I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.

Psalm 139:14

"Why can't you be like her?"

"Look at your cousin, she's already successful."

"She's more beautiful than you."

"You can't beat her."

Those were just a few of the words that I constantly hear from the other people and my own family. Sometimes, they just deliver it in a funny way and I would just laughed with them as a response. I don't wanna be called as over sensitive or kill joy, that is why, I just choose to smile and show them that it's okay and I am not hurt.

Back then, I thought that nothing hurts more than being compared by your own family to other people. However, as the time passes by and as I get older, I have realized that it is more painful to hear those words being uttered by yourself, to yourself. I don't know if you guys do this, but often, it is me who mercilessly compares myself from the other people.

I am not sure if this is the effect of the other people's comparison and opinion to me. The only thing I remember was that, I woke up one day and I started questioning my abilities, potentials and my whole being. I lost my confidence and sense of identity.

Everytime I wanted to do or discover something new, I always get discouraged by those phrases that keeps on repeating in my mind. I mean, of course, there is always somebody who is better than us. However, we shouldn't let those voices hinder us from unleashing our potentials.

We can't really deny that sometimes, we can not stop ourselves from comparing it to other people. However, we shouldn't also forget that each of us has our own unique identity, characteristics and talents. God made us all differently, not because he has favoritism, but because we are destined to do different purpose in life. Just like what they always said, a man's body isn't just composed of ears, or mouth , or just all eyes. The presence of the hands, legs , head , knees, elbow and other parts are very crucial in order for that body to function the way it should be.

We should learn to appreciate and love and be kind to ourselves. We should be the first one to support us. Because at the end of the day, even if everybody turn their back on us, atleast, we still have ourselves.

Today's topic of our preacher emphasizes the importance of our differences. God is reminding us all that we are destined to do a certain purpose that nobody can fulfill but only us. You are different. Because You are one of a kind.

We are not created out of mistake, We are created because we are chosen.

Heyaaaa!

Thanks for reading ❀

God bless!

We always hear this phrases " Love yourself before others, find importance in your own way for you to know the importance of other people." Being compared to other people will definitely make you question your own on why aren't you good enough like them. But God made us different and special. We should never forget that.

Sorry ngayon lang nabasa...off days kasi pag weekends eh.. God Bless beb!!☺☺

It's awful to be compared to other people. But it's becomes even worst if you start comparing yourself as you said.

It's important that we don't compare ourselves to other people, but understand that we are all beautifully and wonderfully made by God.

That means we are unique in our abilities and potential and no one should make us look down on ourselves

Oh, the old comparison shenanigans. The world will be a whole lot better without those ignorant people always comparing one another, no one benefits from that, aside from the egotistical egomaniacs.

I still believe that we are all good as we are.

Same with me, yong sarili mo na mismo ang nagdadown. So pano na yon πŸ˜’

Oo nga eh. Di kasi maiwasan na di natin dibdibin yun. Sakit kaya i compare. Kaya wala tayo magawa kundi bumangun at piliting bunutin yung mga bagay na itinanim nila sa atin.

At the end we are the ones who could tell who we are and made that difference. Not the neighbors, nor the family. Not other people. If they would compare us to others, we shouldn't do that to ourselves. Especially if we know we did our best. Be different. Be confident. Continue to be who you are and what God design you to be. You are not design to please everybody anyways. You are design to please the Lord not the people. Never feel unworthy. God bless.

Ahhhh it's never good comparing. You are unique, you are you. There will be someone better, someone worse. Embrace yourself and play with your strengths.

Ouch. I know how it feels hearing those lines and from my own family too. We are unique, we don't need to be someone else. Let us be who we are.

We should learn to try and replace the word "comparison" with "learning". Instead of comparing ourselves, let's learn to learn something good from others. Happy Sunday, sis!

Korek! I was also been there. My grandparents used to compare me to classmates who are well-behaved. πŸ˜… Well, what can I do. I'm different from them I don't like to be in one place. But slowly, they accepted me for what I am.

Yep, Y-O-U are one of a kind! We were kind of 'unconsciously' programmed by our circle, our society to compare. Ranks, status, positions whatever. Good thing is that we have the ability to come to our senses and discover we don't need comparison :)
