How well do you diversify?

Good and a happy brand new day to you all. No doubts, we are happy to have seen yet another day break and as we prepare ourselves ready for today's endeavours, i pray that the good lord will grant us that protection and also grant us our heart desires for a better today in Jesus mighty name we pray Amen!

Jus as it is often said that "today comes before yesterday", so also will our past worries be a thing of the past while we make that all important decision to forge ahead for there are always "some chunck of meat that are left off on the cow's head".

It cannot be argued that as humans, we were created by God's likeness and as such, were given that ultimate right to use the earth to our fill, to be fruitful and of course have in subjection, all creatures, starting from the creeping ones to the flying ones to the ones in the sea and many more of it (Genesis 1:28), what a wonderful prospect that is but alas, one can still argue correctly that we haven't fulfilled that scripturally quoted injunction @ genesis chapter 1 vs 28 above hence I give that call for a wake up from your slumber and begin to right the wrong now that we still have the avalanche of time that would surely remain ever elusive despite its availability as we sole claim.

What then are to be required of us going by the expressions that had been made above and from the scriptural standpoint of view?

Simply put it this way, we are required to stand up to the challenge or the clarion call that are usually served as an obedient call to the loyalty of one's nation especially as it concerns the nation's interest.

Below, are some better ways of understanding how we can at least make use of some of the tools we have in creating a more opportunities of a success if we must keep our heads above water and hold them high.

Cease every opportunity you have

The importance of ceasing every opportunity we have is mainly aimed at increasing our fair chance in the set order of things. This however comes in a situation when we don't feel less concerned as regards taking that bold step in actualizing our priorities. Let's not forget that since we all have our individual's sets of priorities, it becomes rather very important if we set them right in pursuance of the most meaningful of them all and this can be done in the way we approcah any situation as if we have been well acquintted with them for over a long period of time.

Pursue goals that are very much beneficial.

Pursueing goals that are very beneficial usually comes in two ways viz;

1. In the things we already know and have a knowlege/a comparative in.

2. In the things we don't know and don't have any knowlege/a comparative advantage in.

Now, lets take them one after the other starting from the first one being; in the things we already know and a knowlege about.

When we say things we know and at the same time have a knowlege in/about, what we are trying to say or reveal here is/are those things that we know and have a numeric/a comparative advantage in owning to the fact that our years of experience knowing it is but playing that wonderful role of an engagement for us.

Take for example, you walk into an office for an interview section in an engineering field, smiling and feeling so confident from the fact that you know your onion and you have a resounding knowlege in what questions are to be asked given the fact that it was your academic field of study, and with your relaxed mind however, it cannot be argued that success will not elude you as your high level of preparedness reveals to what extent your confidence from the things you know brims. You will surely do well in such an interview section and eventually land the job won't you? Yes you would as I don't want to leave this question in the form of a rethoric one given the fact that it is an assured reality in that you have pursued a goal that seems very beneficial for you.

Then also, let's take another instance when the reverse happens to be the case from the first point when you don't feel confident about a situation you are to be involved in and in a such similar situation where you don't a numeric/a comparative advantage in, what then becomes of you when asked? Obviously, you'd make a mess of the said interview section with your lack of a basic knowlege in the things or questions that are asked. Yes, that is for sure the case but hence such happens, what is expected of one to do here especially as it bothers on not having a resounding knowlege in the things that were asked, is it to just walk away with the feelings that one does not have the knowlege of what was been asked of and then resign oneself to a mere prison of the mindset or is one expected to keep the pursue of those other goals that may yet be beneficial whether or not they are similar to each other? Hmmmn! Your discretion is advised on this regard.

Accept all challenges and be a risk taker not a risk giver

Whether or not we like it, life is but a win win affair and more perfectly competited in all the areas of it we may deem fit and these competitions are seen in far too many ways like in the market places, transportation sector, the production sector, the advertising industries and many more unmentioned ones out there.

What we are to be looking out for here is/are those ways we can remain ever more competitive in the spheres of life especially as it concerns the areas that are mentioned here. The way we try to ensure we get ourselves acquintted with the recent happenings in and out of the economy and our readiness to carry out with those required researches in order to to be able to remain competitive matters a lot if we must stand the test of time.

Imagine you were not well acquinted with a new product that just hit the market and haven done all the beccessary researches on it and you get to find out that such a product would surely do well in the market being yet an unknown one, would you at this point decide to allow it slip through your fingers all in the name of trying to avoiding some risks or won't it be better if required that you take a full advantage of the situation and grab a full hold of it despite the challenges that are involved in undertaking such a huge risks of taking up a product you virtually have little or no idea in given the none availability of time and high rate of competition we have over time?

Well, in as much as no one would dress his bed and another comes in and lays on it, then, it all boils down to the fact that those responsibilities of handling such unknown situation that ever kept presenting themselves to us should be handled with much care and the readiness of the mind should be seen as a notice server and an awareness creator if we must at least be able to gather a morsel.

Learn to build more on what you already know

We all have our different and too many ways of engagement that are seen from the things we know. Hence that remains the case, it becomes very important we understand, increase and work towards the same increase in the horizon of the things we already know and those we don't know for a better future success chances.

In addition to all that, we all for sure know that opportunities are very much big out there but merely leaving ourselves open for the little we know for sure would have a very much negative effects on us and the situation will be very much a bad one if we decide never to think outside the box or better put, outside our comfortzone given the many unutilized opportunities out there and let it be known for sure that the time left is but reduced that's the fact.

Therefor, I implore you take your chances and begin to change that mindset while you set your standards high on the things you'll need to establish more on. Trust me, the situation will be a far reaching and a blessed one at that for you. You must take responsibilty.

Take me for example or better still, i'd like a leaf to be borrowed from me and that is in the areas of making use of the opportunities i've had over time to work out something good for myself. I am a university graduate of the department of economics but instead of sticking to my discipline of study or my academic field of study, I decided to embrace other aspects of life by taking up some automobile course that warrants I became an automobile engineer who now fixes cars even across some of the 36 federating units of our dear country Nigeria.

As you all know of it that I recently travelled down to Asaba one of the 36 federating units of Nigeria on a paid trip via air travel that also included my hotel expense on an invitation to come down and do an automobile job which I did and ever since then, i have been having fun doing my job to an extent that my joy is almost an untold one.

Now you may ask, what helped me overcome my challenges of just sticking only with my academic discipline I have acquired from the training I got while at the university by doing an automobile job? Simply say it was my share quest of ceasing every opportunity that came begging and the decision to think outside the box by leaving my comfort zone as much as learning and understanding the risk taking methodologies and many more driving force i had, while i metamorphosed them into some real defining moment of myself which i'm enjoying till date.

I'll be happy to hear those stand you've taken to build yourself, especially, on both the things you know and those things you don't know while minding the risks that are involved in being the risk taker rather than the risks giver.
