So now that you have started writing blog posts , it's time you monetize it. But before we do, let's get one thing straight. You are either going to fail or you're going to become a success. The choice is yours. If you are going to succeed, skip the excuses, and let's proceed.

Now ask yourself:

  • How far along are you with your blogging?

  • Did you just roll out a brand new blog and are ready to go directly to the monetizing steps?

If so, slow down! One of the biggest reasons a blogger fails when trying to make money from their blog is because they are selling without a customer, without their tribe! You have got to building your audience before you can make a profit. You need customers to make money. So start by building your audience. Building your audience is as easy as social media.

Get to know your tribe, your readers in the comments of your social media and blog posts. Talk to them by commenting back. Ask questions in your social media posts or at the end of your blog post to attract your reader's attention.

Ask them:

  • What do they like about your blog or post?

  • What they would like to see in a future post?

  • What's their favorite blog post?

  • What products or services would they like to see you offer?

If you don't plan to sell a product or service, you may want to consider making money with your blog by selling ad space. You can use Google Adsense or seek out a company whose product or service relates to your blogging niche. If you have a high traffic rate, this could be a great income for your blog and as simple as placing an advertisement banner on your page.

You can also try your hand at affiliate marketing, which allows you to make a specific commission through a product link you provide through companies like Amazon. If your reader clicks on your link and purchases that product on the company's website, you get a percentage of that sale.

Affiliate marketing links requires a little more thought and planning, however. Readers want to click on a product you have used, you love, you have proof that you use! It's a wonderful opportunity to build an income from your blog content as long as you are sharing the products you are absolutely passionate about and your readers trust you wholeheartedly.

In other words, don't expect your readers to trust and purchase that CoverGirl's Lash Blast Volume Mascara in black brown that you just stated is your one true love when last week you said the same exact thing about Revlon's Volumizing Mascara in black brown.

Monetizing your blog isn't the first thing on your blog's to-do list. It can take months before you see any profit. This was why I started, you are either going to fail or you're going to succeed, because you have that choice to do it right by building your blog and your audience first, or rush right into failure by skipping ahead and playing that dangerous game of win or lose.

Your audience is your lifeline. They are who make you a success. If you want to make money blogging, listen to your audience! Be a part of their lives and help them live the best life possible through you!

It's easy to start a blog, it's hard work to make it a success! You have got to be dedicated to blogging at least once a week if not more!

Excellent publication, I really liked the ideas you propose. I have just over 6 months blogging at #Hive and it has really been quite a learning experience. I'm still learning things and this information you share fits me like a glove because I've been asking myself these questions recently.

I would like to learn what to do and what not to do as a Blogger, I feel it is a "profession" a craft that you must learn to do well and so far I have done it intuitively.

Thank you very much for these recommendations
