Who is Responsible for Corruption?
Corruption is an easy word.
English has become a working language across the globe. The colonial power-grabbing policy of the British contributed heavily to making English a common language for a major part of the world.
Corruption is a simple word in English vocabulary. The meaning of corruption is not difficult to understand. But, the impact of corruption on human society is deep.
We say so quickly that the root cause of corruption is greed. As if you eliminate desires and greed, you will eradicate corruption from the globe. It is not that easy.
Corruption is a big challenge.
The challenge of corruption is deep-rooted in human society.
Corruption has spread in every stratum of human life.
Corruption is evident almost everywhere, including inside a family of many people. Even in a nuclear family, there are chances of corrupted concepts of relationships!
Who is to blame for corruption?
In a family, it is the responsibility of the family members to maintain corruption-free relationships among themselves.
In society, the responsibility extends to all the stakeholders.
It includes the political and social leaders, the judiciary system, citizens as voters, teachers, students, doctors, and people of all professionals.
Do we play our roles right?
The important question is to think and ask questions.
We must ask ourselves the question of whether we are extending our duties and taking full responsibility for every action we make.
As a voter, do we cast our cote on deserving candidates?
As news media, do we publish and propagate the truth?
As administrators of different governmental positions, do we take responsibility for the failures and undertake corrective measures?
As members of the judiciary system, do we give justice based on truth?
As entertainers and media celebrities, do we try to convey messages on ethics?
Unfortunately, most of us didn't play our respective roles with ethics and integrity, and as a result, corruption overwhelms the whole globe.
We, all humans, contribute to the overall corruption of society.
Nobody can escape their roles and remain aloof from the entire social system.
Bringing it altogether
Corruption is like a bonfire.
Corruption increases and multiplies by itself.
To eradicate corruption, every member of society has to play their role with a deep sense of ethics and integrity.
One simple act of ethics by a few responsible citizens may inspire many.
But, finally, it all depends on the citizens to raise their voices along with imposing ethics and integrity on themselves.
Postscript
Imposing ethics and integrity begin at every home.
Are you doing enough to impose ethics and integrity in your daily lifestyle?

I have been asked why corruption exists - particularly when it seems like everyone wants good things for their country. I'm guessing that some of these questions come from a feeling of helplessness. But even though our political leaders don't seem to care much about it, corruption does exist and it's often directly linked to poverty.
So far, the majority of research into corruption has focused on finding out who is corrupt. This is important because understanding who is responsible can help us tackle corruption.
When it comes to tackling corruption, it's not enough to focus on identifying who is corrupt. What matters is whether they are held accountable for their actions.
