The sea, the sea! Today, I was delighted to get a chance to visit the nearby beach while waiting for my doctor to come. Hey. Hello, my friends. It's always good to be back here, now and then. This platform has been my 'comfort bubble' whenever I got tired of many boring stuff in my life. My antidote when life gets tediuos is to reach out to other human beings. It is not necessary whether the person is a stranger or a friend, actual or virtual. And there's no need for extraordinary acts as well. Just a simple conversation or a smile will do the trick. That's what happened in the drugstore while I was buying some medicines. Lazy #caturday Found this feline at the same spot again sleeping on a monobloc chair amidst the hustle and bustle of the morning. This made me think that, are kitties nocturnal? Nope. OLD AND MAGNIFICENT 400+ During my out of town trip the other day I visited the oldest surviving Catholic church in our province. This centuries old church (400+) was built by the Franciscan friars circa 1611. And nine years ago (2012) it was gutted by a fire leaving only the concrete walls. A few years later, it was fully restored to its 15th century setting through the efforts of Fr. Augusto Jesus B. Angeles III with some generous benefactors. The church was closed when I arrived before noon. So I made myself contented by taking snaps of its exterior parts. I hope I will be fortunate in my next visit to see its inner full splendor. NOSTALGIA I had a great day today. Went out of town to do some property management. The weather was fair with on and off drizzle. As we passed along the green and yellow expanse of rice fields that particular and familiar fresh scent of rice plants and mud drew me back to distant past of childhood memories. I used to stay at our little rest hut in the midst of the paddy field every summer where I enjoyed frolicking across the field in search for some insects, birds, fish (in the canal), and other animals. What a simple joy of early days back then to cherish. Well, I wish you too had (or will have) a memorable day today. I'M HOT! I mean the weather is. Lol. Just arrived home from some errands with this scorching heat. Today is better though than the other day where the heat index in our place reached to dangerous level of 44°C! Even so, we need to replenish the fluids that come out from our body because of too much perspiration. I just remember a known vlogger who became popular with his tagline "Drink your water b*tch!" BON APPÉTIT! I cooked Pork Caldereta (stew) for lunch with lots of vegetables. I replaced the green olives with pineapple chunks for a hint of sourness. WHAT'S UP, EVERYONE? How's life treating you these days? I've been wondering of what's going on in here since I had withrawn for a while. It feels good to find again some familiar people hanging around here (noise.cash) and certainly newbies sharing in the hushed joys of this platform. Anyway, I arrived so early at the mall before its opening hours to buy some stuff. So I decided to explore the nearby cathedral which is a five minute walk away. It's been a long time that I haven't visited this place. I was thrilled to see some developments in the church. I enjoyed the mellow ambience under the heat of the sun. May the leaders of those nations have a change of heart and mind so that this nasty war be ended. •FARFALLE ROSA• I prepared farfalle (butterfly) pasta in cream for dinner. I even colored half of them with pink to set the mood for today's occasion. For the sauce I added carbonara powder mix with milk into the sautéed white onions, green bell pepper, bacon, and ham. Then, sprinkled with grated parmesan cheese on top before serving and presto! •MAZAPÁN DE PILI BARS• Mazápan de Pili or locally known as Molido is a confection made with crushed Pili nuts combined with sugar, milk, egg yolk, and butter. It is a popular candy bar in our region where Pili (Java almond) is an indigenous crop. I bought some packs the other day for our dessert. •MISUA Soup With A TWIST• Everybody catches a cold except me. And we have a continued rain showers that makes the weather much cooler. So I decided to make some hot soup to keep us warm. This time I added something into the Misua soup which I don't usually do -- sautéed Ginger -- to tickle the palate and ease the nasal congestion. Other ingredients are tuna flakes, moringa leaves, tomatoes, onions, garlic, salt, sugar, and chicken bouillon. A beautiful day indeed. The climate is temperate with much sunlight. I've read somewhere that "There are no 'bad' days, only inconveniences. Everyday is good for something." What a beautiful thought to ponder while we go through our daily challenges. We cannot choose the day we woke up into but we certainly can choose to welcome the things that we come accross on each day with an open mind and heart. •MY NEW TOY• Acquired this new Air Fryer just recently from an online monthly sales. It looks elegant for a decent price. I tried it at once to prepare baked St. Peter's fish (tilapya) for dinner. Whoa! I love its performance. So convenient and neat. My oil consumption is reduced. I'm sure we'll have a lasting alliance in cooking.
