Does water kept for 2 days in a bottle go bad? I left my water bottle half filled at work on Saturday when I finished work. Today is Monday. It's stored in a metal water bottle that is clean. It was kept closed. I drank the water and it tasted normal. I guess this is a silly doubt, but I've seen people throw away water in a bottle after a few hours saying it's not good to drink!! Photos: This is my 8 year old water bottle that has been going strong. The outside paint is peeling off, but it is in good condition. This is very different from any plastic bottle which usually breaks or fades and gets scuffed.
