Good morning everyone... as I told yesterday, Today is India's biggest ever festival and that is DIWALI/DEEPAVALI.. This festival is also called as the "Festival of lights" in English.. woke up today early and finished my works quickly so that I can take a bath and do prayers in the evening. Generally, we do prayers in the morning but because of certain issues at home, I cannot do it in the morning as I'm not quiet used to it yet... just finished breakfast and about to make some Lemon rice and raw banana fry... then I will give my daughter her hair bath and dress her up in her Diwali dress.. will attach her pic here, I took that during her fitting... I designed her dress and I'm so proud how cute it turned out.... then by afternoon, I need to shower and then make arrangements for the prayer... have to make food offering to God and pray that everyone of us have to live a happy and peaceful life... by 6 pm, we light several oil lamps and keep them in every room in our house and everyone does this thus making the entire street look amazing....and after 7, we will go down and light some fire crackers and have a lot of fun doing so...

Why Diwali is Celebrated:

Hindu festivals always remind us back stories about how GOOD ALWAYS WIN OVER THE EVIL and we do not have to worry about any kind of negativity as long as we have strong faith in God.. Last month, we celebrated DUSSHERA during which Lord Rama kills Demon King Ravana who abducted Rama's wife. It is also celebrated for the reason of Mother Durga killed two demons called "Chanda and Munda" who were traumatizing the earth, she did this while taking 10 forms...

And, Diwali is celebrated when Lord Rama came back victorious to his Kingdom after 14 years of spending time in the forests because his father asked him so... Lord Rama's step mother forced Rama's father to ask Lord Rama to leave the kingdom because she wanted to make his Son, the youngest the King of the lands as it would not happen as long as the Elder son (Rama) is there.. the father was heart broken but he did not have a choice as he promised the step mother several years back that he owes him one bless as she saved his life in a war... he asked Lord Rama to leave the Kingdom... Rama left the kingdom with his wife, Mother Sita and his second brother Lakshmana.. and as and when he left, his father died because of the heart break... and the Youngest son came to know his mother's intentions and down right refused to take the throne because of his love and respect towards his elder brother Lord Rama, thus making the entire kingdom eagerly wait for Lord Rama's return...

However, Ravana finds Mother Sita, sees how beautiful she is and abducts her by using some tactics... he sends a demon down the earth and the demon takes a form of Golden deer which Mother sees, she wants to hold the deer when she requests her husband, Lord Rama to bring her the deer alive, the deer takes Rama far away from his hut and thus leaving Mother alone with Rama's brother Laksmana... after sometime, the demon reveals himself and cries in Lord Rama's voice saying "Sita....I'm in danger..save me".. Mother was heart broken to hear her husband's cries and asks Lakshmana to go help his brother.. but he refuses to do so because he knows the powers Lord Rama holds and nothing can defeat him.. but she constantly insists on him thus making him leave.. but before leaving, he grabs his arrow, chants and draws a line in front of the hut and asks Mother Sita not to cross it no matter what... she agrees and he leaves...

Ravana arrives near the hut and tried to go in but he could not cross the line because of Lakshmana's powers... He then takes a form of a sage and calls upon Mother Sita inside the hut and when she comes out, he asks her to give him some food. She feels sad and goes inside to get food and she comes out offering him food standing inside the line drawn by Lakshmana. Ravana asks her to cross the line and offer him food which she refuses at first, but because of the tradition that you are not supposed to offer anything with an obstacle in between, she crosses the line... Ravana immediately takes his demonic form and she faints on the ground... He lifts the ground around her and takes her to Lanka, modern day Sri Lanka...A bird named Jatayu tries to stop Ravana from taking Sita ma from mid-air and Ravana cuts the feathers of the bird making it fall on the ground... He successfully reaches Lanka and keeps Sita ma in a park called "Ashoka"

Lord Rama and Lakshmana come back to their house only to realize Mother Sita was missing and Rama was devastated and heart broken to realize his wife was nowhere.. they start their search inside the forest and comes across the bird who informs Lord Rama that Ravana took her... Lord Rama reaches the Monkey Kingdom in the forest and meets Lord Hanuman... Hanuman as and when sees Rama recognizes that he is the ONE whom Hanuman was destined to serve as a companion through out his life and he needs to devote his life to Lord Rama. Hanuman also informs that he saw a demon carrying Mother Sita in a UFO like object and Sita ma threw her jewelry on to the earth to leave the trial... Hanuman collected it and showed it to Lord Rama and Rama cries hugging it.. Hanuman owes to help bring mother Sita back to Rama...

There is also a problem in the Monkey Kingdom where the King is called "Vaali" and he stole his brother's wife from his brother "Sugreeva" and Sugreeva can help Lord Rama only if he kills Vaali... the problem is Vaali has a blessing that whomever Vaali fights, half of the powers and strengths of the opponent will reach Vaali and nobody can basically kill him upfront.. because even Ravana failed to defeat Vaali at a time when he tried to capture the Monkey Kingdom... Hence, Rama provokes Sugreeva to fight his brother and Lord Rama kills Vaali by sneaking in... Because Lord Rama is the supreme power himself, he gives Vaali's soul peace... Sugreeva gets his wife back and promises to help Lord Rama in every way and form...

Lord Rama sends Lord Hanuman as a messenger to Lanka to compromise to Ravana but Hanuman is stopped by the water demon called "Lankini" in the middle of the Indian ocean.... Hanuman kills Lankini easily and enters Lanka... he looks for Mother Sita and finds her on the floor crying and he reaches her. She first thinks that he is Ravana in a different form but Hanuman gives Lord Rama's ring to Mother Sita thus she completely believes Hanuman and gives her blessing to him... Hanuman offers to carry Sita ma back to Rama but she refuses his offer saying "Dear Hanuman, do you think I cannot kill Ravana with my own hands?? I can... but I won't.... My husband Shall come, win against this demon and take me back" for which Hanuman accepts...

Hanuman intentionally gets by the demon servants and was taken to the Kingdom and placed in front of Ravana and Lord Hanuman warns Ravana that he will get killed if he did not give Ma Sita back and apologize to Rama for which Ravana's blood boils... Ravana's brother called "Vibheeshana" is a good Samaritan who tells Ravana to leave Ma Sita immediately for which Ravana banishes his brother from his own kingdom... Ravana orders his servants to burn Hanuman's tail and they light the tail... Hanuman takes the mega cosmic form and burns the whole city of Lanka using that fire in this tail.. He leaves the place once he makes sure Sita ma was safe...

Lord Hanuman, along with Vibheeshana (Ravana's brother) reaches Lord Rama and Hanuman shows Mother's Hair clip as evidence that he saw Mother and informs Rama that she is desperately waiting for his arrival to Lanka... Lord Rama forms an Army of Monkeys and orders Ocean God to appear in front of him... He informs the ocean God that he will be building a bridge between India and Sri Lanka.. All the Monkeys collect rocks and forms a bridge connecting two countries.... even today, human eye can't see the bridge but you can clearly see it from the space, thus standing inside the ocean as an evidence, the Setu (bridge) silently stands as proof tha Ramayana (the tale of Lord Rama) actually happened in the history.. Below is the pic taken from International space station of the said bridge...

Ram Setu : pic take from space....YouTube

Lord Rama then reaches Lanka and with the help of Vibheeshana, Lakshmana, Hanuman and all the Monkey kingdom army, destroys all the brothers of Ravana one by one and later Lakshmana kills Ravana's super powerful Son called "Indrajith" and Ravana himself comes to the war field in his full powerful mode of one man with 10 heads and Lord Rama throws arrows at his face and chest, nothing kills Ravana... because he has a blessing that he cannot be killed in any part of the body other than pointing and throwing arrow right at his belly button... However, Lord Rama refuses to throw arrow at the belly button saying that it is against rules of the war to point at belly and he gets ready to throw one again to Ravana's face... Lord Hanuman quickly prays to the God of Wind called "Vayu deva" who is also a father figure of Lord Hanuman and even though the arrow was pointed to face, the Wind God changes the direction of the arrow thus hitting the right spot and killing Ravana...

Lord Rama was united with Mother Sita and the day Ravana was killed is celebrated as Dusshera and the day Lord Rama and Sita long with Lakshmana return back to the Kingdom is celebrated as Diwali with lot of prayers and firecrackers... Lord Rama is declared as the King and the step mother apologizes to him....and there started the beautiful era of the most ethical Human ever existed called Rama, The King....and the tradition of Diwali is continued even today.... because Good will always win the evil....

I remember last year there were concerns about COVID. But I guess this year people are able to come out and celebrate. In Texas we have a large Indian population but they were not able to celebrate. But this year our state governor is hosting a Diwali event.

I enjoyed the story, your beautiful face, and daughter added lots of spices to the whole article.

I watch Indian movies a lot and I hear them offer prayers to Lord Rama. We celebrate Diwali at my former place of work because it belongs to the Indians.

I couldn't take my eyes of the beauty, forgive me for that...

I don't understand something here. Lord Rama and Krishna are the same person?

$ 0.00

Yes they are same, 10 demons were born in different set of time periods where Lord Vishnu took form of 10 Avatar to kill them... Lord Krishna was born once Lord Rama killed Ravana and went back to his place.. so they both are same :) the difference in their Avatar is Lord Rama was born as a pure human and lived the most ethical life and Lord Krishna was born with magical powers and he could change time and everything...

I think this story was familiar to me since we studied it during junior high school. The tales of India is really cool since it's full of excitement and had evidence proving that it was true. Happy Diwali in your country, I think Diwali has the same celebration in us which is New year.

What a beauty you are, my dear! And your daughter is a princess in general! I am interested to read something new, what unusual and colorful traditions you have. Wall believe in God, but the most important thing is to have him in your soul and then he will bless us with a good life on earth.
