Truths That Technology Brings Us In Achieving “The Good Life”

With the vast technological advancements that we are enjoying, some people do not want to be on board with the never-ending advancement of technology in our society. Some think that it functions to distract us, or that it is moving too fast, that soon we will be overrun by technology but when you look at the overall pros and cons of technology, its force for good is undeniable. And among all the benefits that it has added to humanity, the most powerful impact has been how it has helped bring people together.

Before the invention of the Internet, people struggled in communication; the only way they would be able to stay in touch with one another was by writing a letter which has been said by our grandparents that could take months to reach its recipient. Technology has changed all that. In our time, family members who live on opposite sides of the world from one another can chat via video in real real-time as if they were in the same room. Modern mobile phones demonstrate probably the most rapid evolution in design. What is particularly impressive about some of these modern interfaces is their functional flexibility. You can check what time is it, set your alarm clock, monitor the weather; whether it will rain tomorrow or not so you can know if you will be able to go camping or hiking. We can easily do things others cannot be done in the past.

It is important to acknowledge that students are already interested and engaged in using technology, this creates many amazing opportunities for students and teachers to benefit from integrating many forms of technology in the classroom and to make teaching and learning more effective. Using technology, students are more interested in the subjects they are learning. We can vouch in this because we know that technology makes our learning more fun and enjoyable and using other online learning resources. What is more, technology can encourage a more active participation in the learning process which can be hard to achieve through a traditional lecture environment. For instance, students can learn at their own speed, review difficult concepts or skip ahead if they need to. Additionally, technology can provide more opportunities for struggling or disabled students. Access to the Internet gives students access to a broad range of resources to conduct research in different ways, which in turn can increase the engagement.

By using technology in the classroom, both teachers and students can develop skills essential for the 21st century. Students can gain the skills they will need to be successful in the future.

We live in a society that multitasking is expected. We are encouraged to eat while we work; Our consistent technological advancements eternalize and intensify this culture. A car shortens your 10 hours long way to 20 minutes long way, modern car let you charged your phone, using only Bluetooth speaker; while driving you can answer your calls without having a hard time. With the swipe of a smartphone, seniors can access transportation, grocery deliveries, handymen, and concierge doctors without having to leave the home. Technology has brought about improvements in physical health and comfort.

Fitness trackers and various health apps can help people maintain their health, such as reminding them to take their pills and medications, and ensuring they are getting enough sleep. For example, research is exploring the benefits of mindfulness apps, apps delivering cognitive-behavioral therapy techniques and apps that predict people’s moods and intervene with support at just the right time. Have you ever faced navigation problems in an unfamiliar town? Of course we all have faced such issues when we move to a new place. Be it a business trip or a vacation. One can search for a particular place and then even pinpoint their specific destination; modern technology allows you to enjoy your outings by helping you navigate to anywhere.

Technological innovation is considered as a major source of economic growth. Economic growth refers to the increase in the inflation-adjusted market value of the goods and services produced by an economy over time. The innovations include technological inventions such as wind turbines, photovoltaic cells, concentrated solar power, geothermal energy, ocean wave power and many other emerging innovations.

Technology is not all positive, but it has helped us in a unique-spectacular- ways. The changes to make in technology makes it possible to create lower costs that is a direct effect of innovation is technological unemployment.

In general, technology does make things quite simple. In just a blink of an eye, there is always technology that we can lean on. In education, it helps us to learn further, explore, and research things apart from what is being taught in school. There are a variety of mobile phone applications that can give us answers within a touch of button. In Healthcare, using technology deteriorates health conditions but it serves as a tool of education. Anyone can gather knowledge about health. Things are done within no time with the help of technology. Be it ordering food, shopping, paying bills, checking admissions, booking tickets and what not. These are just a few to mention. It brings advancement and growth in once society or country.

Technology is indeed helpful in many ways and the technological innovation in today’s time, serves as sneak peek to what the future technological innovations will look like. These are just indications that technology has potential to have greater help to us in the future.

Good life can have many interpretations depending on a person's definition of a good life. As a whole, technology does play a part in having good life as it cultivates and nurtures the fundamentals of human life. Doubtlessly, technology contributes in multifarious and numerous ways to the good life instrumentally in meeting the unending and evolving needs, desires and valued individual and collective ends such as communication, health, power, transportation and so on. Inevitability, the technology can support a good life. The thing here is, it’s up to us– mankind to make a good life. We have to drive and build the best utilization and a wise choice and not to forget being in our limits. In as much as we use it for efficaciously and healthy ways it can lead to a good life.
