Comparison Is Like A Devastating Plague
Never chase the validation of others. You do not need to prove and compare yourself to anyone for it only results to nothing. Do not dare to embrace destruction. Comparison is like a devastating plague. Life itself is a plague of struggles and sufferings. Sometimes, it is a plague that hinders you to achieve the desires of your heart. Perhaps comparison is as good as a plague that has the ability to embrace destruction against inner peace, dreams, and happiness. When you compare yourself to others, it is like embracing destruction in your very own life. Why compare when you can stand out? You are not required to chase the validation of others. You do not need to prove yourself to anyone for it only results to nothing. You do not need to compare yourself to others for you are incomparable. Bear in mind that each soul is unique and special and nothing could ever change it. Do not dare to embrace destruction. Comparison is like a devastating plague. It ruins all your dreams and it does not allow you to find real happiness all through out your existence. How often do you compare yourself to others? Admit it that comparing yourself to others is inevitable in life. When our eyes often see a glimpse of something attractive not present in us or something better than what is existing in our lives, we tend to compare and contrast. There is nothing wrong about it when your intention is only good like when you use comparison as a source of inspiration and motivation to achieve for an endeavor. But, when we use comparison for evil or to feel inferior about yourself, it is another story of struggle and suffering. Comparison is like a devastating plague that ruins your inner peace, dreams, and happiness. When you spend more time comparing yourself to others and looking for validation from other people, you would always end up regretting for you would truly feel a great fear of being judged by anyone and would only end up struggling in life, making yourself a failure. Whether you like it or not, you are just making a huge effort for yourself to suffer and struggle from extreme feelings of resentment, envy, jealousy, dissatisfaction, and hopelessness. Little by little, it destroys your inner peace, dreams and happiness just like a plague, draining and frustrating you into someone you do not want to become, most especially when you would realize one day that you could not compete and you could not dwell to another person's standards and quality of living. Personally, I always remind myself that I do not need to prove my worth to anyone as I always feel better about myself. I do not need to chase the validation and approval of others, and this is the biggest challenge I am facing in life. I may have the habit of comparing myself to anyone but this comparison is a fruit of inspiration and motivation to move forward for success. I keep on reminding myself that just like others, I too, have my own life to manage, instead of minding other people's life. And that I could always create a life that I would always want to become as I continually adjust my direction to wherever the wind may blow me, so I would have a chance of becoming a better person than I was yesterday. If there is somebody that I need to prove and impress, that person should only be me, myself, and I. No one else, other than my very own self. But then, for every good thing I do in life, that is to glorify my God.
Moreover, there would always be people who are better than us. Regardless of the truth, anyone must not measure up using comparison just to seek a validation for self-worth and self-acceptance. We only go around once, so let us not waste our time chasing for negativity. Instead, we shall use our time preciously to do worthy matters before we run out of time as we attract more positivity in life. The best thing to do is be committed to yourself by staying true to the good values that you possess, and never to worry about the false opinions of others. **Remember that, you do not need to prove yourself to anyone but you can always prove yourself right against all doubts and criticisms from others.** Perhaps it is a matter of focusing for personal growth and development without comparison and chasing the validation of others. There is nothing to prove in life, not even someone's worth. Most importantly, only you have the greatest power to see your worth. Thus, never ever allow anyone to dominate for your life. They do not have the power for your dreams, happiness, and inner peace, but it is only through a person as best as you. In conclusion, **comparison is like a devastating plague** for it ruins your inner peace, dreams, and happiness in life as you drown yourself to a plague of struggles and sufferings through extreme feelings of resentment, envy, jealousy, dissatisfaction, and hopelessness. Never ever chase the validation of others, yet just dare to chase yourself. You are unique, special, and incomparable, remember that. Comparison is good if we want to make someone our standard and we want to follow him or her. But yeah most of times we compared ourselves with negative thinking that is destructing plague. We should improve ourselves and take care of mistakes we have done so that we can't repeat it again. It is lack of quality of inner mind when we say why my fellow has this and that thing but I lack. We should mend our inner peace with good thinking.
Perhaps comparison for a good intention would always yield positivity but comparison for evil would always end up a failure dear friend flipper. This usually happens one day, when one realizes a failure to compete for a set standard and quality in any aspect of life. And I totally agree with your profound thoughts my friend.
But it is quite natural people overlap the total soul of comparison as a result they attracted towards negativity.
Exactly, my dear Tale, comparison can play a devastating role in our lives, our peace and our happiness. Today I wanted to write a real story about someone, and now with your article I realized that she is destroying herself, her life and her peace with exactly these destructive comparisons. You gave me good inspiration in writing my article today... Thanks so much dear...
You are most welcome, dear friend, Ellen. Feel free to write about the story of someone who is ruining herself due to comparison. I wish you a good atmosphere for writing my dear. Carry on.
I used to compare myself with others when i was adolescent boy. But with the growth i realise i have no one to show my efficiency rather than me. I love competition still now. But that competition is with myself. I want to compete my previous day.
You are doing the best thing dear Zahid. That is competing with your very own self. When we do that, we could always focus on personal growth and development. And that we do not need to chase for the validation of others. There is a power within ourselves and the great power lies in you.
We should not compare ourself to others. When we compare to others,we lose our confidence, strength.
So true, dear friend Adan. When we compare, we are just making a huge effort to fail for ourselves. In the end, we end up failing and broke.
An interesting article but I don't quite agree with everything, as life is not like a plague or the comparison, sometimes I think the comparison motivates you to try and you to become better to do something better🙂
I understand your point dear friend, Mihhai. As for me, life itself is a plague of suffering and struggles. Sometimes, it is a plague that hinders you to achieve the desires of your heart. Comparison is as good as a plague that has the ability to embrace destruction against inner peace, dreams, and happiness through personal motives of resentment, jealousy, envy, and hopelessness.
I believe that life is somehow related to how much we are. Willing to fight for how much we want some things and how we can overcome obstacles to achieve what we wantand if we look at nature with all that in it we will see that we will be amazed at the beauty that exists, now we cannot judge life we humans are evil and we make our lives hard,if we wanted life it would be heaven but what to do sometimes we suffer. here and beyond in heaven if we have a good life here we will enjoy infinitely more compared to the weight lived in life here🙂😃
Totally true, and I so agree with your most profound thoughts, dear friend, Mihhai. Really impressive. Claps.
Everyone has advantages and disadvantages of each if we compare ourselves with others, what about the shortcomings that we have? we will never know the inner life that is felt by others, therefore comparing it is like seeing sea water on the surface.
Yes, so true my friend. That is why every so often, one ends up being broke and failed when competing for evil. The best thing to do is to compete with inner self and not to anyone.
Comparisons give birth to human heart violence and resentment, And this violence and anger always burns people. Then slowly a soul dies.
Absolutely true dear, Thomas. There is an inner motive for evil as to resentment. And then the soul becomes a failure.
@Talecharm, I don't know what happened when I wanted to accept ur sponsorship. An error message appeared. Can we try again.
I had checked it now dear friend, Dan. The transaction is pending. It would be processed successfully soon. You were able to accept it.
Okay. Thanks
Satisfy yourself doing something, not someone else. You don't need anyone else's approval or praise. and if you go the way of comparing yourself, you will be ambitious. Ambition is good, but if it's too much, it will eat you.
That is to satisty oneself without impressing anyone dear friend, man. If there ia someone we have to please for, that would be our very own selves. Dare not to chase the validation of other people.
If we let go of the habit of being appreciated by others and give our full attention to ourselves, we will achieve success.
Always think that you are way better than what others think. There's no need to compare, we are great on our own way.
So true. We are all unique, special, and incomparable, dear friend, Valentine. The truth may be there is something better or someone better but it is a matter of possesing good values and keeping a positive spirit.
Comparing myself to other start when I saw something with that person attractive or social standard but I always neglect that thought after minute because the more I entertain the idea, insecurities will follow.
When comparison dominates insecurities are really so loud dear friend, Mary. And I so agree with that.
Comparison also leads to inferiority complex. When you are compared to someone all the time, you start feeling like you are lower. That's when the true destruction hits Because when a thought makes roots in your mind, it's really hard to get it out and that complex never lets you do anything great and even if you do, you'll end up doubting your own capabilities
Indeed, comparison was like a bacteria that somehow ruins our health and make us weak day by day without our awareness. Comparing to others is somehow normal, but we shouldn't take it as a treat for our growth. We are all have differences and so we should remember that sometimes what they have, we can't have. We should also think in the other side, that sometimes what we have is the things that others can't have. We are all have our own uniqueness and so we shouldn't feel jealous with other people's success but instead used it as your inspiration to keep moving.
I always admired how you made things so good in writing. Your concept is admirable and always interesting. Comparison is a poison to our minds and little by little, becoming dead inside.
When we compare ourselves to others, we get information about what we want and where we want to be, and how to measure up. But that doesn't end there. Comparing ourselves to others allows them to drive our behaviors. Finally, Every minute you spend wishing you had someone else's life might be a minute spent wasting yours... 📌 📌 📌
God has blessed everyone with unique traits.but we destroy our God gifted skills and traits when we start comparing ourselves with others. God has made very person different from other. For example if my friend is food at calligraphy i am best at writing or speech if I start comparing myself with my friend that ahh she can do calligraphy but I can't why???? Then i will list my skills also.si stop comparing yourself with others.
This is really important to know that shouldn't compare ourself to other cause we have different capabilities and capacity. We will just get frustrated when we compare. Before, I always do that but when I learn about comparing isn't good I immediately just focus on my own phase.
Comparing ourselves to other people has both negative and positive effect. Just like you have said my dear Talecharm that instead we will be jealous, let's make it a challenge and inspiration to be a better person. But the purpose of comparison is to know who's better from the two persons, it would result only to resentment.
Everyone's life is designed differently, what's easy and good for one may be hard and bad for someone. Comparing ourselves with others is fruitless.
we are from different country and different family. We should not make comparison. Everyone has own life style.
Important friend Talecharm is that we think is the good we do. Let us not make it a habit to compare ourselves with others. If they can do it better we can all
I've been there, when I was in high school I often ask myself why I am not good in Math I always compare myself to my classmates and through that I never felt the true happiness because most of us are competitive. I then found out that every has its own strength, its like the old saying of Einstein "if you compare the fish to a monkey because of its ability to climb the fish will think that he's not good the whole life."
I super agree my friend, we are all different in our own unique way so never compare yourself with anyone. Unfortunately some people can't help it specially in our society where competition is a big deal. But I do hope this would stop for us to live in peace.
This is a very important lesson. If we focus often on comparing ourselves negatively with others, we will become depressed or envious, and these are two very dangerous traits to cultivate. Everyone has strengths and weaknesses, even those people we think we don't measure up to. Everyone has insecurities. I think we will be better served focusing on honing our own skills and trying to always improve upon ourselves so that we can be better people rather than focus on someone else's life. I think of it like this: if life were a highway and I was driving along, not focused on the road ahead of me, but looking across at the cars passing me by and envying their make and model, I would end up in an accident. So we can't be distracted. If we are, we would stop our own progress by comparing ourselves with others. And so we must strive to curb that, and self love is so very important as well.
Fortunately, when I was little, I was not subjected to any comparisons other than parents. The thought of comparing yourself to another is like accepting failure. Or like losing a race!
I used to be guilty of this. Before I used to compare myself to other people and it makes me feel inferior but when I began to think of it, I realized that we don't do the same work, we don't spend money on the same things. So I stopped comparing my financial life to others and I found peace for myself
Comparing your self to one another can lead someone to early grave and it's can damage your future, what God deposited in me is not what deposited in you, human being are all different,if you want to compare your self you will do what you suppose not to do.
You are right, mate. We should not compare ourselves with others. We should just believe in ourselves and there is no need to prove anyone.
Comparing with others is a sign of immaturity. Yeah it will bring devastating result in the end. However it's a typical sins which we may have not confronts ever
That is why I never wanted to compare my self to others is sickening and its stealing the joy inside me. We make our own journey and we should not compare it to one another
That is why i love what Eleonor Roosevelt said that . Making friends with yourself first is important coz that is the only way you could be friends to other. Meaning accepting who you are, embracing what you are, loving your uniqueness, your own beauty and your own personality first can lead to a better acceptance of other people too. Accepting and loving your own self first will avoid the comparison in the process.
it will only become a burden in life if we only look at other people because this is where our weakness will continue to be people who are always jealous of what they have, be wise and appreciate what we have because from there we will understand the meaning of life and how to fight for it.
Comparing is the same as forcing ourselves to do beyond our capabilities.
Comparison is the thief of joy. We should quit measuring ourselves using other people's standards. We should run our race. We are all beautiful and we stand out in our respective fields.
