A cry often symbolize that a child is been born and born alive. That's when the race of life commences, infact it commence right from the womb. Life is but a race and a journey, either consciously or not, everybody has their own aspirations and goals ahead of them. Sometimes your parents set out your life goals even before you come of age. I wondered if there can be life void of competition or rivalry.
Buddhist worshippers believe that to be truly happy in life, you have to abstain from competitions and struggles in the world, that's why you see Buddhist monks in their temples meditating solemnly far away from the hustle and bustle of the far away world. Life is but a race, you have to gear up yourself not to be left behind. Infact most of our lives is been influenced by the society we live in. The society we live in expect people to graduate from school at a particular age, same for marriage and all other life events.
A person who decides not to follow the dictates of the society is seen as a psychopath. As an individual living in a society, it is always difficult to live in contradictions to the norms and values of the society. It is always difficult to live the way you want to. Societal expectations will always confine you to a corner. Many people cannot stand up for what they believe because they thought the society will stand up against them. Right from the inception, many of us have always been driven by people around us, we have always been conformed to the society will for us. Many will see themselves as failure because they completed school "late" by the society expectations and many instances like that.
You don't have to follow the multitude, you don't have to be afraid of what people will say or think about you. If you believe in yourself and you know you are on the right track, don't be hindered by any external factors. Because you are more than thirty years of age you think you can't see the true partner to marry again, no. Dispose that thought and be optimistic. You don't know what tomorrow will bring. Consider some great people who did not allow the society to influence their life.
Consider Abraham Lincoln and how he tried to become the president many times before he finally became one. Many people will have talked to him to give up that the position is not meant for him, did he listen to them? No, and he later succeeded. What about Barack Obama, which was black and was still determined to be the president. Many will have tried to divert him but did he listen to them? No.
Life is but a race, you are expected to be at a stage at a particular age, that's why people will always mocked people who missed it lately. Consider the troubles of a grown man still studying in high school. He will have to face many psychological and emotional distress during his studying. That's how life is, indirectly you are influenced by the society. You have to listen to your parents and get married when they want you too, same can be said about your education too. We struggle to become someone relevant in life, that's why we go to school and study hard, hardly do you know that some are forced to go to school not because they want to. Some are forced to study the course they have no interest for. What about arranged marriage which is often employed to facilitate the interests of both parents of their children only without considering the interests of their children.
Dare to be different in the right manner, you are the one responsible for your life. Don't live to please others but only God because you can't please all. Do what you ought to do not because of others influence but because you are driven by yourself and yourself only.
