Quantum computing is making waves.
The keywords quantum computing is becoming more popular every day.
A quantum computer can be exponentially more powerful than the fastest digital computing machines that ever existed in the world.
Quantum bits or qubits are the heart of this power.
The computing power of digital computers comes from binary bits, which can have a value of either one or zero. In contrast, the qubits can exist in multiple states simultaneously.
Quantum computing has been making significant progress in terms of technological developments.
Although a general-purpose quantum computer is a faraway product of the future, experimental investigations have made laboratory demonstrations of quantum computing very convincing.
There should be efforts to create real-world use cases that can utilize the power of quantum computing.
At the end of 2022, IBM unveiled its new Quantum Chip.

It is not difficult to comment that quantum computing is progressing more slowly yet steadily than ever before.
There have been experimental developments among the big tech research community, including the pioneer IBM and others like Google and their competitors.
IBM opened its Quantum Computing facility for commercial use in 2019, which was showcased at the annual CES (Consumer Electronics Show) event in 2019.
Now, IBM announced its 1000 qubits quantum computing facilities and hardware in 2022. It is projected that IBM will soon surpass the 1000 qubits mark.
Quantum computing is creating big hopes and worries.
The enormous power of quantum computing can solve many complex problems that the fastest digital computers would never be able to solve.
The research in complex computing problems in science and engineering would get a tremendous boost with the invention of a full-fledged and general-purpose quantum computer.
On the other hand, there is a big worry that quantum computing can work as a tool for criminals to crack passwords and private keys.
A general-purpose quantum computer may jeopardize the entire cryptographic world that functions on the principles of public key cryptography.
The present-day financial transactions and authentication based on public key cryptography-based RSA algorithm may be cracked within a few hours with a quantum computer.
The entire cryptocurrency domain would get a harsh challenge from criminals equipped with a general-purpose quantum computer because all the private keys would be broken within a few hours or days.
The cryptographic world must devote time to developing quantum-resistant algorithms for different secure tasks, such as authentication and financial transaction, cryptocurrency transactions, etc.
