The plight of a Nigerian Student Except you studied or is studying in a private university in Nigeria, there's no guarantee of a hitch free or smooth academic tenure of a student in Nigeria. Ranging from internal strikes to strikes because of Asuu. Many four years course are being studied for more than five years in Nigeria universities owning to incessant strikes. Only students who scale more smoothly in schools are the ones in the private institutions. Public universities in Nigeria are nothing to write home about. Do we need Asuu at all? This is the question I was deliberating on as a student. Meanwhile Asuu has been on industrial strike since God knows when. They keep saying they are fighting for the interests of Nigeria students which is of course a lie from hell. They keep fighting for their selfish interests and their pockets. Asuu is nothing but a hindrance to the smooth educational system in this country. Federal Government sometimes ago asked all the lecturers to register under the platform called IPPIS(Integrated Personnel and Payroll Information System) which will help in enabling transparency in paying staffs and to discourage mediocrity. The platform aimed at detecting some lecturers who are receiving double salaries and those working in more than one institutions. The development by the government was welcomed with a lot of criticisms and many universities show their disinterest in it. For more than five months now in this year, Asuu has embarked on industrial strike which of course has had a negative toll on students nationwide. Now with this matter still at its inconclusive stage, I can't but imagine the future of students in this country. What will be our fate? Incessant industrial strikes have made many students lose their opportunity of serving after graduation. In Nigeria, Graduates from Universities and from polytechnics are always mandated to serve their father's land(Nigeria) for 12 months. It's called NYSC(National Youth Service Corps). A graduate who as a result of age barrier or other reasons was unable to pass through NYSC will have difficulty in securing government jobs in Nigeria except he or she is a child of a politician who can unscrupulously maneuver their ways to the top. But for an average graduate with no connections anywhere, it's always hard being employed talk less of not serving. Now with the pandemic and strike combined, almost one academic year have been wasted which can't be recovered. Some students who are in their final year before the strike has been delayed now and no hope of resuming soon, they keep aging at home. Many will reach the age limit of 30 years of age whereby they won't be allowed to serve again. Many that are supposed to graduate and go for their NYSC this year can't do that again since some of them clocked 30 this year. Now you asked whose fault, theirs or the Federal Government and Asuu?. Agitation is not been made on how to improve the educational system in the country, how to meet with the world standards. All what our dear Asuu is agitating for is money and only money alone. You go to some of the public institutions today, basic academic infrastructures and facilities that aids learning are so mundane and lacks good qualities. Check out the academic theatres and lectures hall, their capacity is not enough to contain students. Some will have to sit on the floor to receive lectures from the lecturers. No tangible provisions was made to curtail this. Federal Government and Asuu decides to look the other way. Indeed it's always difficult for the children of the masses in Nigeria. Most of this shortcomings are not in private universities, only in public universities. Most students would have preferred to study in private universities but they lack the financial capacity. Even to study in a public university is an impossible dream for some people because of money factor. The strike nevertheless has provided me the opportunity to enhance my knowledge and skills in some specific areas though it can't be said for all students. Many have simply be unlucky during this lockdown. Thanks to read.cash for helping me to know more about cryptos like Bitcoin cash. I have also met with important people who have really added value to me both on the internet and real life. Till we resume back to school, we keep moving and never giving up. Hope the duo finished their palaver and let us resume back to school. Asuu stands for Academic staff union of universities

The greatness of Joseph Joseph is the eleventh son of Jacob. His mother Rachael had two sons, himself and Benjamin. Jacob loved Joseph more than all other children of Leah, his stepmother because he was a son of his old age. Jacob bought him a coat of many colours and that was where the troubles of Joseph started. Joseph always reported his brothers to their father, Jacob. As a result, his brothers hated him the more; already they had hated him because of his dreams and because of their father's love for him. This led to several persecutions from his brothers, which included throwing him into the pit and selling him to Egyptian traders, who later sold him to Portiphar. One thing I saw in this place was the utter jealousy of his brothers but which was caused by Jacob their father. It's not always good to prefer one child to another. Parents should endeavor to love their children equally and they should create an egalitarian atmosphere around their children. In case where the parents can't love all of them equally, it will only be reasonable not to show that partial love towards the children, let them be ignorant of your partiality. Jacob made a mistake and it affected Joseph. Meanwhile Joseph turned out to be a faithful and dutiful servant and this made his master, portiphar, love him. As a result, he gave Joseph free hand and made him manager over all his property. Portiphar's wife, however, had an ulterior motive towards him. She wanted to sleep with him. Joseph knew that such is a sin and abomination before God, he chose to run out naked than to sin against his God. His honesty landed him in the prison. Let's look at it this way, if it happened to any of us, will we continue to be honest and holy? People nowadays love to practice godliness when they are comfortable and are not bothered by life challenges. Once they are a little bit challenged they lose their faith. Joseph didn't disappoint God and God vindicated him and promote him to the palace. It is good to be persistent in doing what is right. Joseph became the prime minister in Egypt. Through him, his family members and the entire Isreal were preserved during the great world famine. Some great lessons to learn from Joseph: 1. Have a forgiving heart. Do you know that his brothers initially planned to kill him before he was sold to the Egyptian traders. Yet Joseph had a forgiving heart. He forgave them all of their atrocious behaviors towards him. They sold him into slavery but God used that to promote him, he was able to forgive them. We should also endeavor to forgive whoever offend us. Life is not meant to be harbouring malice or anger. Forgive others so that God can forgive you of your sins too. God is always happy with forgivers. Always be like Joseph who shown his mercy even to his brothers who didn't deserve it. 2. Be proud of your father. Joseph brought his father before pharaoh, the king of Egypt. He was not ashamed to present his father to pharaoh, even though Jacob was old. He even asked for land for his family to tend their flock because they were shepherds. You should be proud to introduce your father anytime anywhere no matter who he is. He has done so much for you, and in return, you should make him happy. Many people today don't like to show their fathers off to people, not because their fathers are bad. Many do hide their parents away from people because they didn't want to be associated with them especially when the parents are old, many hide their parents from people because they are physically disabled. 3. Be a solution. Joseph rescued his father and the entire Isreal from famine. He used the wisdom and wealth God bestowed on him to help his people in a difficult time. If not for Joseph, it would have been difficult for them to survive the famine. Christian Youths should be able to think of godly and worthy things to do to alleviate the sufferings of their families such as possessing skills that can generate income. Also, make a decision to take good care of your parents when they are old.

Suicide and the way out Many people today has seen suicide as a means to put an end to their personal troubles. Life is precious and we have to value it, many have died due to petty reasons which do not worth the act. Sometimes ago I read on the internet about a female student who committed suicide because her boyfriend broke up with her and many others who have committed suicide because they lack emotional intelligence on how to resolve their personal problems. They committed this act and put their loved ones into sorrows and despair. After Judas betrayed Jesus, he became guilty and was in utter despair. He felt separated from Christ and the apostles. After commiting treachery against Jesus, he felt as if a bridge was broken behind him. He felt miserable and deserted, such is the lot of a betrayer. He no longer had pleasure in the silver he coveted. He realized that he has betrayed an innocent blood. He threw the pieces of silver into the temple and departed, as he went to hang himself. He committed suicide and ultimately he eventually experienced separation of his soul from God. Peter on the other hand also denied Jesus three times before the rooster crowed, but he didn't commit suicide. He wept bitterly for his sin and that was repentance. Hence he was restored and he was the same Peter Jesus committed his church to after Jesus resurrection. Judas lacked emotional intelligence, Peter didn't. Some bible scholars even weigh the sins of the two disciples and it was assumed that even Peter sinned more greatly than Judas because he betrayed God three times. But Peter found grace. Suicide is simply the act of killing oneself. This act originates from the heart and is a very great sin against God. Anyone who takes his or her life is considered a murderer. People commit suicide for many reasons. In history, it is common among the older people who are frustrated to commit suicide. But nowadays, we see young people commiting suicide because of one problem or the other. Judas Iscariot was a covetous person and this led to him to betray his master. He committed suicide as a result of guilt. Suicidal act is punishable by God. Anyone who commits suicide will end up in hell fire. Some people commit suicide because they do not want to face the consequences of their actions or because some things they did in secret, which they are not proud of, come to the open. Some people commit suicide for reasons such as disappointment, failure, delay in securing their desire, hatred, lack of peace at home, lack of finance, body odour and illness. We should know that God created us for a purpose and he has a good plan for us. No matter the challenges you are facing today, you should never kill yourself. Do not commit suicide. God loves you and he has a solution to your problems. You can trust him for solutions and breakthrough. Always know that every problem has an expiry date. It started one day; it will definitely end one day. Know that the present situation is not the end of your life. Never lose hope. Continue to have faith in God in every situation of life. How to avoid the evil called suicide 1. Repent of your known or hidden sin and surrender your life to Christ 2. Share your inner concerns with your parents of mature Christian (s) 3. Fill your mind with God's word 4. Be truthful always and stop watching ungodly movies 5. Trust God for every situation of your life. There is a blessing in every disappointment.

Food scam? Have you been ever scammed through food before? Have you been in a crossroad where eating is your ultimate priority that moment and the provider of food had to maneuver you to do something against your will before you can eat? It's called food scam. Remembered in high school where some of our mates always wanted to buy us foods and goodies if only they can copied our works. Some of us fall to that trick while others took their stand and maintained their integrity. Either way everyone of us has been manipulated in this aspect in one way or the other. Esau and Jacob were children of Isaac and Rebecca in the Bible. They were different in behavioral traits, appearance and temperament. While Jacob was a quiet and reserved man who loves to stay at home most of the time with his mother, Esau was the opposite, he was a man of adventure, who you will always find in the field working for the family and full of vigour. Jacob schemed to get the birthright of his brother, Esau. Esau had no spiritual appreciation. He would rather feed his body than enjoy the promises of God. As a result, Esau despised his spiritual privileges as the firstborn. He chose the flesh, not the spirit. He chose food, and not God's promises. He could not control his appetite, he preferred to trade his birthright in order to satisfy his stomach. The soup he ate was not detestable, not because it was bad, but because by eating it, he sold his birthright. In Israel, birthright is the right belonging naturally to the firstborn son, whether the child of a legal wife or a concubine. Such a person ultimately became the head of the family, the line being continued through him. As firstborn, he inherited a double portion of the paternal estate. What a pity for Esau. He missed the grace of God because of food. Detestable food is any abomination food. It's any food that does not glorify God either in preparation or in its offering. We must learn to control our appetite. Do not be a glutton. Do not sell your birthright because of food like Esau did. We must always understand that there's nothing bad in saying 'NO' to anything, especially food that could destroy you or your destiny, even if you are hungry. Do not give your body, steal or beg for food. Be disciplined in your eating habit. Many can reveal their life secrets for a bowl of rice. Do not fall in love with food to the point that you will find it difficult to discipline yourself. Whatever enjoyment you get from food is temporary. Avoid covetousness, rather trust God for his provisions, he will surely provide for you. It's not all food offered that one could eat. One needs to be selective and know what is good for him or her as a child of God. Some teenage girls have fallen victims of rape, because they were unable to control their appetite. They were raped because they drank what they were not supposed to drink or eat. Be the Daniel of your time by refusing to defile yourself as a result of the king's food. What makes food detestable? 1. When the motive of the giver of the food is evil. A food is detestable if the reason for giving it is bad, immoral or evil. A food given to lure another person into immorality is detestable. 2. When the food has been offered to idol. Any food offered to idol is not fit to eat as children of God. God is a jealous God who will not tolerate rivalry. All food must be offered and sanctified by God in place of prayers. 3. When food is spoilt or harmful. Foods that are harmful to your health are detestable and are not advised to be taken 4. When the food is shameful or disgraceful. You can start eat rightly by constantly filling yourself with the word of God. Be self-controlled and disciplined in the way you eat. It's not everything you eat. Another way is to be develop contentment. Always be contented with whatever you have. Have control over your passion and taste and finally resolve to please God even in your appetite.

Three things to know before embarking on Marriage The concept of Marriage differs among people in different places. Its purpose and how it is often seen differs among many people owning to diversities of religious beliefs and personal beliefs. So I will be discussing about its concept both from the religion point of view and from other point of view not relating to religious beliefs. God ordained marriage and he has a motive for doing that. Marriage by God is to promote companionship and also for procreation and enjoyment. It's often considered sacred as God commanded that marriage should be done by pure partners. God frowns at defilement and therefore people going into marriage must be pure most especially sexually. Marriage is founded because God realized that it is needed to curb loneliness and weariness of Adam back in the first days Looking at marriage from another perspective. Marriage is another form of union which when formed help to strengthen social cohesion and of course is needed for the continuous survival of human race. Some regarded marriage as a just means to satisfy sexual urges. Sociologists opined that marriage is a social construct and is cultural universal. That is, it occurs almost in every societies or places. Though the objectives of marriage over the ages still remain the same, marriage has taken the form of dynamism. How it is done and the procedures in doing it has taken new forms in the contemporary age. Long time ago marriage can be done just within the confines of the families alone. Blessings are shared between the partners solemnly by their family without noise which of course has taken a little change presently. People now wed in churches, mosques, temples or in court (Court Marriage). In light of the recent developments. It is only logical that you don't bump into marriage without any motive. Many entered into marriage for wrong reasons why many simply enter without any reasons at all. These two set of people will always have marital challenges because marriage is a lifelong journey, let's regard it as a journey of permanence. This discourse is not aimed at knowing what challenges they will go through, instead it aim at letting people understand what they need to know before going into marriage. I will be discussing some of the things you need to be prepared for and know before going into marriage. If you want to read on why marriages crash often in our present time, you can read it here, https://read.cash/@Seersam/marriage-crash-often-why-87861063 https://read.cash/@Seersam/why-marriages-crash-today-bc517150 1. Financial Commitment. You see, you must be prepared financially before you marry. This is very vital and important, marriage comes with many expenses and spendings. You need to spend during your wedding and of course after that. It's not that you have to be excessively rich before you can marry but you can't be poor too and be considering marriage. Have some streams of income which will help you in meeting some of the financial challenges eventually when you get married. You need to take care of your family and you can't do that without money. This is what differentiate a ready man and a teen in the issue of marriage. It's expected that the ready man knows how much financial sacrifice he has to offer to keep his marriage. Have a good plan for your family, don't rush if you aren't ready financially. 2. Beauty is not enough. If you are considering a lasting marriage permit me to say this, beauty shouldn't be only the prerequisite for marriage. There are other things you need to know about your partners. Keeping a lasting marriage sometimes doesn't have anything to do with beauty. The fact is that study her character too and check if you are comfortable with that habit. Sincerely old habits die hard and beauty is ephemeral. There's some time in marriage when you will realize that the beauty you once cherished has been depreciated, all you will see is the actual person he or she is with their character and traits. Don't marry only because of her sexy body which will fade along the way, marry her because of something worth more, something of substance. Know who she is both in her manner of approach and how she talks. "Better to live on the roof than share the house with a nagging wife"(Proverbs 21:9) Check out the level of neatness. All these may be insignificant to you but they really matters. You don't want to marry a woman who can't keep a room clean 3. No perfect partner. You must have heard the saying that nobody is perfect. Well the same goes for people in marriage too. Marriage can only work if the partners want it so. It's not one sided. There's no perfect somebody anywhere, that's why you need to have tolerance before embarking on voyage of marriage. In marriage there's no perfect person, you need to work together as a whole, identity your strengths and work on your weaknesses together. If you can't exercise a lot of patience when dealing with matters please don't go into marriage. Marriage is for those who are emotionally matured and can watch out each other's backs. You don't always have to prove yourself as "Mr always right" in marriage, you won't gain anything from it. There are many things that are needed to know before marrying. It's not just something to rush into. Take time to reach out to happy people that have been in marriage for quite some times and learn from them. Learn from their mistakes in order to improve yourself.

Reasons why people don't want to see a Counselor Have you ever felt the need to go and see a counselor about some personal problems maybe marital or education wise? Counseling is an academic field and it actually gives a professional the ability to change lives and inspire others through counseling. This is to show that counselling as a discipline or an act is useful and has helped many people in overcoming some of their life challenges. Counseling can be seen as a process which takes place in a one to one relationship which subsist between a problematic individual who of course cannot cope with his or her problems with or and a professional worker(counselor) whose trainings and experiences qualify him to help others arrive at solutions to their personal problems. Personal problems may include marital challenges, emotional difficulties and so on. It should be noted that counselling is different from guidance though sometimes people are fond of using the two terms interchangeably. Counseling is much more wider than guidance. A professional counsels buy anyone can serve as a guidance. Our parents always guide us in some of the ways of life, that's guidance. Counseling is often strictly more of confidentiality or secrecy while guidance can take place anywhere and anytime.  It's worth knowing that anyone can initiate guidance but only a trained counselor can initiate counseling. There are some myths surrounding Counseling as a subject matter. These myths help people to think of the meaning of counselling in another way. Some perceived counseling as a negative thing and always show their disinterest in going to see a counselor due to some of the myths below. 1. Counseling is only meant for rich people. Many simply believe that counselling services is only opened for rich people which is not so. There have been quite a good number of establishments for this purpose which charge relatively low and affordable by all and sundry. Some of the government owned don't even charged any amount for counselling services. People often believed rumors and hearsays easily without confirming them. Counseling is not only for the rich but for all. It's not only the rich who are passing through challenges. Sometimes challenges comes our way irrespective of our status 2. Counselors exploit people's weakness. Many people have been led to believe that a counselor will only exploit people to his own advantage. A good counselor does not do that. Many people in marital challenges are afraid to open up to counselors of what they are going through in their marriage because of this misconception. A trained counselor is a professional who has rules and regulations he abides by. A counselor is there to help you to find solutions to your problems not to add to it. Many men who are in some marital challenges always find it difficult to open up to the counselor about their wives because they thought their might be usurp from the counselors to their wives. How funny that is. 3. Counselors act like a dictator. Many believed that counselors will always dictate what is to be done. This doesn't happen all the time. In counseling there is what we call direct and indirect approach. A counselor is not a dictator. He is only there to guide you to possible solutions. Through quality conversations and guide, you realize you also take a part in finding solutions to your own problems. You can always follow or disregard professional advice given to you by the counselor. That shows freedom on your own end to decide for yourself ultimately. 4. Counseling last for years. Due to our dynamic nature. Counseling can always take out new form due to the myriad of events that might have taken place. Your job is to keep yourself updated with by going to the counselor often. A professional guidance given today may be asked to be discarded tomorrow most especially if there have been some turn of events. Don't assume that counsel given is all sufficient and you don't need to go to the counselor again soon. Counseling is still a field just coming up in Nigeria as Universities are trying to produce graduates who can work in the capacity of a Guidance and Counseling professional. Try to talk to a counselor about your problems. They are not random strangers but professionals who will help you with possible solutions. Thanks

Essence of New birth for operating in supernatural realm This is another aspect from the focus of our study, for us to know the necessity of New birth for performing supernatural. To read about the first part of this study where we talked about New birth as the only way to access the supernatural, click here https://read.cash/@Seersam/new-birth-the-only-way-to-access-the-supernatural-484ade03 It is good because before anyone can break any ground such must have experienced self(flesh) brokenness. In John 3:2, Nicodemus said "Rabbi we know you are a teacher who has come from God. For no one could perform the miraculous signs you are doing if God were not with him". From Nicodemus experience and thought, he knew that Jesus is a teacher due to all the teachings he have had from him(Jesus) during the day, and Jesus is performing miraculous signs, that is God has transposed Jesus from the level of teaching alone to the realm of performing supernatural works. Jesus now answers him(Nicodemus) "I tell you the truth no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again"(John 3:3). From the two verses, that is verse 2 and 3 , it's seen as if it doesn't correspond to each other. Nicodemus said all what you are doing no one can do it except God is with such person and Jesus replied no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again. The scripture say "He(God) knows the end from the beginning". Jesus knew where Nicodemus will end to. And from all the conversation of Jesus, emphasis is been laid more on "Born again" which means New birth, also we can call it incubation, discipline, a place of forming, preparation. Etc. At this juncture, any christian that has not experienced New birth; such cannot operate in supernatural realm. If we did not forget the place where the disciples are first called Christian is because they are performing supernatural works. E.W. Kenyon said "If we remove supernatural from Christianity, it will automatically change to mere religion". That is supernatural minus Christianity is equal to Religion. There are some people that we need to check, those that released themselves for proper New birth, incubation and discipline in order for God to use them to perform many wondrous works in their time. Moses: He that released what is serving as his daily need(rod, staff) for God to make use of it.(Exodus 4:1-4). And this happened because Moses is the one who has been destined to bring Isrealites out from slavery land. Peter: This is one of the disciples of Jesus Christ that released all what he had as a fisher and followed Jesus and since then; his name, occupation changed. " I will make you fishers of men"(Matthew 4:19). This made him  have deeper relationship with Jesus. Now why does this New birth important for us? 1. For continuous renewal inwardly. (2cor 4:16) 2. There will be releasing of power. (John 1:12) 3. We will be led by Holy spirit always. (Romans 8:14) 4. We will have our own portion in his kingdom. (John 3:3-8)

Popular Participation in Politics Sometimes the problem of poor governance doesn't come from the leaders but the citizens of a country. In a situation whereby people show apathy to the governmental affairs in their country, it will also have negative effects politically. Political participation is the opposite of political apathy which is the process by which citizens of a country gets involved and active in the political and governmental affairs of their country. They have a say in the decision making process in the country. Political participation implies that the people are concerned about what is going on in their country. They simply lack apathy, they want to involve and influence the decisions that can help their country move forward in the political realm. If you want to read my previous article on political apathy, you can check it out here. https://read.cash/@Seersam/political-apathy-using-nigeria-as-a-case-study-6a51e50a Let's look at some of the ways we can participate politically or dimensions of political participation. 1. Contesting elections into different public offices. While many are always blaming the front tier leaders of incompetence. You can also exhibit political participation by contesting for office of power where you feel you are capable. Some are competently trained and knowledgeable in diverse areas of politics. Such can contest for corresponding offices to be elected. Don't just stand down and blame others. Contest during elections. This is one of the ways of political participation. 2. Voting in elections without accepting bribes. Yes voting is an electorate power or the masses weapon to pick who they want into the position of power. You want somebody to be elected as a president? You can only do that through voting. Displaying nonchalant attitude during voting always result to incompetent leaders being chosen. Voting during elections give us the opportunity to vote for our preferred candidate. You don't have to be bribed to vote the wrong person into power. Vote for the right person. Voting under duress is not a good vote and should not exist under a democratic government because everybody has the right to vote for whoever they want. 3. By belonging to a political party which will help people to take active roles in the political affairs. Political party consists of people who are organized by feature and share the same political beliefs, values and view. They are interested in gaining the control of government so that their political objectives and programmes can be achieved. By joining a political party, you shared in their ideologies and you are ready to promote the good political values of your party. Belonging to a political party also enable the national interests to be shared. 4. By writing political articles in the newspaper, newsletters, journals. Etc. This will help to create more awareness and sensitization to people far away. Writing political articles will help people to know what is present and trending in regards to the position affairs of their country. This act of participation in Political affairs can help people to also check the government regularly especially when they're trespassing. You will agree with me that a country whereby there's full participation of people will move forward political and in all other areas too. Popular participation in politics will bring about transparency in the government because the government knows that the citizens are watching them and they are accountable to them. This will in turn reduce corruption in the society. A society full of apathy towards the governmental affairs is most likely to suffer for it. The government will do such people anyhow because they don't have any watchdogs to check them regularly. Popular participation in politics will also bring a sense of ownership and belonging to people of the society since they realized that directly or indirectly they're the influencer of whatever happens to them. It also helps to bring unity and progress to the people.

New Birth, the only way to access the supernatural Birth is the process of being born. A way of reproducing new life. New on the other hand means "not existing before, recently made or produced something different". Before we can call something new, it means there is an old. If there's no old, then we can't have new.(2Cor. 5) This is giving us understanding that there is an old nature as well. If there is anything like new birth, it means there is something existing before which is an old nature. Before God promise to give a new heart to the people of Isreal, there is an old heart(heart of disobedience and stone) that exist in them because they are operating at the realm of old nature. (Jer. 31:31-34) God promised Isreal a new heart because new heart always come with new birth(new life). Old nature with old heart are always together and thus a new heart can never operate in old nature.(Matt. 9:16-17). Now let is explore why the old nature exist and the reasons why we need to receive the new birth. **THE CAUSE OF OLD NATURE EXISTENCE**. Who is Man? Man is a spirit living in the body that has a soul. He is created by God just in his image and likeness, exactly like himself. Men resemble God in all ways and possess extraordinary abilities that makes him a supernatural being as God himself such as: Ability to Dominate Ability to work and protect Ability to create Ability to make choice Ability to reason God always do things with reasons. He will never do anything without a reason. He had reasons for creating man in his image and likeness. He created man to; Rule and dominate.(Gen 1:28) Reflect his glory as light in the darkness of the world. Be fruitful and multiply. Man was perfectly created by God without defects, before man disobeyed God and the disobedience is the source of old nature existence, because what makes him man is what is inside him not the outer part. After the first man fell by disobeying God, the spirit of the Lord departed and his life became empty, void of grace. Man remain like that till he gave birth to his first child and because, we are his descendants, we inherit the nature. Old nature is what all human being has inherited from the first man, Adam. Now there is no way for the purpose of God for creating man to be fulfilled. **THE NEED FOR NEW BIRTH** Man is now entitled to eternal suffering and destruction. The only means of escaping is for sacrifice to be made and Jesus has gave his life as the sacrificial offering and shed his blood for the atonement of our sins.(Romans 5:9). He has opened the way for us to come closer to God and approach the throne of grace just as before. He restored us back to our position as supernatural being but the only way to operate and experience the supernatural is through new birth. The only way to access it is through the new birth. New birth is the platform on which supernatural is standing upon. You need to receive new birth in order to Become the child of God Escape eternal destruction Power and authority over all principalities Perform signs and wonders. **STEPS INTO THE NEW BIRTH** Acknowledge that you are a sinner Believe in the saving power of Christ Pray for forgiveness of sins Confess Jesus as your Lord Then you can join a discipleship Class or Bible study class to help you grow spiritually. **CONSEQUENCES OF REJECTING NEW BIRTH.** Condemnation Captivation by the enemy You cannot see the kingdom of God or experience it. Eternal death and destruction

Underweight babies and the implications Have you ever been to a nutritional rehabilitation most especially for babies in the hospital before? You see different kinds of babies not up to a year old so skinny and weak while you see some babies so beautiful and adorable in size that you already admire them at the first sight. Good Nutrition and balanced diet are very important to both babies and adults. You wondered why some give birth to underweight or undersized babies. This happens mostly when the woman during their pregnancy state did not take good food or balanced diet. Some will not bother to check the type of food they are supposed to eat. Medical advices on foods and fruits to be taken by a pregnant woman are always dished out at a hospital. All these are necessary so that a healthy baby can be born. In adults most especially the women who just gave birth, balanced diet is compulsory to be taken always. This will help in the rapid growth and development of the baby too as most of the nutrients derived from the food taken are being passed to the babies too in form of breast milk. Now that we know that food intake with poor nutritional value can cause underweight babies when born, what are the ways to correct that deficiency in babies? Firstly, During your pregnancy, you must eat good food and make sure your food is always balanced. That is, there should be presence of the six classes of food in your meal. They are; 1. Carbohydrates which are necessary to gives you energy and power. Bread, Rice, Yam, Grains etc are good examples of carbohydrates. Carbohydrates are also needed in digestive system and help in heart control. 2. Protein are necessary for body building. They help to ward off against diseases and is needed in a pregnant women's food. Examples of proteinous food are beans, milk etc. 3. Vitamins is further categorized into different forms. Nevertheless vitamins help in repairing cellular damage and boost the immune system. Vitamins are most found in fruits and vegetables. 4. Fats and oil. Fats can be found in avocados and olive. Fats is essential as it provide energy and insulate body organs. 5. Minerals are needed for body growth, maintenance and development. They are essential for good health. Minerals include calcium and iron found in  cereals, meat, fish etc. 6. Water is life and is needed to aid digestion. Water cannot be substituted for anything as we can't all survive long without water. So you might wondered how babies who are underweight or small in size can cause problems for themselves or their parents. These are some of the problems associated with having an underweight baby. 1. An underweight baby or a small sized baby will also have a small size organs inside their body. The weight of a child is almost the same as the organs inside their body. A baby with little weight will have a little immune system in his body and that could pose a threat 2. An underweight baby will also have little strength and may feel weak always. A weightless body has a weightless brain because the body will affect the brain too. 3. Hardly will you see a skinny baby who is beautiful. This is because this also affects their physiological features too. This can have a psychological impact on the babies when they grow up. There are many disadvantages of having a baby with small size but the good news is that it can be rectified. All you need to do is to go to the hospital and let them know what you are experiencing with your baby. Place yourself and your baby under a very good nutritional plan. It's also good to prevent nutritional deficiency in babies while they are still young. Be optimistic that your baby can still be better and pick up. Married people with kids like @tired_momma can also talk more on this out of their experiences too.

Dare to be different! A cry often symbolize that a child is been born and born alive. That's when the race of life commences, infact it commence right from the womb. Life is but a race and a journey, either consciously or not, everybody has their own aspirations and goals ahead of them. Sometimes your parents set out your life goals even before you come of age. I wondered if there can be life void of competition or rivalry. Buddhist worshippers believe that to be truly happy in life, you have to abstain from competitions and struggles in the world, that's why you see Buddhist monks in their temples meditating solemnly far away from the hustle and bustle of the far away world. Life is but a race, you have to gear up yourself not to be left behind. Infact most of our lives is been influenced by the society we live in.  The society we live in expect people to graduate from school at a particular age, same for marriage and all other life events. A person who decides not to follow the dictates of the society is seen as a psychopath. As an individual living in a society, it is always difficult to live in contradictions to the norms and values of the society. It is always difficult to live the way you want to. Societal expectations will always confine you to a corner. Many people cannot stand up for what they believe because they thought the society will stand up against them. Right from the inception, many of us have always been driven by people around us, we have always been conformed to the society will for us. Many will see themselves as failure because they completed school "late" by the society expectations and many instances like that. You don't have to follow the multitude, you don't have to be afraid of what people will say or think about you. If you believe in yourself and you know you are on the right track, don't be hindered by any external factors. Because you are more than thirty years of age you think you can't see the true partner to marry again, no. Dispose that thought and be optimistic. You don't know what tomorrow will bring. Consider some great people who did not allow the society to influence their life. Consider Abraham Lincoln and how he tried to become the president many times before he finally became one. Many people will have talked to him to give up that the position is not meant for him, did he listen to them? No, and he later succeeded. What about Barack Obama, which was black and was still determined to be the president. Many will have tried to divert him but did he listen to them? No. Life is but a race, you are expected to be at a stage at a particular age, that's why people will always mocked people who missed it lately. Consider the troubles of a grown man still studying in high school. He will have to face many psychological and emotional distress during his studying. That's how life is, indirectly you are influenced by the society. You have to listen to your parents and get married when they want you too, same can be said about your education too. We struggle to become someone relevant in life, that's why we go to school and study hard, hardly do you know that some are forced to go to school not because they want to. Some are forced to study the course they have no interest for. What about arranged marriage which is often employed to facilitate the interests of both parents of their children only without considering the interests of their children. Dare to be different in the right manner, you are the one responsible for your life. Don't live to please others but only God because you can't please all. Do what you ought to do not because of others influence but because you are driven by yourself and yourself only.

The need for Family Planning Family planning is a programme aimed at helping families especially couples to plan for their children in manners of spacing and numbers. Family planning today has been given more attention to than the olden days when people just give birth anyhow without adequate planning. Family planning helps in many ways that cannot be overemphasized. Every clinic or hospitals today always have a family planning unit or section whereby matters relating to families and children are being treated and managed. Many people believe that family planning is only related to the women alone which is not so, it relates to the father or husband also. That's why it is often encouraged that both the husband and the wife go together to the family planning section because there are some questions that are often asked by the practitioners which can be best answered by both. Family planning is in two dimensions, there is one in which people do that is permanent, once you do it you can't give birth again. This is often given to those who have made up their mind not to give birth again. The second one is given ephemerally, that is for a short period of time. So  why do we do family planning? 1. Family planning helps to prevent unwanted pregnancies. Family planning also take care of this issue. There are some people who will tell you that the pregnancy they are carrying is by mistake and it is unwanted, funny right?. Either way, unwanted pregnancies can be averted if there's family planning between the partners. By proper family planning, you know when you want to give birth and when you don't want to. Another thing to note is that it subsequently prevent abortion. An unwanted pregnancy may be aborted or terminated. This may lead to serious complications for the mother. In extreme cases the mother dies sometimes when there is no good doctor to handle the abortion. Family planning prevents all these shortcomings because you won't have to be pregnant talk less of removing it because you did not want it. 2. Helps to regulate the spacing of children. Employing short term family planning will help you to determine and regulate the spacing of your children. Some are so careless that their present baby won't be up to a year before they are pregnant again. Although there are no rules against this, but abnormal spacing of children can harm the mother most especially if the present child is not up to a year before giving birth to another baby again. It can affect the mother physiologically as two babies have to be sharing milk among themselves. That's why family planning is always employed to take care of this. With adequate family planning, one will know the correct spacing of children that will not harm the mother. In hospital, the family planning practitioners always encourage minimum of three years to give birth again after you have given birth to one initially. 3. Another need for family planning is that it will help the family to know the exact number of children they can afford to give proper care to. Many people today just give birth without having adequate resources to take care of them. But once people go to the hospital, they are given good medical advice relating to giving birth to children they can take proper care of. Sometimes some women are also advised not to give birth to many children because it can affect their health. All these can only be known if you go to the hospital, that's why going to the hospital is always ideal for medical advice. 4. Family planning also prevent unfaithfulness. A wife who has engaged in family planning will not find it difficult to give her husband sex whenever he needs it. It's only women without any family planning that will be denying their husbands sex because they don't want to become pregnant again. But with family planning, this is often averted and the couple can enjoy sex anytime they feel like. This preventing unfaithfulness since there is no denial of sex which can make the husband to look out. Family planning is good and very affordable as Government has made it easier for everybody. Just go with your wife to the nearest hospital. Family planning helps in lot of ways. Indirectly it helps in population control too.

Tips on how to take care of yourself during pregnancy Many pregnant women today don't know how to take care of themselves. A pregnant woman is in a very delicate position, that's why it is important to always go to the hospital regularly for check ups, otherwise known as antenatal. Some don't like to go for antenatal, this can affect negatively the child and the woman. Going for antenatal in a good hospital will help you to know the necessary things to do to aid the child birth. Tips on the dos and don'ts are always being explained too. Some believe that they don't have to do anything once they are pregnant, they embrace laziness during this time which is not suppose to be. Pregnancy is not an ailment or an excuse for neglecting work or chores though heavy and tedious tasks are not advisable for pregnant women. Balanced diet is also a factor to note when carrying a baby. You need to have your diet balanced and nutritious. Foods like sugary foods and drinks should be minimized or not taken at all during this period. The placenta which connects the baby and the mother needs adequate blood, therefore it is only reasonable that you eats foods and fruits which boosts blood during pregnancy. Foods such as banana can be taken frequently. Banana contains potassium that can help in making the muscles good and not be twisted. Snails is also good for pregnant women as it contains calcium which aids good bones. Positions in which pregnant women should be; 1. Always watch your back. Don't stress your backbone when you're pregnant. The backbone is like an aid which support you and your baby. If it's not watched and you stressed it, it can cause a serious complications both for you and your baby. 2. Pregnant women should be cautious of wearing high heels or shoes. Now is not the time to wear such type of shoes as it affects your back bone in a negative manner. Know the type of clothes to wear during pregnancy, don't wear tight clothes always wear free clothes to allow for good breathing and perspiration.  It is always advisable to wear light clothes such as cotton during hot weather. Thick clothes is advisable to wear during the cold seasons. Always make sure that you drink water always to keep you hydrated especially in dry seasons. Water is needed both for you and your unborn baby, endeavor to drink water always. Also it's important not to over walk in the name of doing exercise. You can be stressed out and that's not good. Walk reasonable miles which goes along with what your body can take. Don't overdo it. Remember exercises are done to encourage free mobility of the body. A pregnant woman who do exercise always will always have the needed strength during child delivery. Always check your breasts occasionally too during pregnancy, yes breast examination. Nipples on the breast which doesn't not shoot out from the flesh of the breast will serve as a problem for the born child since he won't be able to suck the nipple to derive milk from it. That's why it is often advised in the hospital to always stretch the nipple always so that it can shoot out from the breast. This will enable the new born to place his mouth on it to suck. Some nipples are always flat with the breast and not pointed out. This can cause problem when the baby can't place his mouth on it. Cotton wool can also be used to clean the nipple as part of body hygiene. A pregnant women should take care of her bodies and be neat, don't stress yourself out. Always visit the hospital for check ups and for information you might find useful for you too. Remember what you eat during pregnancy also goes to your unborn baby too. Eat quality and good foods. Sometimes it's not about the quantity but the quality. Stay safe.

Qualities of a Godly leader In this godless generation, we have often felt the need to employ Christian leaders in the various positions in Government. A Christian politician who will do and ensure the will of God and make people happy. David was an example of a letter after God's own heart. He lead the people to God and God blessed his reign. The fact is that people always enjoy the rule of a godly leader. He knows what to do and when to do it. He is not corrupt as many leaders we have today. Leaders are expected to serve the people and make sure they lived up to their responsibilities such as taking care of the citizens, providing basic amenities and infrastructures and so on. Someone that wants to be become a leader must be ready to serve. He must be able to develop leadership ability, A person shying from leadership roles cannot be developed for any leadership roles, you must be courageous and brave. A leader is always brave, he don't get chickened out when there are challenges, he stands his ground and make meaningful decisions that are timely. A Christian leaders or politician is expected to do the will of God always. There are some qualities that a Christian leader should exhibit daily. 1. Loyalty to God even in the face of challenges. Sometimes leaders are often confused whether to listen to the people or God. As a Christian leader it is expected to be loyal to God, your allegiance to only God and God alone. Sometimes you are pressurized to do what God didn't want you to do. Remember the ordeal of Moses with the people of Isreal. You must be loyal to God always. Remember Daniel and his three friends, despite the education given to them in a foreign land, they didn't rebel or become disloyal to God, they held to God irrespective of their quality of education. 2. Faithfulness in handling people and resources under him or her. A godly leader is a man of good management who is not corrupt. He is faithful in handling money and resources. Many of our so called leaders have disappointed people in this aspect. They go to the office for the purpose of promoting their self interest. They will assume office and squandered the money meant for the masses. A Christian leader must be like Joshua and Samuel who are transparent in their rule. A person should not be given power if he cannot be faithful. Infact faithfulness is tested from little things. A person who cannot be trusted with a little thing cannot be trusted with much. 3. Prayerfulness. Remember Daniel and his three friends. The four of them prayed together in agreement, they were very prayerful. A Christian leader must be able to build his altar of prayer. Oppositions and persecution will come from many ends, those of which you are aware and those without your knowledge. You must be ready to pray ceaselessly. Prayer is needed if you want to be successful in your rule. Many have abandoned their prayer altar which has affected them negatively. A Christian leader should have confidence in the word of God. This will make you to be more intelligent than your other counterparts. You must be able to stand for God wherever you are. A Christian leader is someone who has focus and determination. He can't just run government without specific goals and focus. Daniel and his friends knew what they were doing, they are serious minded. They were never discouraged, even with the discomfort they experienced.

Hannah, an examplary woman Hannah is a woman of faith, who still believe God could turn her situation around for good. She was married to a man called Elkanah for many years before she eventually gave birth to Samuel. During the time of her barreness, Elkanah always took his family to Shiloh to worship every year (Exodus 23:14-19). Peninnah who was the second wife of their husband always scorn and make mockery of Hannah because she has no child, as people always mock barren women nowadays too. Yet Elkanah loves Hannah the most and won't let anything to depress or make her down. Hannah will always went to the temple and pray to God for a child and eventually God answered her prayer, she beget Samuel who later became a great prophet in Isreal. Some great lessons I learnt from Hannah's life are; 1. Hannah persevered in times of challenges. The Bible told us how peninnah will always mock and tease her older wife Hannah. But yet Hannah knew in her mind that God's purpose for her life will be accomplished either soon or later. She did not become of her barrenness become toxic or file for divorce. She keeps persevering and waiting on God till God answered her prayer. During their annual visit to the Tabernacle, Peninnah always use the opportunity to irritate her rival and make fun of her barrenness. She always look down on her senior wife, all these should hold Hannah down but she didn't bulged or retaliated, she persevere and her perseverance later paid her. 2. She was a faithful woman who kept the vow she made to God about giving her first child back to God. Many of us in this present age do not always keep our vow with God and God always take vow seriously. When some are in some kind of a problem, they will vow to God that they will do something for him if he helped them overcome their challenges. Many times when they triumphed over the challenges, they forget God and the vow they made. Hannah was not like this, she was faithful to her promise to God by dedicating Samuel to God all his life. She was also faithful to her husband because she didn't commit adultery on the excuse of searching for a child as many do today. She is faithful to her God and her husband. This is a lesson for many of us today. 3. She is a woman of faith. She trusted God solely for solution to her problems(2 Peter 2:9). Many today will rather go to the devil because they have a problem and along the way compounded more problems for themselves and their families. Hannah solely believe in God. She did not cut corners like other believers today who will go to herbalists and fraudsters who can't solve their problems. She knew that all solutions to life challenges come from God and him alone. She knew that solutions from God is always permanent and valid. She believed totally in God and she was not disappointed. 4. She is a woman of prayer. She paid the price through her persistence in prayer. Whenever we have problems and even if we do not have, prayer is still an indispensable weapon we need as believers. Prayer helps us to communicate with our Lord and creator. Are you passing through some challenges and you haven't prayed about it? This is the time to do so. Our God answered Hannah and is still answering till date. Cast all your burdens before him. Learn from the travails of Hannah and how she was able to overcome it. Your problem is not permanent, it's only temporal and will pass away with time. Trust and believe it in God, don't cut corners. It doesn't always worth it in the long run.

What Heaven look like and what we are expected to do Making heaven is the ultimate goal of all christians. Making heaven is our reward for living a godly life even in this generation. Even though some are  ignorant to assume that death is the final and the end of a man, but the bible made us to understand that death is just a pathway to eternity, eternity in hell or heaven. Even unbelievers desire heaven too because it's a place of comfort which is designed by God himself, the paradise. How heaven is cannot be described by any mortal. The glories that abound in it is beyond the human comprehension, we can only imagine how heaven is and of course we can have a glimpse of what heaven looks like from the bible. The bible made us to understand that there will be no darkness in heaven because God himself is our light. God himself will give light there, hence there will be no need for sun, lamp or any form of light. We are going to live forever because we have been transformed to his image, in his likeness. We will become immortals and live together with God. There will not be any reason to be afflicted again, there will no longer be tears, sorrows, pain, griefs or death or any evil whatsoever. The enjoyment in heaven surpassed in indescribable ways to what we called enjoyment here on earth. The Earth is full of sorrows and suffering, happiness is not guaranteed, it's not even permanent. It's only in heaven that happiness is permanent. That's why heaven is a must for us. Hell is a no no for me and you. **How to enjoy the grace of reigning with Christ forever** 1. **Be committed to the service of God** Of course you would not want to serve devil if you are going to heaven. Be a committed servant of God. You must be busy with the things of God, you can't be in the business with God and lose. God will always recompense you in every good way you can ever imagine. Many of us are not always found in service to God, we are often after our own heart desires. We don't have time to serve God. Many do select their job at the expense of the work of God. Some people value their own work to the work of God. 2. **Be faithful to your confession about Jesus**. When you confess Jesus as your Lord and savior, do you know what it means and do you know you have to be faithful to your confession. After confessing Christ, the Christian journey is not always smooth, infact it's always rough but we must hold our stand in Christ and be faithful to him. Remember God said it is the people who have surrendered their lives totally to Jesus and have been faithful to him and obey his commandments that will be rewarded with heaven(John 11:25). 3. **Never love the things of this world** If you love the things of the world then you have shifted your love from God. You must set up your love on eternal things because the things of the world is ephemeral, don't be obsessive of this worldly things. Many love money more than God, they value their flashy cars to the things of the spirit. Don't be lured by the devil's tactics. He is always watching us to make us fall in our weakest moment but the grace of God is more sufficient for us. 4. **Tell others about the kingdom of God**. You can't call yourself a Christian and you are not preaching the gospel of Christ. That's God's business for you here on earth, to make his name known in every nooks and crannies of the earth. Don't be ashamed to speak the gospel so that God will not be ashamed of you too in the last day. You can preach Christ in your place of work, in your class and in your neighborhood. Bring many people to the knowledge of Christ, groom them to know who Christ is and lead them to the way of the Lord. You can even preach online. All these are worthy in the sight of the Lord and he will duly reward you Remember Heaven is real where we will be happy always, where we will be praising God every moment without being tired. We will reign with him forever, you won't want to miss it, isn't it?.

Monogamy is better than polygamy Back then in my secondary school, we have an argumentative essay on the topic, which is better, the monogamous family or the polygamous family?". Of course I was asked to support the motion that states monogamous family is better than polygamous family. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ **Monogamous family is better than polygamous family.** Good morning my principal, My panel of judges, My accurate time keeper, My co-debaters and; My fellow students. My name is Samuel and I want to support the motion which says "Monogamous family is better than polygamous family". Firstly, family can be defined as a relationship often related by blood which consists of father, mother and their children. Monogamous family is a family with a man and a woman and with their children if there are. While polygamy consists of a man with more than one wife. Monogamy is better than polygamous family in many ways. First, A Monogamous family has a higher percentage of having peace and tranquility than the polygamous setting. Polygamous family is often associated with strife everyday either among the wives or among the children. It's in the polygamous family you hear noise and fights every nights over who should sleep with their husband😁. A monogamous family is not like this because it is only one women. Since each of the wives will always want the approval and validation of their husband, inevitably there will be perpetual quarrels and conflicts. A polygamous family is not always peaceful. Another point to considered in the motion is that monogamists always tend to take care of their family more than the polygamists. A man from monogamous family will have enough resources and money needed to take care of his family because of the lesser number. A man from polygamous family will always find it difficult to manage his family if he is not rich, he will always work harder and harder till he become useless and cannot work again. But who really cares? He was the one that implicated himself. A monogamist is always happy and care for his family members because there's no strife amidst them, everybody love one another without any element of hate. Monogamous family is better also in religious settings especially among the christians. A polygamist man especially in the Baptist denomination cannot hold any important office in the church because God commanded monogamy and not polygamy. Even though this might not be applicable to all religion. Monogamists always have that love and accord which makes them one. There are no fights among the siblings as to which is greater because they are from the same mother. Also monogamous family is better because it helps in population control. A polygamous family has a higher chance at breeding more children than that of monogamous setting which can ultimately cause increase in the population of the country. Now the increase in the population is not problem, what becomes problem is when the population exceeds the available number of resources in the country, we all know the implications right? There will be famine, unemployment and so on, owning to too much polygamous families. Most of the touts and miscreants we see in the  society today came from polygamous family. Because of the fact that they are not well taken care of by their parents due to some reasons. They become thugs who disturb the public peace in the society. Some of them have become bad eggs due to neglect by the families they can e from. This is often rare in monogamous family. There's love shared among the family members, none is placed above the other. I hope that with these few points of mine, I have been able to convince you and not to confuse you that monogamous family is the best. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ I was popular in school because of my love for debates and because of my good oratory skills. Thanks

Lessons to learn from Abraham, the father of faith Sometimes when God asked us to do something, it's always feel like doing what God asked us to do is a crazy thing because it surpassed our senses. Such is what happened to Abraham with God when God asked him to sacrifice his only son Isaac to him as a sacrifice. You wondered why God will do that, even though Abraham didn't bulge and it was counted to him as faith. When we seek for the blessings of Abraham, are we also operating in the same realm as he did. The bible made us to understand that without faith, no one can please God. The story of Abraham with his son Isaac has always rather been an adventure fill with many spiritual lessons christians need nowadays. Some people disobey God today because what he asked them to do surpassed to their senses and they thought it was nonsense, like how Jesus asked some people at the wedding to pour water into the jar of wine and serve it around like wine. It takes some level of spiritual reasoning to operate in the spiritual realm. God is not an author of confusion, he asked that Isaac be sacrificed not because he wants to but because he wanted to test the faith of Abraham. Isaac was the most precious gift to Abraham not anything else. At that time, Isaac was the only son of his father and that's automatically an heir to the inheritance. This is also a lesson to us, are you withholding that that seems precious to you even if God asked you to sacrifice it for him. Many of us love our money more than God, when God asked us to help the poor or pay our tithe, we are often stingy with our money saying we worked hard for it, really? Before God bless you with money, he will test you first to prove your loyalty and maturity in handling the wealth. Many of us have failed God's test often and often. Abraham walked silently with Isaac even though the odds are all against him. Isaac even as little as he was then had to asked his father some mind blowing questions, he queried his father about the animal to be used for sacrifice since there is firewood already. What did Abraham said, he said "God will provide". That's a statement of hope. God loves it when we surrendered ourselves as weak creatures before him, not banking on our strength but his. Hope is a great virtue we all need to have as christians. Sometimes life just bring us some challenges and affliction but we should always have our hope in God that all will be well for us. Many people run away from God when they are in problems instead of running to God. God is still capable yesterday, today and forever. You just have to build your relationship with him, let him be the Lord and Savior of your life. Abraham is a father of faith, he was called God's friend because he understand God and vice versa. Even when the holy spirit has not been promised, Abraham took his stand with God, he didn't let anything or anyone hold him down. He demonstrated his great faith in many incredible ways. He left his father land even when there's no specific place he was going, he was just moving in accordance to God's instructions. Imagine someone tell you to get away from your father's land and just be going to a place which was not described to you, won't you be hesitant in the first place, will you even go? Abraham had great faith in God that he didn't murmur when God asked him to do the impossible. Cast all your fears in God, believe him even if it's hard for you to do so. God is more knowledgeable than us in words that cannot be imagined or described. He is the one that already ordained our path even before we were born. God is God, he won't disappoint you. Just trust him with all your heart. Peace.

Some desirable Yoruba cultures. Sometimes ago I sit myself down, wondered why there are so much disorder and chaos in our land today. I realized many reasons for that one of which is the total abandonment of our culture and beliefs for the western culture. Those some of the western cultures are good but not all. Infact the disadvantages clearly outweigh the advantages. Our cultural beliefs have been neglected while we purse others cultures. In Yoruba land, Yoruba tribe is one of the most three major tribes we have in Nigeria. We have some beautiful cultures and beliefs we hold in great esteem some long time ago, unfortunately people don't see those as the way of life anymore. Infact people nowadays have a high disregard for it that they may even call you a slowpoke and old-fashioned individual if you still believe in the culture. We have great cultures and beliefs that I will be mentioning some of them here. 1. Boys showing respect to Elders through prostrating. Many young men in this age simply lack respect and manners. Infact the mode of greetings of small boys nowadays leave a kind of question mark. Some people will just shake or bow little for their parents and elders when greeting them. This is not our culture. A child is always expected to prostrate for people who are clearly more aged than him. Prostrating will build humility and a heart of respect in the child, that's the significance. But nowadays people don't respect elders anymore. I was reading a post from Facebook some days back where it was being said that people don't prostrate to greet their parents again, they just remove their earpiece 😁 to greet. That's funny but it's also disheartening. 2. Girls are expected to kneel down to greet. Nowadays how many women can kneel down to greet their husbands. No wonder some pompous women who have no regards for their husbands don't always stay long in marriage. Girls in the olden days are always been groomed right from their infancy. Girls are always expected to kneel down for their parents and elders to show their maximum respect. It's often believed that they will continue the act once they get to their husbands house. But nowadays girls will just be standing greeting their parents which should not be so. 3. Chastity as a gift and worth. In Yoruba land, people always praise women who keeps their self till marriage. They considered marriage a sacred union which should be pure. Women who didn't not keep themselves pure till marriage are always disgraced and not valued after the wedding night. Such disgrace is not meant for the woman alone, her family will also share in the disgrace. That's why women are often protected with stringent laws against sexual harassment from bullies especially when they are not married. Rapist are always given severe punishment such as death. Because it's believed that a woman once raped has lost her honour. This culture is significant because it helps to prevent unwanted pregnancies, it can also prevent the spread of sexually transmitted diseases which has been rampant today. All these cultures may be old fashioned but they surely have their significance. Yoruba has a wealth of cultures as well as other tribes in Nigeria such as the Igbos too. The listed culture in this article are just some out of our beautiful esteemed beliefs and cultures in Yoruba land. Hope you will find time to check more I them from the internet. Thanks

Unemployment in Nigeria, the way forward. Even though all countries have a problem of unemployment, the degree of this phenomenon differs in levels across many countries of the world. Nigeria because of being in its developing state has more unemployment level in the country. Many successful graduates find it hard to secure jobs after completing school why some who are in some way lucky are underemployed. Before pressing further, Unemployment can be defined as the state of not finding any job to do. This of course relates to able bodied and people who are willing to work. Unemployment is a cankerworm that has eaten deep into our economic system thereby making it a perforated one. Many that went to school for the purpose of getting good jobs to take care of themselves are disappointed.  You see thousands of people clamouring for jobs that won't serve more than one hundred people. This is to show how serious the situation of unemployment is in here.  Causes of unemployment includes but not limited to the following; 1. Poor number of Industries and Companies. This constitute in many ways to the degree of unemployment in the country. Poor shortage of companies and industries where people could be employed also contribute to this problem. In a situation whereby the existing and functional industries in the country cannot accept even half of the graduates who are willing to work for employment, is that not a problem? Some companies have been liquidated thereby sending their workers back to the labor market to start all over again from square one. 2. Another cause of unemployment is persistent elan for white collars jobs at the expense of vocational and technical jobs which also serves as a good alternative. All what some people want is white collar jobs, so they wait for it for many years hoping they will find one soon. Graduates from the University always have a wrong notion of vocational jobs as jobs reserved for those who didn't go to universities. They always assume going for technical jobs will ridicule them. Unfortunately not all of us can work at the office, there needs to be a striking balance between people being an employee working in an office and being self employed and working under no one. Unfortunately everyone wants to be working under somebody else thereby creating a sort of disequilibrium. 3. Not having any monetary skills. A person will only be employed if he is valuable and have the necessary skills needed. An illiterate with no vocational skills or life skills whatsoever will find it very difficult to be employed. People are been employed because the employers see the required value and skills needed for the job in the employees. Effects of unemployment. ,1. Bad social vices such as arm robbery, kidnapping etc. Of course an idle hand is the devil's workshop. An unemployed person who have seeked for jobs in the legal way will eventually resort to engaging in bad vices to earn him some money. Such people will start robbing people of their money and other valuables, kidnapping people and asking for ransom before the victims can be released and so on. Many if these unemployed graduates engage in cyber crimes since no legal jobs are coming their way. Many antisocial vices we have in the society today can be reduced drastically if employment were to be introduced as a way of curbing such menace. 2. Poor Economy Growth A country with high unemployment margin will always try to keep their economy growing, it's always poor. Unemployment will always contribute to the poverty rate among the citizens and all these serves as a stumbling blocks to a good economy. When people have jobs to do, they will be able to buy goods and services and the economy will move forward and there will be a good standard of living. 3. Unemployment will also cause unrest in the society. Most of the thugs always employed by some political leaders to cause mayhem and disturbance in the society are the unemployed youths in the country. These are the type of people that are employed to cause political unrest in the society. If they are all employed and already working, would they be employed as thugs and touts again? It's only an unemployed youth you see in the street disturbing public peace here and there. What are some of the solutions to unemployment in Nigeria? 1. There can be more employment if the government creates more jobs in the country. When there is increase in the number of companies and industries, jobs will also increase more for people to do. Government and some private individuals will do well if more companies and industries are created to provide more jobs for the people. Through this, unemployment will be reduced. 2. Introduction of Empowerment Schemes and programmes. Government can organize vocational training to empower people who have interest in vocational jobs. This will in turn reduce unemployment rate. Government should try to provide incentives to self employed people like those working in the agricultural sector. They can be given money to establish their agricultural or any vocational business they are in to. Some of these people have the needed skills to start making money but capital is their problem, government can work in this capacity to provide financial help to such people. Programmes about skill acquisitions should also be organized to empower more people to be valuable so that they can have something to do that will bring them money. 3. Sometimes reduction in the population rate can also serves as a good measure of curbing unemployment in the society. Government should try to adopt policies that will help at reducing the high population rate. Sometimes people are just too much in the country for the present jobs available.  All these could be employed to reduce unemployment in the society. This is just concise and briefed, written solely on personal thoughts. The causes, effects and solutions to unemployment go a long way than what is explained here. Thanks

Why Students fail in school; Using Nigeria as a case study. In developing countries like Nigeria, Education or Schooling is still much very desired and put much value on because through education, you are empowered and knowledgeable thus bringing out the best in yourself. To succeed and to be relevant in this part of the world, you must be educated. Because of the importance of Education in Nigeria and the factors surrounding it such as costs and so on. Many cannot afford education thereby making education a sort of commodity that can only be purchased by the rich and the average people. Though efforts were put into getting free education for the poor in Nigeria but such freebie only ends once you complete high school thus leading to half baked education. Thinking through some causes of failure among children in school. I found some causes which actually constitute to why some students fail academically in schools using Nigeria as a case study. 1. Negligence of the parent to help their children academically after school. Sometimes the failure of the child comes mostly from his or her parents. A child who is not getting a helping hand from his parent in his homework is most likely to fail. Teachers in schools are not the only one who contribute to a child's success, the parent also have work to do. Some parents believe that it's the single role of the teacher to make sure their children excel academically without their intervention, they will not find time to help their children or wards in their assignments or homework. This will always have a negative impact in the child's academic performance. Help your children always in their homework after school. If you are illiterate to help them, you can always employ the services of lesson teachers to simply help further your children academically. Trust me children appreciate it when you find time to go through their notes, appreciate them and help them with their homeworks and assignments. That's one way to help students to pass in school and reduce failure. 2. Lack of Textbooks and other reading aids. A school without an adequate library to assist students grasp more knowledge will always lag behind academically. Likewise a student without textbooks and other reading materials will find it difficult to pass during exams. Textbooks are always employed to complement teaching. It's one of the teaching aids. Back then in school, some of our teachers sometimes teach us from the textbooks. Those who didn't have are always sent out of the class by teachers. This is to show the importance of textbooks in learning. For the more smaller children, the drawings from the textbooks might just be the right way for them to learn what was being taught as most of them cannot start reading and understanding from their notes. A good library should also be put to place where students can have access to large materials that can help in their academics. 3. Playfulness and Laziness on the part of the kid. Oh gosh some students are so lazy, they won't do their assignments neither will they concentrate in class, all they always want to do is to play and play. They always forget why they are in schools. Such students will not do their homework or assignments when given. A serious student sometimes find it hard to pass talk less of the unserious one. Even though it's not that you read all day long and not play but you should be able to strike the balance between the two. Hard play will often make students to forget what they have been taught in school. This will leave them blank and of course affect them negatively. More academics less play. 4. Frequent Absence from School A student who always skip classes has a higher chance at failing than those who are always present and punctual in school. Frequent absence from school might emanate from many circumstances. Sometimes a child is absent from school today because he or she have not pay his or her school fees because in places like Nigeria, if you didn't pay for tuition fees you won't be allowed to enter the class until you pay. Most times most of the children owing money are always sent home back to their parents. This will leave a negative impact on the child's performance because he will always miss classes and important lessons from the teacher. Sometimes a child's absence may also be as a result of his poor health. All these things should be considered and taken care of. 5. The all-round nature of schools. Trust me no matter how you teach some students certain subjects like mathematics they won't pass. Every student always have a hidden ability which sometimes does not correspond to what is being taught in schools. Someone who hates maths but have a flair for arts will always been thought of by many as unintelligent student or sort of. I wondered if knowing maths guarantee intelligence sometimes, but unfortunately schools do overlook our distinct abilities and areas of interest. All what those teachers want is just solving problems and other things which may not really suit others. Not all of us find maths interesting like @Jeaneth Methods of teaching employed sometimes mar some children's assimilation. Some children learn best through visual mode of teaching, some learn in audio-visual mode. All these should be taken care of in schools. I don't know if @GooseBumps also experienced any of these while schooling in Nigeria These are some of the causes of failure in schools. Education is costly but ignorance is more costly. Remember the benefits of being educated cannot be over emphasized. If you don't have a sound education make sure you give your children one. They are the future.

Dogs and their undying loyalty Dogs have always been a pet and animal people always love to keep in their respective homes. They are not wild in nature, a reason for their being domesticated by a lot of people. In this part of the world, we have often heard about many folktakes surrounding the domestication of dogs by humans. Some said dogs was chased out of the animal kingdom because it was a betrayer, it was being said that dog will find a way to trick animals into the hunter's grab thus exchanging animals  with cooked bones made by the hunter to the dog all because dogs like chewing bones and they can get it by all means even if it means betraying some of their own. So all these folktakes hinged to the fact that dogs are animals that has always like to be in man's custody and to go with him wherever its owner goes. People keep dogs obviously for many and diverse reasons thus giving way to letting us know how important and advantageous dogs are to human beings. I categorized the advantages into two; 1. The Old Age Advantages 2. The Modern Advantages. 1. In the olden days most especially among the Yoruba tribes, dogs has always been a helpful animal in hunting and sometimes killing other small animals for its owner (the hunter). Virtually all hunting expedition in the olden days even up to this day can't be said to be meaningful if the dog is not present too. It is often regarded as the hunter's friend. A dog can go with its owner for many days in the forest searching for bush meats without grumbling or complaining. Dogs are very useful during hunting, they have sharp eyes and ears which helps to detect animals movement easily. A dog once it catch a glimpse of any animal will run into the same direction thereby giving its owner an accurate direction on "which way to go" Dogs are often referred by the Yoruba tribes as the Animal of "The god of iron". This is a god that is popular and worshipped among the Yoruba and other black people. So dog as a special animal in the olden days is usually used as a form of sacrifice or appeasement to the god when the need arise. Dogs have always been useful since time immemorial. 2. Now the advantages of dogs in the modern day quite outweigh that of the ancient age. People now keep dogs in their house for security reasons. Dogs helps in scaring thieves or any intruder through their barking continuously. Sometimes it might bite the intruder in order to protect its owner by all means. Dogs are very useful in security purposes. No other animal has been quite functional in security purposes like dogs. Dogs also provide a source of comfort and help to reduce the depression from their owner. Keeping dogs helps some of us to fight depression. Dogs are always a loving animal. Sometimes people keep dogs as a companion, their intimate friend who they can just live with each other. Taking care of dogs and seeing them wagging their tails make us feel happy and be less depressed. Dogs are always happy too if they were well taken care of. That's why a happy dog will often look its owner's face and wiggle around him, it's to show that the dog is been happy around its owner. It's also a way of showing their appreciation. Funny right? Even as they like to share in your happiness, they are also ready to share in their owners unhappiness. A research shows that a dog will rather stay with its owner if he is unhappy and sat on the ground crying. It can sometimes see how unhappy its owner is and it thinks the best way to soothe him is to stay by his side. That's why dogs also find it difficult to leave their owner's graves peradventure the owner die. This is to prove dogs undying loyalty to man. Dogs are also helpful in combat situations. They help police also in tracking down criminals when searching for them. They sniff them out and help the police in catching criminals. Dogs are also sent out during wars to detect bombs and land mines. They are often specially trained by army and police to help them all in their different missions. The importance of keeping dogs cannot be overemphasized. They are loyal pet who can do anything to make to make their owners happy and they are always happy when you are happy. Try to keep a dog at home today if you don't have any dog with you.

Travails of the masses under the Nigeria Government It's always sad when leaders who you think are suppose to watch out for the masses doesn't do that but watch only for themselves and their families. I have always seen corrupt leaders in the web of corruption and money laundering. They took out money meant for taking care of the masses to abroad to save it for themselves and their family thereby creating a kind of money drainage in the country. So sad these political leaders look at people and shun them immediately they are in the position of power. The only time people have power to vote the people of their choice into power is during election, but it's so equally sad that vote buying is very rampant in Nigeria. All these leaders have no atom of empathy for their people, all they want is more power. You see in difficult times like this period, it is the masses that suffers the most, when the basic needs of man such as food has become a 'gold' only affordable to the wealthy. Of course it doesn't affect the politicians, it is the masses that suffers most all these things. Right now, many things have gone high in price with the government doing absolutely nothing to curb the situation. You see them riding exotic cars all around without doing anything substancial during their tenure in their office of power. Most of them don't know that power is given to serve others, it is given because with power comes different responsibilities which must be done. You see them shining radiantly with people's money while the people looks haggard because there's nothing for them to eat. Some private individuals in philanthropic acts has impacted more lives than the government herself. This government don't really care at all. They have always known to silence or even kill anyone who oppose them. Countless of many people who have being silenced through bribe or by killing them because they were once speaking against them. You all remembered Dele Giwa the journalist who was killed some years ago by a letter bomb, not to talk of those that are not mentioned. Government appointments are always shared between themselves, qualified people who should be appointed to the posts of power will not be picked thus reflecting how corruption has eaten deep into our governmental systems. Imagine a person who has no knowledge of what the office entails is been given the position mainly because of connections. You can only see the humble side of those politicians during campaign and election period, they will show their angelic side to the masses because they wants their votes. Once they assumed power they forget all those who help them gets to power, all the electoral promises made won't be fulfilled by them. They will rather be postponing what should have been done urgently. There's no continuation in development at all, a newly elected leader won't in any way develop what has been started by the previous government, they will always want to embark on futile projects that won't be completed by them too till they leave the office thereby wasting resources on half baked projects. Youths who should be leaders of tomorrow  are employed to serve as thugs for all these bloody politicians to cause mayhem in the society. They are always glad to employ jobless youths for their selfish advantage. They won't create jobs for the youths who are unemployed but are always ready to use them during elections to cause troubles. They will keep their sons and daughters abroad during elections while they use the gullible youths for their own interests. Are we to also talk about how these people keeps looting money to build private universities for themselves which the poor can't of course have access to such schools. Public Universities which is the hope of the poor and average nigerians are not maintained or developed to the modern time taste. What about the palliatives hoarded by these miscreants that was discovered by people some couple of weeks ago. Imagine food that are meant to be distributed and shared been kept by some evil leaders with no apparent reasons. We must wake up against oppression by these heartless government. Say no to government brutality. The power is with the people not the government. Together we stand, united we fall. Nigeria shall be great again.

Gender Male are suffering immensely In contemporary times, I have looked at how men suffered in the hands of women. I have come to learn some hardcore truths which of course might not be accepted by most women, but if course who cares?😊. I learnt that more than seventy percent of men are controlled by women either consciously or unconsciously. Sometimes we say we are in a man's world because man has always been the head, but is that true? I don't believe that a bit. I will be discussing on some of the ways men are really suffering while the society is just looking away. 1. I have always said this and will continue, it might take a lifetime for a very poor man to see love, why? Because women don't want to be associated with someone who is poor, like poverty is made for some gender. Now let's take it the other way round, a poor lady will not find it difficult to marry especially if she is pretty but is it the same for the men. Men are often desired based on their pocket value, based on their materiality... and trust me women has that intrinsic talent, they will have scanned a potential suitor or boyfriend and they know their net worth already. Men if you are not rich enough are considered worthless, women will always try to replace them at any slight second a better alternative comes by. 2. Even though we are different physiologically which ultimately determine our diverse strength, but does that mean that men don't have feelings too. Men are always expected to do the heavy work regardless of their health, though I don't find any fault with this, but I find fault in it when you started making it out because of your own self interest. If you are always expecting your man to do everything without you offering any help, you are not been helpful and understanding. Some women use the male strength and ego to satisfy their desires, something they can do themselves. I could vividly remember when I was almost electrocuted by electricity when we have a light problem in our hostel sometimes ago, can you believe some ladies were using me to laugh. I learnt from that day that I can't be used again to satisfy  all these female gender at my own detriment. 3. In the aspect of family, who works harder most, is it not the man, he is the one expected to pay for the bills, he is the one to pay for the school fees of the children and is also expected of him to bring food to the table. But is the love for the father always shown to be equal as the amount of his sacrifices? Many fathers today are not loved by their children just because their mother didn't let them be. It's this same man that will work to care and provide for the family but their wives and most especially the children don't really appreciate him in a way that will be happy. They always justify their act on the basis that it's the responsibility of him that is to be done. You always imagine why mother's day are always celebrated more than the father's day. Just because the wife is at home, she has craftily deceived the children into believing that she is the one providing it all when in reality, she is not doing anything. 4. Women since inception are always been the prize, I always amazed by the women gender, most of them don't really do anything yet they are the prize desperately been seeking for by men, by the superior power. A man will be thinking of working hard and having enough money to impress a girl, the girl will be thinking of having more make ups and clothes to increase their worth and definitely to attract the highest bidder (the richest man). Men have always been the one to suffer to keep a relationship going with a pretty girl. I find it amusing, maybe that's why I'm still single. 5. Ladies are always known to be more favored than men. There is a fact that most people don't take notice of but it speaks volumes about who we are. Assuming you are a father and you have a boy and a girl, now both of them are crying because they want something from you, as in crying so hard, who will you attend to first, of course the baby girl because you probably think that "well, boys have to be crying sometimes". So you take care of the needs of the little damsel first while leaving the boy behind. Let's look from another scenario, a gorgeous good looking lady who's seeking for appointment in a company with another male will always have the higher chance of being employed than the other male. Why because she is beautiful and probably have something to offer to the manager, you understand me now. You know of course the man might be very intelligent and qualified for the job but he has been tossed behind. Everyone believe that a lady has been cheated on if she was ever found crying, why men who are found crying are always seen as a weak person. My lessons I have learnt for myself. Never gather wealth or work hard because of a girl. If you are doing that, I think you are a failure yourself. Think of your mummy and sisters who needs your help. And if you are a man that do make fun of your fellow men whenever you are with your girlfriend, keep on at it. The day of reckoning is coming. Because at a point in your life, you will come to understand that most ladies love you because of what you are providing. Someone who can love you wholeheartedly whether you are rich or poor is only your mother, but have you not abandoned her. You know all these things happen because of the society stereotypes and what we have all come to believe by the society. But is this right? Share your thoughts in the comment box.

Brace up, life is not too long If you are asked to write about death, what will you write about? Will it be about some of our loved ones or some that are close to us that have died? You ask some rhetorical questions like why do we have to die, why can't we live on, why is life full of sorrows? Yet no matter how these questions are always been asked, it always seems to be that no one can provide an all round answers to them. People still die everyday, every hours and minutes. Every living beings or things on earth will face death eventually, maybe that's the ultimate destiny of all living. Death is not relative as it doesn't accrue to one set or tribe of people, death happens to all irrespective of race, color, religion or country. Death is no respecter of anyone, wealthy people are dying same as the poor, no one is exempted. No matter how long one may live, even if you are a centenarian you will still die. Life is beautiful yet temporary. We are often overwhelmed with sorrows and anguish when we lose some of our loved ones, we feel loneliness and sadness, you wondered if life is meaningful after all. If it's possible, we want to live forever with our loved ones around us and to become immortal. Is there any purpose in death? "It is better to go to a home where there is mourning than to one where there is a party, because the living should always remind themselves that death is waiting for us all" Ecclesiastes 7:2. Death helps us to realize how short life is and how we should live life accordingly. Permit me to say, the fear of death has make many people live in the way they should. Trust me people will become reckless and live anyhow if there's nothing like death, there will be no definite purpose and plans and life without a purpose is not worth living Death reminds us that our time is short and we have to do something worthwhile before we are long gone. We die obviously because that's how we have been designed, because that's how everything is meant to be, because life itself is ephemeral. Death helps us to live with this truth and only the wise will be prepared for it. But is death the end of life or a means to another life, life after death. This belief is very much controversial as many atheists does not believe in life after death but the facts are there to prove it. We have heard of people who died and came back to life to share their testimonies of another life form in heaven. I was surfing through the internet some years ago and I came across the story of some Siberian Scientists who might have dung deep a hole that leads to where they reportedly called the hell of the damned because they heard terrifying screams of people for about 17 seconds before they couldn't hear it again, not to talk of the immense heat. This is to show that death is not an end to life, infact it's an avenue to eternity as portrayed by the Bible. That's why christians do find solace in the fact that their dead ones will be unified with them on the last day. It's only wise to brace ourselves for death. A wise man will prepare and put everything in place because he doesn't know when his time will come. Live life in such a way that you will be remembered for good. Life should be planned that's why you see people planning for the last stage of their life while they are still young, you see many people planning and securing the future for their children before they die, so that they don't die and their children have to live in penury. Either way, life is all about planning. Death occurs faster and happen randomly. No one knows who is next. The best way to live life is to acknowledge God and have plans for your life. Everyday day reckons to the day of sleep. Take a decision today, retrace your steps and start living right, we can't immortalize our physical bodies, but we can immortalize our names. Any thoughts on this, share with me.

Love and compassion, great virtues of Life. I wondered if we can all survive if there's lack of love. You see I always take love as a strong virtue. Love brings tranquility, peace and harmony, love conquers all. Have you ever seen a society where there is no love, catastrophes and mayhem will be the order of the day, loving your other fellow human costs you nothing but it can bring you everything. That's why a person who hasn't experienced what love is from people around him can't know how to live life, children in this case can suffer a great misfortune and this can affect their personality in the nearest future. Some people are full of hatred towards their fellow human being over a petty reason. Life is not all about living with grudge and hatred, free your mind, love all people. Hating others wouldn't bring you any significant achievement, it will only hurt you. I wondered how some people kill their fellow human being because of religion, is that love? Loving other people should not be with conditions, love unconditionally. Even Christ loves us while we were still a sinner. The importance of loving others cannot be overemphasized. Love is needed for the continued survival of human race. Desist from holding grudges and malice, you can do better. Some have killed themselves because they felt ignored and detached from the society and from people close to them. Some people don't need your money, all they want is for someone to just love and listen to them, we have much of such people in the society. Another great virtue that makes us "human" is being compassionate and empathic towards others. Life is full of sufferings, yet we are not on the same level. Are you compassionate to your fellow human beings, can you help freely without attaching conditions? Some people are fond of conditioning others to do something before they are helped, some will demand for a cut in the salary of someone they want to help to get a job, while some especially if the applicant is a female will ask for sex before giving out job to them. Is that morally right? Sometimes we are entrusted to a position for the purpose of helping others but it's so sad that many people holding high position of power do not realize this. Let us even come down to a lower level, are you kind even to your neighbor at the next door, what about the people in the street? It's always rewarding and good to help others around us. You might never be able to change the world positively with your actions but you can change a life positively. Don't assume someone is not hungry because he didn't come to beg you at your house, if you know someone is hungry and maybe he is afraid to reach out to you, there's no harm in reaching out to him and help him. This Life is short but some actions are always remembered for generations whether good or bad. I don't know Mother Teresa in her lifetime but all her good works are still alive, that's true living. As from today, start practicing the act of kindness and generosity to others. What you do to others will come back to you or your children. Some children are enjoying the goodwill and generosity of their dead parents because their dead parents once helped others and those people they once helped decided to return the favor to the children of the dead. Help others, be kind and generous, is that not what life is all about, is that not what we have come to do? Looking for an egalitarian society, that's a way to approach it, loving others without one thinking of himself higher than the other. When people decides to employ these great virtues, life will be sweeter and many will be helped, and purpose of life will be found and fulfilled. "I am not sure exactly what Heaven will be like. But I do know that when we die and if comes the time for God to judge us, He will not ask, 'How many good things have you done in your life?' Rather He will ask, 'How much love did you put into what you did?" - Mother Teresa. "If you want others to be happy, practice compassion. If you want to be happy, practice compassion" - Dalai Lama   Want to share your thoughts, do that in the comments box below. Thanks

Cyber crime, a menace in the society. Cyber crime especially "Yahoo Yahoo" has been the order of the day among the youths. Several people has been engaging in fraud, you see them dressing and spending extravagantly. Cyber crime has been a deadly vice employed by people to satisfy their material needs and for so many other reasons. Sometimes people who work by honest means are intimidated by the extravagant lifestyles of these fraudsters. What they do not know is that engaging in fraud will always have its own bad consequences in the future. People do not believe in hard work anymore. They want to engage in activities that brings quick wealth, thereby defrauding other people of their hard earned money. People especially youths find themselves in this dubious act as a result of; 1. Peer pressure: Some of the youths are always been pressurized by their friends about engaging in their fraud activities. They are often amazed by the flaunt of wealth always exhibited by their friends, and they always want to be like them. Many started engaging in fraud because they saw their friends probably in school engage in it and they also start it, often they always forget that it will bring them a bad consequence soon or later. 2. Greed and Covetousness: A person who is a greed and is always discontented with what he has will always find means both legally or illegally to gather more money. This kind of people may be financially okay but because of their greed and insatiable desire for wealth or money will go extra miles to get it. Cyber crime can destroy the image of a country, that's to tell us how bad it is. Many youths engage in this bad business because they are lazy, they can't work hard and straight to make their mark, they want to rob people of their money and spend it uselessly. Many if you ask them will give a stupid excuse as cover up, such like lack of employment and bad economy of the country, but does that now demand for engaging in frauds? Engaging in cyber crimes cannot make you wealthy, it will ruin you. Remember "hushpuppi" and where he is now. Sometimes ago this guy will intimidate others on social media, flaunting his big cars and mansion all gotten from illegal means, where are all those properties now? Have you ever seen some of the richest men around the world gotten their money through cyber crimes, no. Because money stolen or acquired through illegal means don't last. Wealth is not built overnight, but slow and steady. Those of this fraudsters can't rest, always evading police officers who are always ready to curb such menace in the society. Fraud always have effects in the lives of the victims too, many have committed suicide when they realized they have been defrauded of their money. Fingers are not always equal, many has suffered from mental disorder because they cannot just processed the fact that their money is long gone. But you see this fraudsters after robbing these victims go to parties, spend money which is not theirs. So sad. I believe some of the ways fraud can be reduced or erased is to create stringent laws that will work against the fraudsters, I believe once deserving punishment are melted against these fraudsters, their activities will be reduced. Another point to take note of is the issue of unemployment. Some people took fraud as an occupation because they finished school and there was no jobs for them. Government and Private individuals should look into this aspect and work on it. I believe if reasonable jobs are created for graduates in the country, crime generally will reduce and there will be tranquility. Don't engage in cyber crimes. It doesn't pay, it will tarnish your image and your dubious act may come against you in the nearest future when you least expected it. You don't have to keep running and hiding, find something legal to engage on and you can work freely on the streets without anyone intimidating you. There are legal hustle and jobs you could do online without having to defraud people. You can be a freelancer, a writer, and so on. Desist from fraud. Thanks

Lessons from Nigeria National Anthem Our National Anthem speak volumes it's just that we always read or sing it casually without taking notes or studying what it entails. The first line of stanza one calls for all Nigerians to arise and obey the clarion call to serve our father's land. But how many today has done or has been serving their father's land wholeheartedly, how many of us  answer and obey the call when the need be. Some so called youths and citizens has not risen up to protest against police brutality since the protests has started, many think that it doesn't concern them a bit, is that so? Is that the right way to serve our father's land? Have you even in a bit participate in communal service which can help to better the lot of Nigeria as a whole. Sometimes we fight for the upcoming generations not for ourselves. What legacy would you leave behind? The anthem further demand we serve with love and strength and faith. The recent ongoing protest as we all know has been hijacked and the purpose of the protests has be detailed. We are now hearing of people looting properties and goods all over many states. Palliatives were also busted and people have been stealing what they suppose not to steal. Imagine stealing the staff of authority of the king of Lagos. Someone even have the mind to steal a wheelchair, is that not crazy?. Some days ago, the glass of late chief Obafemi Awolowo was taken by all those hoodlums. Before the glass was stolen And after the glasses were stolen Is the labour of our heroes past not in vain now, posterity will judge us all. Even though this protest was straight at the beginning with the defined purpose of bringing a stop to SARS and ending police brutality, we can all see that that purpose doesn't align with the present activities again. Serving Nigeria should be done with utmost faith and love. Our leaders don't really care for us, I bet that they do recite the national pledge but are they fulfilling the pledge. Recently the Oba of Lagos was condemned to have hoarded the palliatives meant for the masses all to himself. We are the one doing ourselves in this country with our leaders contributing to more of our problems. Stories of money laundering and corruption is now what is trending now. Money that should be used for the development of the country, those leaders will embezzle it all without a bit of humanity in them. Stories abound of some warehouses that were busted last week by the people where food and other palliatives meant for the people are just being hoarded there without any significant reasons. What do you expect the people to do, leaving the foodstuffs as they have found it? The national pledge stands upon faithfulness, loyalty and honesty in serving Nigeria but all these leaders are not ready to follow that pledge. They are only there to serve their personal pockets and that of their family members. Leaders are always expected to represent and serve the people who voted them into power but no, they are the ones oppressing us day by day. No wonder some of these leaders and police have seen the bad sides of the angry mobs recently. Sometimes I wondered why Nigeria is bad as this, then I concluded that the problem was caused by both our leaders and the citizens. Qualifed leaders who can make the country better will not be voted in the power. Many are fond of selling their votes during election days for a little amount of money that cannot sustain them a week, who is doing who? Until we decide to be free from the captivity we have bonded ourselves, we will continue to wail and wail away and no plausible solutions will be provided. We are the ones that can make it right, no country or international community can do that for us. Let us stand up to our rights and get rid of all irregularities which constitute to the bad state of our country. Let us strive to build a nation of justice and righteousness. For proper understanding, I have written the Nigeria national anthem below. Take time to read it and do the needful. NATIONAL ANTHEM. Arise o Compatriots Nigeria's call Obey To serve our father land With love and strength and faith The labour of our heroes past Shall never be in vain To serve with heart and might One nation bound in freedom Peace and unity. O God of Creation Direct our noble cause Guide our leaders right Help our youth the truth to know In love and honesty to grow And living just and true Great lofty heights attain To build a nation where peace And justice shall reign. You want to share your thoughts, it's welcome.

Life as a journey No one can say he has seen it all in the course of living. Journeying through life entails getting new experiences daily no matter your age. That's why experience is needed from elders if someone wants to scale through life and of course wants to avoid some mistakes in life. No one can boast of being the greatest teacher in the theory of life. You only have vast knowledge of life if you have so much experience in it. Life is a puzzle no one have solved completely because no one can understand it all. But it's always better to learn from old people of their past experiences and make use of the best of them. Though not all advices should be taken, consider those ones that can help you and make use of them. Life is like a zigzag, it's not predictable. What works for you might not work for other person. Find out time to consider yourself and what can help you achieve your goals. Trust me, self evaluation sometimes helps you to go on the right lane than some "outside" advice. I have compiled some general life tips which works for everyone or let say most. Find time to study them and build on them. 1. Do not look down on others. Don't be carried away by the outward appearances. Try to look inwardly into people and life will be easier. Trust me, you might learn the biggest lesson of life from a kid much younger than you. You don't always have to judge a book by its cover. Be humble and kind to all regardless of their personalities. Don't say someone can't speak a word of relevance because they are illiterate. That's absurd, remember experience sometimes supercede academic knowledge. Don't treat others like a piece of trash, you might just need their help someday. I have been taught some important lessons of life from strangers, people you might not want to stand with. 2. Don't despise the days of your little beginning. Not all have the opportunity to start big and large. Don't be intimidated by people who started big around you, remember that slow and steady wins the race. In the journey of life, most successful people we see today started humbly from a scratch, they are not ashamed of their little beginning, instead they built up on that small start which later escalate into something big. Once you started something maybe business wise or anything, just believe that you can make it thrive into your expectations. Don't despise that little beginning of yours, build it into something big. 3. Don't rely or depend totally on people to succeed. You might have often hear the phrase, "promise and fail". That's people for you, someone who promised to help you will unexpectedly fail you, that's not his problem though, it's yours. Nobody is responsible for your life talk less of your success. You are the one that need to work hard if you want to succeed. In this life, no one really cares about you except your family. It's when you succeed and make it is when people always want to be attached to you. Nobody will associate with someone still struggling. 4. Always persevere and endure. Perseverance is an indispensable virtue we all need to possess. The journey of life is not always smooth and straight. It's only the endured soirit that scale through in life. Life is not always like the bed of roses. You have to be strong and keep moving because everything will eventually fall in the right places for you. Some have committed suicide because they could not come with life challenges. Don't let your story be like that. Remember endurance is always needed to win the race, sometimes that's all that matters in achieving your life goals. 5. Always believe in God. I also wondered how life will be without the intervention of God. We must always believe in our creator in the journey of life. He is the one that designed life and he knows what's the best for us. Trust not in your strength but find solace in the Lord and he will direct your path. Many has gone astray in life because they're not following God's plan for their life. Believe and trust him, life will be great. Life is what? Let me hear what you know about it. Thanks.

Are you suffering from low self-esteem? Are you always feeling inferior, feeling bad about yourself and you think that everyone else is better than you are. Then, you are seriously suffering from low self-esteem or worth. Many people if you ask them suffers deeply from this act and they always feel bad about it. Low self esteem is simply subjecting yourself and placing others above you without any tangible reasons. A person suffering from low self-esteem often lacks self confidence and this goes a long way in affecting a person's personality. Low self-esteem sometimes is often caused by parents and the environment. A child born into a family who are always toxic and are always negligent is likely to suffer from low self-esteem. Since he is not loved or catered for by his parents, he will come to the understanding that he is not meant to be loved, he envies other children who are loved by their parents. This eventually will lead to a personality disorder and low self worth when he grow up. There are so many causes of low self-esteem. Some parents sometimes create an atmosphere of low self worth for their children on the basis of trying to make their children work hard more than their abilities. Some children are suffering from low self-esteem because their parents are not happy with them because of their low academic performance. A parent should be able to encourage not to criticize a child on the basis of his performance. Such criticism can leave a child dejected and loses his worth. I will be talking on some of the signs of a person suffering from low self-esteem. 1. Have you ever been in a gathering where you have to give a say to what's been discussed. Then you possibly think that if you talk and others don't possibly accept or agree with your input, it's either you are wrong or your input is useless then you are suffering from a huge low self-esteem. If you see the reason to remain silent because others don't agree with you, then you have to check yourself. One of the characteristics of a good self worth is the presence of self confidence. If you lack this, you have to improve on yourself. 2. You always wish you are someone else. Many of us have suffered from this and it's a sign of low self-esteem. Stop comparing yourself to others. You are unique and beautifully made. Don't always think someone is better than you and therefore you fantasize all day long wishing you were that person. Stop that act today, it's degrading. Always believe nobody can be as wonderful and unique as you. If you can't place value on yourself, it's always difficult to know how much you worth. Nobody will value you if you don't value yourself first. 3. You are always happy to see the downfall or misfortune of other. When you try to be like someone else and you just can't. You always feel better hearing something unpleasant happened to them. You have to stop that today and take a step to improve your self worth. A person suffering from low self-esteem will always feel depressed and dejected, at the climax, such person can commit suicide anytime. They always restrain themselves from speaking in the public because they see others opinions more relevant than theirs. This is often associated with introverted individuals. You don't have to shy away from others, nobody will kill you for submitting your opinions. Reach out today to someone suffering from low self-esteem, they are always around us. You might not know what they are passing through but they know. Do that and you might just save a life.
