Why Filipinos Are One of The Happiest People Among The Earth
We might not be the wealthiest but we are the happiest. Even when we are stuck in a debt, we still manage to laugh. Even when we are experiencing life struggles and hardships we still manage to laugh. Even when we don't live in a beautiful house with luxurious cars, we still manage to enjoy and live our lives to the fullest. Yes, that's how it feels like to be a Filipino in this Earth.
We Filipino people likes to laugh, talk and smile all the time. Even you are a stranger, if you smile to us we will also smile back to you. We like greeting everyone even it's a stranger, if we saw someone won a contest and celebrating in the road side, we will greet even we barely know the person. If we saw our companions or friends a distant from us, we can't wait to talk to the person so we will yell to capture attention.
We like gatherings all the time
We like celebrating different occasions like for example, the fiesta. During the fiesta, we love inviting everyone we know to come in the house and we'll prepare a lot of foods on the table. As surprising as it is, a typical Filipino house is always filled with visitors everytime there's a fiesta celebration. We also have a videoke karaoke where everyone will sing in the microphone and sometimes there's a reward for someone who will get the highest score and that's what makes it very fun. It doesn't matter if you don't know how to sing, just sing and have fun.
We are a religious country
During the church hours, all the family will gathered by in the church and have a peace to each other. We have a lot of church organizations where we call each other brothers and sisters. The main aim of some organizations is to help each all the time and build compassions. In Christmas seasons, we need to complete the Simbang-gabi or Misa de Gallo. It is a devotional nine night masses that we Filipino people attended. They said if you will complete the Misa de Gallo, all your wishes will come true. The mass won't also be complete if we go alone in the church, we like to go by family, friends and peers altogether. Sometimes it can be the whole people in the neighborhood and the crowd will always be filled.
We have a very close family ties
We have a saying that it doesn't matter if we are poor and not rich as long as we have a complete family then we are already happy. We like family reunions where all the relatives will gathered by. Sometimes we do it when one of our family who is an OFW or Overseas worker came home. We will then volunteer a food that we can share on the table and we like to held it in the beach sides. Of course, I will not also forget to mention that when one of our OFW relatives go home, there will always be a lots of pasalubong or souvenirs like chocolates. All the young children will then gathered by and we will have a disco party.
We believe in the power of teamwork
Being a Filipino also means "one for all, all for one." We like to help each other especially in times of difficulties. We believe that beng successful alone is sad but being successful together is the happiest. We always encourage each other and motivate to keep going. We always have shoulders to lean on and a people whom we can have talk and chill session in times of stressful events.
We don't like to do divorce, we want a long-lasting marriage
In Philippines, there is no divorce because we believe that if the two couples sworn in front of the altar that they will love and keep each other for better or worse then we also need to stand for that vow eternally. In Philippines, we don't like broken family and that's why we always aim to have a long-lasting marriage life. A marriage is sacred here and having a complete family is is really important to us. We don't marry for a paper, we marry to have a happy family for the rest of our lives. We value loyalty inside the marriage.
The sun makes us socially active
The sun is always up and bright here in Philippines and it always make us want to look for our friends and explore the day. The brighter the day, the more socially active we are. While everytime our fellow Filipinos visit the other countries where the winter is longer, they notice how people can get depressed by the season. Dark days are uncommon here in Philippines, thus it's also rare for our personality to become dark.
Seeing a bright day means another memories will be created.
Our life is simple and we appreciate the things we have in life. Our elderlies will always tell the younger ones to be contented for what we have and be optimistic no matter what. We like to make people laugh across the world. It is a guilty feeling for us everytime we failed to welcome our guest at home. We love to show gratitude and care to everyone.
If I have to describe Philippines in one word, it is "Friendly."
