Being one of those lives that are affected by the recent super typhoon Odette gave great memories for all of us that will never be forgotten.
It's been one month already that the typhoon was lent lots of remembrances that the people should be kept yet it didn't have a great memory but indeed a historical disaster that ever happened of our entire lives.
Ever since I was a kiddo, I experience various typhoons that were hit in our land but not to the extent same as typhoon Odette ever offered a great impact on us. From the start of my existence, this was the very first time that our place was ruined, damaged, and destroyed small and large things everywhere. In every corner of the place, you can see the damages caused by the typhoon most literally are the tress. Most of them were falling along the streets that all the vehicles can't pass on the highway. So that the vehicles can pass, people were helping each other to clean the area or the streets so that vehicles can pass on either. Thanks for all the helping hands. π
Some people on that day were crying for reason that their houses vanished or some had been totally damaged and some were only having partially damaged. Some were begging for help for the reason that we were running out of food. Financial aspects as well as badly needed because many jobs were affected also. In addition, people were also shocked because of what had happened. Tons of houses were out of beauty and bunches of children were totally experiencing psychological aspects because many children were in trauma up until today.
It's been one month too since we were out of electricity because of the damages. Many electric wired were cut and electric posts were down. That's why electricity can't be easily back to normal again. Days after the typhoon there were quantities of electricians who helped to fix the electric wirings. They are from our nearby province. Even up to this day, they are still sacrificing under the heat of the sun and the heavy rain just to fix everything. I salute them for their sacrifices most especially when Christmas and New year come where they need to be far from their own families just to settle everything here to give us light again and be back to normal soon. Good thing that our electricity will be back sooner one of these days. And we are still hoping and praying for that.π
When it comes to water supply, it is not that hard for us since our supply is back earlier this month. We are very much thankful that the water is back because it is extremely difficult if there is no water. We can't continue what we need to do especially in cleaning the house and the whole area. The moment that we were not yet having a water supply, we just needed to fetch water to our nearby deepwell for us to have water to drink, wash, clean, and bath. The nice thing about us is that our house is nearby to the deepwell which we had the easier way to have some water. Some people needed to ride motorcycles for them to fetch water because they were far from it and their barangay has no deepwell. Early in the morning up until afternoon the deep well is very busy. There was no time for rest. I felt pity to the deepwell that time. π But, how amazing, because the deepwell is a survivor. π
Even if we came to the point that we felt exhausted to fetch water, we need to stay strong and prolong our patience for us to have. Thank God, that earlier this month we already have a water supply. We can now wash our clothes anytime, take a bath every day with unlimited water. The good news I know just yesterday is that the water we have right now is free up until April because of the crisis we faced today. In other words, we will not be having a water bill until April. πThanks to our beloved Municipal Mayor for the announcement. π
One month today that we faced the big trauma in our lives that made us now braver and stronger individuals to face all over again the unexpected disaster. After all, we've been through from the typhoon Odette, we are more than thankful and blessed because we are still alive from the moment that it had happened. We are still healthy and still kicking now. We are far more favored by God because we survived. We can't thank Him enough for the goodness He has given to us such as providing and sustaining everything we need for us to abide by the beauty of life again. πΈ
We thank God for everything that we have now from the relief goods, financial assistance, and for the stronger faith. He is the reason why we need to keep going in life, to continue what we've started, and to be thankful always. There is no other name/person that should receive thankfulness but only He. ππ
That would be all for this article. Sorry for the construction of words if messy. What I wanted to say is to share with you what I have right now in my heart. π I just can't believe that it's been one month today that the typhoon Odette was hit our place and brought us sadness on our faces yet we are beyond grateful for our good God never leaves us after all. ππ
Thank you for reading and dropping by. God bless you. Shalom! π
