Floods, everywhere. I rushed to the supermarket in the morning to buy food and some house stuffs because it stopped raining. I saw many town streets that were still submerged in water due to the heavy rainfall these past days. And to my dismay I got wet while riding a trike through flood water. I love you, rain. Heart Sense How is your "heart"? That was the question that had popped on my mind when I saw this cute yellow heart-shaped moringa leaf while picking some for my fish soup. The Christmas Tree 🎄 I promised @Dahlias to showcase the finished product of the Christmas tree setting up before I sign off today. So here it is. Setting up the Christmas Tree. I finally decided to set up the Christmas tree. My old man has been persistently asking me for this since September which I find a bit childish. My bad. I think he's right. The festive tree perks the spirit up and breaks the monotony of daily routine by simply gazing at it. So, I took the old artificial tree with all its decorations from the storage room. I just recycled whatever were salvaged from the last year's occasion to save some pennies. According to tradition Christmas trees should be put up at the beginning of Advent. However, it depends from place to place I guess. The road, trees, clouds, etc. It had been a long day, but a great one. I left early in the morning for a short trip to the city to settle some things. And it was already dark when I returned home. A Blessed Day What's up with you, my dear friends? I hope you had a blessed day, too. I'm happy and thankful for the excellent results of my laboratory workup today. ✅ Blood Chemistry ✅ Hematology ✅ Urinalysis I went first thing in the morning to the Diagnostic Laboratory for my blood extraction before the required hours of fasting expires. I have this check up annually to ensure that my body organs are in good shape and functioning properly. Additionally, I consulted my doctor to ask for antibiotic prescription for my hurting ingrown toenail. Ouch. Anyway, do you have (or do)a regular medical check up, too? 𝐍𝐢á𝐧 𝐠ā𝐨 What? Do I sound foreign to you? Yet, the Chinese will understand for sure. It is the 𝗧𝗶𝗸𝗼𝘆 in our vernacular. A kind of rice cake made from glutinous rice flour with milk, butter, eggs, sugar, vanilla extract, and decorated with pili nuts and grated cheese on top. I just bought these slices from our food snack supplier. My mom had been an excellent special Tikoy maker. I remember those days when I helped her baked this rice cake every Christmas and New Year's eve in an old fashioned way. The batter is steamed for hours depending on the desired thickness.
