HAPPY NEW MONTH. It is 1st February, 2022. It's just like yesterday we said happy New year to one another. May this new month bring joy, peace and good things that our heart desires to us.

Today, I'll be writing about the topic you've read up there. It is a very important topic that needs to be discussed. I'll be sharing my view of this topic with the story of a family.

Mr and Mrs Smith have been married for a couple of years now. They have two kids who are girls. The family is very comfortable. The husband and wife are government workers. They opened a shop where they sell stationery and some snacks. After the shop was opened, a salesgirl was employed. The sales from the shop was encouraging and the shop increased. Mrs Smith noticed some insincerity in the salesgirl and sent her away. Since there was no other person to stay in the shop, Mrs Smith told her children of ages 8 and 11 to stay in the shop after school.

Mr Smith told his wife that he does not subscribe to the idea of the children staying in the shop. The wife did not agree. She said she can't be wasting money on a salesgirl when her children can stay there. This continued for some weeks before the wife noticed some books had disappeared from the shelves. She thought they must have been sold and she decided to check the book of records and receipts. To her surprise, there was no record that the books were sold. She asked her children but they denied responsibility for the missing books. She allowed the matter to lie low without informing her husband.

On a Sunday after the family came back from church service, they met some people in front of their house. One of the women, Mrs Williams also owned a shop beside that of the Smiths. They didn't look happy. They exchanged greetings and went into the house. Without wasting time, the visitors accused the two girls of stealing an iPhone.

The previous day, Mrs Williams had confronted the girls in the shop and they confessed that they stole it. They were asked to produce the phone but it was already sold and that was the reason for coming over on Sunday. Mr and Mrs Smith could not believe their ears. They called the two children and they confessed. Mrs Smith began to cry while Mr Smith could not say a word. Mr Smith asked the older daughter how much she sold the phone and she said ten thousand naira which had been spent.

A lot of atrocities committed by the girls were revealed. Mrs Williams said she used to see the girls buy bournvita, milk, biscuits and other expensive things at the shop. Mrs Smith accused Mrs Williams of not informing her all along. The case was eventually settled and the women went back home. Lunch that day turned to dinner. The girls were severely punishment especially the older one. Mr Smith reminded his wife that he had already warned her not to expose the children to money. Till now, these children still engage in bad things beyond their age.

In conclusion, satisfy your children with all they need in your capacity and don't expose them to money at a young age.

Thanks you very much for reading. God bless you 💖.

Young children cannot really handle the exposure to money. It's not hood to give them cash as gifts and it's even worse to put them in charge of money in any way. What happened in this story is very common

I think discipline is always key. There are children who do well despite being exposed at a young age due to iron hands by their parents. Nice article though... Unique perspective...
