Apparently life teaches us a lot as the day goes by, among the many things we learnt we can deny that we now see the importance of watching our words. Popular saying is watch your tongue, it all signifies the same thing, it's a call to making someone say the right or better thing rather than say words that may provoke consequences. Well it's no breaking news that most people no longer care on how their words would hurt the next person, they just do what they please and say how they like it, whichever way the recipient receives the message is not their concern.
Many are in trouble today because of what they have said, many would be in trouble if they don't learn to say things carefully. You know most times, we don't see everything that happens because our eyes needs to be focused, but then our ears has no filter, it hears every thing that's spoken around its path. If an occurrence is happening behind you, you can possibly see it, because you have no eyes fixed at the back of your head, but you can catch up with that same behind you just by using your ears to be attentive.
Remember the Bible already adviced us on this, saying watch your tongue, the power of life and death are in the tongue, in other words what we have in our mouth is a powerful tool, we aren't fully aware of its potentials and so we talk carelessly. Imagine as a parent and you can't watch your tongue in the presence of your children, firstly it would make you lose your ground in correcting them when they too speak bad languages or say hurtful words. Moreso you teach them yourself because home is also a place they learn, its better when you someone does something but knows it's bad, but in that case scenario, they might not see anything wrong in speaking in such manners, moreover mom or dad speaks like that also.
Not limited to the law court room would whatever you say be used against you, it is very much applicable in more grounds, what you say and the manner at which it is spoken has a way to shape that persons impression about you. You know what they say, first impression matters much, so in cases where you meet up with someone and because of the warm welcoming you feel so relaxed to talk as you like, forgetting you also have an impression to create or maintain, this has made many people lose good offers, as their careless talks makes it feels like they can't keep a secret, or they can't relate well to people, or don't care for emotions, you words has a lot to speak about you too.
A lot has contributed to this habit and because of the importance of these mediums to our everyday life. Its often a hard task to stop ourselves from stopping it. Things like friends we keep, our environment, and also the media platforms like TV, social medias, also celebrity crushes, all this and more can affect our speech too. You have friends and friendships has more influence on you than you think, you never know the day you begin to sound like them. Also with the environment cause you see and hear such careless speeches day to day and it feels like a normal thing, but its wrong.
I bet if we were to judge how many people have been wrongly influence to bad languages on the social media we would see they are so numerous, maybe we forget its all a show business and they are only acting so you can like them, what you hear them say or what you see them do, is quite different from what you see on their real life setting. But the public doesn't care. As vulgar as some rappers currently, you'll be shocked to know that two of the popular vulgar rappers have publicly admitted that they don't allow their kids watch their music, cause of the negative effect, yet we swim in it, and it is costly.
Watch your words guys, talk with caution, see the need for it, and see the need to curb it, curb it in your homes, curb it in school, curb it among your friendly conversations, not just to vulgar languages, we should also learn to speak words that won't come back to hunt us. Watch what you say and how you say it, some words you meant to say are OK, but the way you make it sound and how you express it brings about the rifts in it. All this we should learn in our association to our fellow humans. Speak carefully, watch your words.
However only when you set your mind to stop it would you truly stop it, only with a conviction to your heart that this words I've been used to saying or this manner at which I speak when excited, angry or even my normal way of speaking is bad, then you can seek out ways to stop it, it starts from knowing it's bad and needs to be changed. So talking carelessly is bad indeed, maybe it hasn't cost you much so you don't see the need for it, hopefully it won't cost you much, but it doesn't make it okay to keep saying either. Learn to speak right. Stop speaking carelessly.
Thanks For Reading.
Better to shut up than talk carelessly. Talking without using brains will be the cause of death.
