that I saw a national banking system and the Mozambican state being threatened by a company providing computerized electronic services to cut all business relationships if they do not meet their requirements and pay the debt to them, this act led many people to lose big investments, after the banks had serious problems with the state and once again showed how fragile the centralized system is. Consequences, the banks had to pay high fines to the state, the state was committed to the lack of transparency in its financial public system and the ordinary citizen was terribly affected by the situation because even with the money in their accounts they could not even move it. In this situation, the centralized system lost and another reason was born in my mind to adopt the decentralized system and obtain wide advantages.
Why Bitcoin Cash is freedom
Remember that for not being able to collect the necessary amount for my transport that day when the blackout started in the Mozambican banking system, I did not have the opportunity to do the interview, I was all shaken and furious, not with the banking system but with myself because I always went a lot for blockchain and the decentralized world but for reasons beyond my control I had to subjugate myself to the traditional system and I paid dearly for that. I learned the hard way that money in the bank is not yours but the state's and banks work for them not for the benefit of customers, the customer is and will always be an income product for financial institutions, quite the opposite of Bitcoin Cash.
Bitcoin Cash is independent, decentralized works in open source and nothing can be omitted in the blockchain, who uses Bitcoin Cash has the power to receive, send value any time they want, 24 hours a day and 365 days a year without interoperability by paying absurdly reduced fees with extremely fast transactions. No matter where in the world the receiver is, he will always receive the amount in real time, without delay and without having to ask the state or bank for permission to make the transactions, imagine if I had Bitcoin Cash in the blackout, I would simply have got the value of transportation and I would get the job or not, but one thing is for sure I would be free from the bonds of the state and its machinations.
