It's always sad when leaders who you think are suppose to watch out for the masses doesn't do that but watch only for themselves and their families. I have always seen corrupt leaders in the web of corruption and money laundering. They took out money meant for taking care of the masses to abroad to save it for themselves and their family thereby creating a kind of money drainage in the country.
So sad these political leaders look at people and shun them immediately they are in the position of power. The only time people have power to vote the people of their choice into power is during election, but it's so equally sad that vote buying is very rampant in Nigeria. All these leaders have no atom of empathy for their people, all they want is more power.
You see in difficult times like this period, it is the masses that suffers the most, when the basic needs of man such as food has become a 'gold' only affordable to the wealthy. Of course it doesn't affect the politicians, it is the masses that suffers most all these things. Right now, many things have gone high in price with the government doing absolutely nothing to curb the situation.
You see them riding exotic cars all around without doing anything substancial during their tenure in their office of power. Most of them don't know that power is given to serve others, it is given because with power comes different responsibilities which must be done. You see them shining radiantly with people's money while the people looks haggard because there's nothing for them to eat. Some private individuals in philanthropic acts has impacted more lives than the government herself. This government don't really care at all.
They have always known to silence or even kill anyone who oppose them. Countless of many people who have being silenced through bribe or by killing them because they were once speaking against them. You all remembered Dele Giwa the journalist who was killed some years ago by a letter bomb, not to talk of those that are not mentioned.
Government appointments are always shared between themselves, qualified people who should be appointed to the posts of power will not be picked thus reflecting how corruption has eaten deep into our governmental systems. Imagine a person who has no knowledge of what the office entails is been given the position mainly because of connections.
You can only see the humble side of those politicians during campaign and election period, they will show their angelic side to the masses because they wants their votes. Once they assumed power they forget all those who help them gets to power, all the electoral promises made won't be fulfilled by them. They will rather be postponing what should have been done urgently. There's no continuation in development at all, a newly elected leader won't in any way develop what has been started by the previous government, they will always want to embark on futile projects that won't be completed by them too till they leave the office thereby wasting resources on half baked projects.
Youths who should be leaders of tomorrow are employed to serve as thugs for all these bloody politicians to cause mayhem in the society. They are always glad to employ jobless youths for their selfish advantage. They won't create jobs for the youths who are unemployed but are always ready to use them during elections to cause troubles. They will keep their sons and daughters abroad during elections while they use the gullible youths for their own interests.
Are we to also talk about how these people keeps looting money to build private universities for themselves which the poor can't of course have access to such schools. Public Universities which is the hope of the poor and average nigerians are not maintained or developed to the modern time taste. What about the palliatives hoarded by these miscreants that was discovered by people some couple of weeks ago. Imagine food that are meant to be distributed and shared been kept by some evil leaders with no apparent reasons.
We must wake up against oppression by these heartless government. Say no to government brutality. The power is with the people not the government. Together we stand, united we fall. Nigeria shall be great again.
Great write up
