The first photograph was shot in the morning and shows the table rose bud waiting to bloom after the sun rises fully. This was at around 7 am. The second photo was shot when I came home for lunch at around 1 pm. You can see that both buds have bloomed and you can see their delicate beauty and lovely yellow shade. It's amazing how much the transformation is in just a few hours.

My Moka Pot / Stovetop Espresso Maker. This isn't the original Bialetti moka pot, but an adaptation and one among many models. It costs less than 10$. It's got a base to fill water in, a filter to put the ground coffee powder in and a top with spout to collect the brewed coffee that travels up through the coffee powder, filter and the spout. It's interesting to watch! It's reasonably easy to make. Fill water in the lower base, place the filter on it, as the coffee…
ABBA: The band name was probably an acronym for their members - Agnetha Fältskog, Björn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson, and Anni-Frid. They were one of the most popular music bands in the 70s and 80s. Their harmony and range of music was amazing and they took pop music to new heights. There's still a burning desire among many music artists to recreate the magic of some of their numbers. https://youtu.be/-crgQGdpZR0 "TAKE A CHANCE ON ME" was one of their catchy tunes and probably…
What month is it? Surely a human would be able to know. But would a CAPTCHA that is testing your humanhood know? Apparently no! An entity that does not know what humans know is trying to test if you are human. But all is fair in the wwworld apparently. June July No CAPTCHA bot, it's August.
What do you do with the corner slice of bread? As a child, I'd never eat the corner slice of bread for some reason - it was harder on the outside and shaped a little weirder than the regular slices of bread. Even now, I find my kids don't eat it. But I force myself to eat it. I still prefer the other 'regular'slices to the corner piece, but don't want to waste it. I wonder if the corner slice knows it's not as popular as the rest of the bread slices!!

Here's a calming, spiritual song for your Sunday, sung in a regional language, TAMIL. It talks about the goodness of God and is sung beautifully. It is a simple song and looks like something a church congregation could easily learn and sing. Recorded in a very simple studio setting, Zac and Natasha really add some depth to the vocalists. Natasha is very expressive! https://youtu.be/rFtOJPQofnk Get your Sunday off to a great start with this song. Even if you don't understand…
I was looking through my affiliate list today as one more joined today and my eyes popped out when I saw the date on which this person had joined. We all know August has 31 days. It starts with 1st of August. This person's join date is shown as "August 0"!! I'm sure it's a minor script glitch, but I love it when noise errors and glitches make me smile rather than frustrate me!!
How strong can you cling on to something? Both domestic lizards and garden lizards can scale walls and ceilings with ease. They apparently have suckers on their feet for this. This fellow, a garden lizard, was clinging on to the fence with ease. This is like us hanging on to a bar and bearing our weight with our arms and feet with ease. Not only is it bearing it's weight, it is also balancing itself perfectly still. It was like this for a long time and allowed me to take…
How do you kill / repel mosquitoes? The photograph shows the macabre sight of a mosquito that was swatted to death on my forearm. But not before it had bit and caused an itchy wheal on my forearm. What are safe and effective ways to ward off these evil, disease causing, blood thirsty insects? - shut all doors and windows after 6 pm - use mosquito repellents - use a mosquito killing electric bat - swat them Let me know your suggestions.
I made a mistake! A few days ago, I noticed that my wife's bodywash was almost over and thought I'd be the nice hubby. I hurriedly dropped in to the store on my way back from work and quickly picked up a body wash. Fiama Tea Tree aroma. That sounded perfect! I dreamt about her smelling heavenly after a bath and came back home super happy at being a loving husband. My son pointed out the disastrous mistake I had made as soon as I showed him. I was devastated! But my wife is a…
Have you ever noticed that on reCAPTCHA, when you are asked to mark boats, the boats are never usually on water. It's a picture of them on a trailer, on a dock, in a garage, etc. I wonder if bots can figure out that they are boats if there is no water around the boats. Here is an example.
The end of my coffee.... How do you feel when your cuppa is done? I'm staring at the froth at the bottom of my cup. I enjoy the aftertaste of the coffee in my mouth and tongue. The taste seems to linger in the back of the tongue longer. I love the warm feeling as the coffee courses through my blood and nerves, waking each cell up. I'm ready for the day now! You can stare at the milk-coffee froth at the bottom of my glass for a while and get inspired too! #Coffee
Filthy! (Warning: rant post ahead!) This is the scene just across from the wall of our large apartment complex. There is a narrow brook of eater flowing next to the wall and then a few houses on the other sie of this brook. The people staying on the other side of the flowing water treat the water as a free flowing dustbin. Every morning they dump garbage on it. It's so filthy, that the water is now black and there is a stench that gets across to our homes too. There's…
I'd posted a couple of weeks earlier that one of my favorite songs during the pandemic was a song called Chattan (Meaning ROCK). This song is musically brilliant and the lyrics are so meaningful. It has been a source of strength to many during lockdowns and the pandemic. There are several versions of the song that I listen to. I finally managed to round up my favorite versions. I had a tough time choosing as there are dozens of versions that I enjoy. Anyway, after a lot of…
Does water kept for 2 days in a bottle go bad? I left my water bottle half filled at work on Saturday when I finished work. Today is Monday. It's stored in a metal water bottle that is clean. It was kept closed. I drank the water and it tasted normal. I guess this is a silly doubt, but I've seen people throw away water in a bottle after a few hours saying it's not good to drink!! Photos: This is my 8 year old water bottle that has been going strong. The outside paint is…
"View out of my workplace window on a cloudy day" The window at my workplace is in a little niche in a corner of the small room. It overlooks a service balcony and a large, old tree. Being a cloudy day, the sun was not bright buy managed to filter its way through the cloud cover. I took a little break from my desk and stared at the sun above this old tree for a while. I then slipped my phone through the window grill and took this photo. Maybe my colleagues thought I was…
I feel like a MasterChef finalist now! My culinary skills are nothing to write home about, but as a dad and husband, I have to satisfy my kids hungry tummies once in a while. Came back from work and accomplished this is 10 minutes! So here it is - popcorn tenderly popped in a random vessel covered with an ill-fitting lid. I ended up getting sprayed with a few popping kernels when I lifted the lid to take a photograph. Here is a collage of my journey to the finals of the kids…
Right now there are continuous squeals of laughter from both my children as they watch something on TV. Guess what it is? TOM AND JERRY! This was my favorite cartoon show in school and I'm glad my kids get to watch it too, thanks to YouTube! It feels violent compared to the modern generation of kids cartoons, but all of us who watched it turned out to be proper adults didn't we!!
Should Noise get themselves Brave verified? It says that the website is not verified and configured to receive tips or BAT from Brave browser users. I know a lot of noise members use Brave browser. Should we request admin to get this domain Brave verified so that we can tip them?
SHOT! Late night basketball yieded some exciting moments for my son. I managed to catch these 2 shots being sunk. The first was from beneath the basket and the second was from the court. You can see the ball just entering the net after going through the hoop. Since there was low light and this was a handheld mobile shot, the picture is not clear and the ball is blurred. Technical issues aside, this is so much fun!!
I missed uploading the second shot for this post. So here it is. https://noise.cash/post/l8vn8p0g
The much awaited bonus RLT offer from rollercoin is here for this week only. For this week, starting today, the Block Reward of RLT has been increased 2X! If you'd like to buy miners etc for the game, RLT is quite useful. I've kept 90% of my earnings as RLT for this week. I hope at the end of this promotion, I'll have enough to get a miner. #Rollercoin
Can you help me make these potatoes sprout? My son is supposed to have a school activity of taking photographs of making something sprout. They had suggested ginger or potato. Will this potato sprout if I just keep it in a glass bowl of water? Please let me know if I should cut them and then put them, which side up or down, should I add anything to the water and if I should submerge them completely. How long will it take? I've seen these grow when I bury them in soil, but I…
Focus Shift. The morning started off bright and sunny with a touch of clouds. My cactus plant obviously loved it. Here are 2 photographs - one focussing on the cactus plant with the blurry sun in the background and the other focusing on the sun with the cactus blurry in the foreground. Which do you think shows you the weather better? Do share your opinion!
Does Noise allow its members to post links to their read.cash articles here? If you write a short gist of what the article is about and then lead on to the link, will it get marked as spam. I've seen several people do this especially in the read.cash channel here. Some people even just post a link with no written content! Could someone tell us what is allowed and what is not allowed please.
Remember the age when we could laugh at ourself and pole fun of others? These days, both the above would be politically incorrect and land us in hot water! "Land Down Under" was a humourous look at Australian culture and geography and was a super hit. The tune was simply catchy and the lyrics were hilarious! Enjoy the song noisers!! https://youtu.be/XfR9iY5y94s
Rainfall!! What was unusual about today's rainfall is that it started just as we were leaving work on the bike. It usually rains only at night. It's a short ride home and we almost reached the gate while it was still drizzling lightly, when the clouds broke loose and it rained torrentially. It takes 30 seconds to get soaked, I just discovered. Attaching 2 quick photographs of the actual 'rain'. The first is the downward view from the balcony edge showing the rain drops going…
