Spam-Free Internet Media Internet is the information superhighway. There is no doubt that the modern era of computers brought significant changes to human life. We saw developments of many new applications which were not possible without computers and computing. The invention of the Internet overwhelmed the lives of global citizens. The advent of the Internet connects the whole world through the network of computers which is called the "information superhighway." We send/receive emails, and use browsers to search and buy items. We blog on several online blogging platforms. We watch videos on different video platforms. There is a lot of other work that we do every day. All these works are done through the beautiful online services of the Internet. If the Internet services are down in a locality, the people of that locality can't connect with the rest of the world. Spam is almost inherent in cyberspace. The Internet has connected people through networked computers. Now, the world is dancing with handheld devices, such as smartphones and tablet computers. One major problem comes through the Internet superhighway is data security and privacy. Breaking the security and firewall has been on the rise every day. Unsolicited messages and advertisements enter people's private digital space, i.e., email boxes and SMS boxes of mobile numbers. These undesired and unsolicited interaction of the Internet crowd are termed by a single word called "spam." The "spam" issues are increasing at an alarming rate. The social media giants (Facebook, and Twitter) have plenty of security loopholes, through which "spam" enter the personal digital spaces of Internet users. That is why we won't be wrong to comment that "spam" is inherent in cyberspace. Every social media network brings "spam" through its app. It is noticed that the mobile apps leak more private data than the desktop apps. What about spam-free Internet media, such as social networks? The noise team is bringing a new "invite-only" service namely, the noise.app. People can register for a read-only account. These accounts can't post any content. When an existing noise.app user sends an "invite" the account will be verified for posting right. The Noise team hopes to minimize "spam" from the new platform. Long ago, when Google's email service was started, it was by invitation from an existing user. Later they opened it to everybody with a webmail address. Now, they ask for a verifiable mobile number. All these are done to minimize problems like "spam." Has the "spam" problems decreased in Google's services? Probably yes, their "spam" issues could have been much more if the accounts were not verified! But, I get plenty of "spam" via GMail, and Googe search. After I stopped using Googe for search, my "spam" has reduced. The "spam" issues on social networks will continually increase, even if the platforms start an entirely new service. Because, the hackers and "spammers" already mapped the IP and device mac addresses, and huge private data of global Internet users are in their hands! "Spam" and "Internet" go quite along with each other. The "Internet" and "Spam" are natural friends! Improving your personal cybersecurity is a must. The mobile numbers, i.e., the SIM card, and the mobile apps are good sources of data harvesting and "spamming." The apps, such as "True-Caller" or similar apps collect global users' personal and private data. People think that it improves the security! But, the reality is the reverse! They directly jeopardize the privacy of all global mobile users. Cyber threats by hackers and "spammers" will increase at an alarming rate. Global mobile and Internet users' "spam" issues will continue to increase UNLESS Internet users take it seriously to empower their personal cybersecurity.
