I'm The King Of The Road
Do you act responsible while walking on the road or do you walk like you own the road?
If you do then let me tell you, you don't own the road but the vehicles do, lol. I thought that we have passed those stages where we are required to be aware of our actions on roads but I think not now. In fact, we got worse or this gen got worse. Roads are used for transportation and they aren't the safest place for pedestrians or two-wheeler people. It's not that if you have a 4-wheeler then you are safe but somehow this is better than other vehicles or normal walking people.
Lovely Incident
I had to go 10kms away from my city to get special medicine for my mother as it wasn't available in my locality and the shops were taking a lot of time to special order it. So I went where it was available. I had two options, one to use the house car or use the auto rickshaw by comparing the gas prices and inconvenience I choose the car, the travel cost went on the less costly side using it. While traveling, while turning on the 4-way road, I met with an annoying 20-25 aged kid as he was crossing the road with big headphones in his head looking at his mobile acting as if he owns the road. I horned a lot to alert him yet no reaction, but luckily a bike rider gave him a nice punch in his back saying 'Go and use the phone in your home, not on the roads', This is Not Your Father's Road. I thought he would fight back but there were enough riders staring daggers at him and with his stupid activity which would have cost him his life and a major accident involving others' lives. It's not my first time seeing this, in fact whenever I go for a ride by road I see at least one person doing this type of thing. And one time a similar incident happened where the bus driver turned his steering wheel taking two bikers to save the one with headphones. Sadly both died on the spot and the responsible headphone guy ran away.
Another incident that I saw today is a kid of 7-8 class riding a bike with his grandfather on a busy road where trucks and buses take a crazy turn, His grandfather must have been teaching him but is it the right place for such an immature kid to learn or even ride? He can ride well but the road requires different kinds of sense and awareness in some situations like when a bus is overtaking and you are in the way, I'm sure the kid will go blank in such situations.

Final Thoughts
Asia has the most dangerous roads along with heavy riders and drivers who never go at slow speed and overtake vehicles every 30 seconds and so one should be extra careful here while walking, crossing as well as riding. We don't have any pedestrian walk areas in cities besides the road and so you can't use your phone and listen to songs while walking there. If you put on headphones or use your phone while walking or even while riding then someday you will rest in peace taking others with you.
Be responsible, the vehicles are the king of the roads unless there's a path for you be extra attentive on roads and don't ignore vehicle horns behind you.

Asia is indeed one of the most dangerous places to drive in. Back home my brother's classmate actually passed away from being ran over on a pedestrian lane. It doesn't matter if you're careful some drivers can be just extra careless. Hence, vigilance is important.
