We often have dreams while sleeping. But many people claim they don't. Here the real fact is- they dream but can't remember them later.
We may dream about everything that is in our life or mind- even can be in our sub conscious mind.
Now the question is-Do blind people dream? If yes, how and what they see?
Yes blind people have dreams while sleeping. Moreover, their dreams are 4 times frequent than those of normal people.
How & what they dream?
People can be blind in 2 ways:
losing sense of sight at any stages of life.
blind by birth.
For the first type, they have enough information about earth. So, they can have visual dreams.
For people wish normal vision, dreaming is intensely visual. Auditory simulation plays a small role and other senses like taste and smell are virtually absent.
Now here's an explanation on people being blind by birth:
As they have never seen the earth, they can't have visual dreams. And so a reverse process for normal people is reported in this case.
They don't have images or scenes in their dreams; instead they dreams through sound, taste, touch, smell and feelings.
They also report a higher percentage of dreams that involves mishaps related to travelling or transportation.
Although individual experiences vary, researchers say people who go blind before age 5 rarely experience visual imagery in their dreams. But those who lose their vision after age 5 often continue to see in their dreams, though the frequency and clarity diminish over time.
