Chewing stick(SIWAK) `Siwak (السواك)` *Botanical name* The siwaak is the Arabic word for the twigs of the Salvadora Persica also known as Arak tree or Peelu tree, and is commonly referred to as miswak in the west. *Description* The siwaak is a natural toothbrush, toothpaste and dental floss. It comes from the Arak which is a small tree that grows up to 3 meters high. Its leaves are small, thick and oval in shape and its smell resembles that of mustard. It grows in hot climates such as Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Egypt and the other Equatorial countries. Its twigs are usually cut to a hand span in length and of medium thickness. When siwaak twigs are not available, twigs from the olive tree or palm leaf stalks are used. *Evidence from the Qur’aan & Sunnah* There are many ahadeeth mentioning the importance and virtues of using the siwaak such as the hadeeth of Ibn Abbass that the Prophet (upon him be salah and salam) said : “I was ordered with the siwaak until I thought that something would be revealed in the Qur’aan in regards to it” [Musnad Ahmad no.2125, Ahmad Shaakir graded the isnaad Saheeh]; however the medical benefits are derived from the hadeeth where Aa’ishah reported that the Prophet (upon him be salah and salam) said “the siwaak is purifying for the mouth and pleasing to the Rabb” [Sunan An-Nasaa’ee no.5, Shaykh Al-Albaani graded it saheeh] *Medical uses* In 1988 a comprehensive survey carried out on several thousand Saudi school children reported that the low incidence of periodontal disease recorded, was linked to the practice of using siwaak for oral hygiene. Among the factors being that Siwaak contains tannin which helps to strengthen the gums. The Wrigley Company carried out a study which was published in the Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry. In the study mints laced with miswak extract were found to be 20 times more effective in killing bacteria in comparison to ordinary mints. After half an hour the mints laced with miswaak extract killed 60% of the bacteria and the ordinary mints killed only 3.6%. This benefit of the siwaak has been confirmed in the journal Oral medicine and Dentistry where Dr. James Turner, of the Faculty of Medicine in the American University of Tennessee said: “The miswaak of the araak tree contains substances which purify and kill microbes, the most important of which are sulphur and sitosterol B (or β-sitosterol), as well as sodium.” Many studies have been carried out on the siwaak attesting to the truth that the Messenger of Allah spoke when he said that the siwaak is purifying for the mouth. The Mouth disease department of Cairo University, the King Saud University, the US National Library of Medical Service and others have documented their findings. However for the sake of brevity we will only mention some of the established benefits of the siwaak: 1.Due to its known antibacterial qualities siwaak is very good for killing bacteria build up in the mouth 2.It’s soft fibres are gentle on the teeth and gums unlike the bristles on brushes and yet they remove the food and stains from the teeth very well. 3.The fact that its bristles are parallel to the handle instead of perpendicular, enables better cleaning between the teeth. 4.Stops bleeding and purifies the gums. 5.Fights gum disease Creates a pleasant smell in the mouth 6.Removes bad breath and odour from the mouth. And fights plaque effectively *Application* The scholars of Islam advise that the siwaak should be used starting from the right side of the mouth in a side to side motion instead of up and down as the latter may harm the gums. It should be used frequently due to the generality of the hadeeth mentioned above. Some of the recommended times are as follows; 1.Before every salah – based on the narration of Aa’ishah who reported that the prophet (upon him be salah and salam) said: “Were it not for the fact that I did not want to make things too hard for my ummah, I would have commanded them to use the siwaak at every time of prayer.” [Bukhaari, 2/299 and Muslim, 1/151]. 2.When entering the house – as reported from Aa’ishah; “When he (upon him be salah and salam) entered his house, the first thing he would do was to use the siwaak.” [Muslim, 1/220]. 3.When getting up from sleep – as reported by Hudhayfah ibn al-Yamaan that when the Prophet (upon him be salah and salam) got up during the night, he would clean his mouth thoroughly with the siwaak. [Bukhaari, 1/98 and Muslim, 1/220] 4.When the taste or smell of the mouth changes – since the siwaak is purifying for the mouth then it should be utilised as and when needed. *Constituents* Siwaak contains many natural chemical compounds considered essential to oral and dental hygiene, including; fluoride, silica, tannic acid, resins, alkaloids (salvadorine), volatile oils (sinigrin), sulfur vitamin C, sodium bicarbonate, chlorides, calcium, benzylisothiocyanate (BIT), and others including salicylic acids, sterols, trimethylamine, saponins and flavenoids.

How to start a lucrative cotton farming in Nigeria Cotton is one of the major cash crops in Nigeria. Its importance has grown over the years with farmers making tons of profits. Although there has been tremendous progress, a huge deficit in supply still needs to be met. Major cotton producing states in Nigeria include Zamfara, Kano, Kaduna, Katsina, Sokoto, Kebbi, Ogun, Ondo, and Oyo. These states have the largest share of production. The economic potentials of this industry are enormous. Hence farmers can take advantage of these opportunities to make wealth. In light of the above, helping you start a lucrative cotton farming business is my focus. Everything you need to know about cotton farming will be revealed here. **Cotton and its Uses** Most people know cotton as a raw material used for textile and garments. However, there are several uses you may not have known of. Several consumer goods are made from cotton. These include coffee filters, for making archival papers, for fish nets and book binding. In addition to these, other uses include cotton oil extracted from cotton seeds. This oil is edible and also used for making cosmetics, pharmaceutical products, margarine and soap among others. It also has fibre content. Cotton seeds are used in making feeds for cattle too. There are several other uses you can derive from cotton. However the most important this is that you will never be out of options of what to do with your cotton produce. **The Cotton Industry and its Capacity to Generate Employment** Being a versatile agricultural produce, its value chain is diverse. Its reach is wide as well. The value chain created by cotton farming gainfully employs both rural and urban populations. Its capacity to lift a diverse segment of the society’s population makes it an investment worth considering. This fact has made the Cotton Development Committee to be established. This federal agency is saddled with the responsibility of coordinating the cotton sector of the economy. The textile industry in Nigeria has witnessed a huge decline in recent years. This has led to the closure of many textile mills. However, thre is a renewed interest in this sector by policy makers. This is good for the cotton economy too. **Requirements for Cotton Farming** As with any venture of worth, cotton farming requires certain things to be in place. The most important requirement is land. This takes up a huge part of expenses (to be discussed later). Having a farmland large enough for commercial farming is necessary. The size of the land is however relative. If manual labour will be used, the land size is normally smaller when compared to mechanized farming. Additional requirements include good seedlings, fertilizer, and pesticides for treating your plants. These are necessary and basic requirements without which you cannot start cotton cultivation. **Cotton farming** The process of cotton farming starts with cultivating your farmland. The good news is that you do not require a very fertile farmland. This is because cotton is very tolerant crop and grows well on poor soils. Hence applying fertilizer would suffice. Silt loam is best for cotton farming. The soil PH value should be 5.5. Ridges have to be made and seeds planted on them. Because cotton grows into shrubs, adequate spacing is necessary. These plants grow up to a meter tall. Wider row spacing from 38 to 40 inch should be adhered to. However narrower ridges can be used with proper space management. 3 seeds should be planted per hole and should be 1 inch deep. A 4 inch spacing between plants/holes is necessary. Crops begin to sprout a week or two after planting. It should be noted that this requires an area with good rainfall. The plants will blossom into shrubs. Cream and pink colored flowers emerge briefly. This gives way to fruit at pollination. The fruits or cotton bolls that emerge will later produce cotton. Before then, you need to weed off your farm. This ensures the cotton plants are given optimal growing conditions. Pest control is also necessary within this period. This is because your crop is likely to be attacked by pest. Proper pest control eliminates pest and limits losses. **Cotton Formation and Harvest** The fruit/boll that emerges after flowering later splits open, exposing the cotton. This is ready for harvest after all the plant bolls are open. The cotton fibre is to dry. This results in a fluffy texture. The next stage involves picking the cotton. This is picked or harvested with the seed and gathered into bales. The cotton ginnery is where it is sent for separation. Here, the fluffy lint is separated from the seeds. These are collected or packed into bales and made ready for the textile or cotton spinning mills. These are essentially the steps you follow in cultivating your cotton crop. **Cost Implications of Cotton Farming** Profit margin is largely determined by cost implications. This becomes a very vital area of business you do not want to overlook. The major cost implications for cotton farming arises from seedlings, pesticides/chemicals and fertilizer. However the largest capital requirement is land. This is where a major part of your expenses will be channeled into. Depending on where the land is located, this can go anywhere from N600,000.00 to N5,000,000.00 per plot. Having a land saves you a lot of cost. Cost of farm inputs pales in comparison to that of obtaining a land. The average cost for cultivating cotton on a hectare of land include the following; labour-N50,000.00, seedlings-N5,000.00, Fertilizer-N30,000.00, agro-chemicals -N20,000.00, tools and implements-N20,000.00. By totaling these expenses, you have N125,000.00. However this can be significantly higher or lower depending on factors like inflation and the exchange rate value. **Profit Potential of Cotton Farming** On average, a hectare of land will yield 2 to 4 tonnes of cotton. Therefore translating this to its cash equivalent, a ton of cotton ranges from N165,000.00 to N180,000.00. Using the N180,000.00 benchmark and multiplying by the total yield (2 to 4 tonnes per hectare) you obtain N360,000.00 to N720,000.00. This shows a great potential for profits, especially when compared to the cost of production. The returns of investment is appreciable. While this is the case, you need total diligence and commitment to realize such results. **Mechanized Cotton Farming** Although most of the farming practices in Nigeria is manual, mechanized farming is practiced in a handful of places. This is not very popular among farmers due to the cost implications. However it is the best system of commercial farming. To exploit its advantages, small farm holdings are less than ideal. You will need vast farmlands, a hectare and above for maximum output. For the most part, our attention has been on the manual methods of cotton farming. Mechanized farming on the other hand requires significant financial investments. Some of the equipment you would have to buy include tractor(s), combine harvesters as well as other accessories. This significantly cuts down on time as well as labor requirement. This is necessary for large scale farming. Using this option, work is simplified and productivity improved. Under this method, large storage facilities are necessary. There you have it. The basics of cotton faring in Nigeria. The opportunities are there for the taking. Everyone can start commercial cotton farming. However your scale of production will be determined by your financial strength.

Be humble to your Husband Assalam’alaikum Warahmatullah *Prevention is Better than Cure* The Prophet (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said: “It is not permissible for any woman who believes in Allah and the Day of Judgement to allow anyone to enter her husband’s house, or to leave home, without her husband’s permission; and she should not obey anyone else in this regard.” [Mustadrak Al-Hakim] A husband is a great source of protection for a woman. His role is generally appreciated when he is lost. Allah (subhana wa ta’ala) has not required women to learn martial arts and all manners of self defense, rather, He (subhana wa ta’ala) in His Infinite Wisdom has provided guidelines and instructions on how to avoid getting into compromising situations, in which all her training in self defense may still not be able to protect her. The principle of having the husband’s approval for going out greatly assists a woman to maintain her honour and virtue. Women who go out wherever they want and invite into their homes whomever they feel like, without their husband’s permission, are more likely to lose their honour and character, and end up in a life of sin.

Nine lessons from Surah Hujurat *Nine Lessons from Surah Hujurat* "When a glass breaks, the sound of breaking disappears immediately, whereas the glass pieces are scattered all over, hurting whoever walks over it". Similarly, "When you say something that hurts someone's emotions and feelings, your words disappear, but in the heart remains pain for long." Therefore, don't say anything except good and always remember the nine advice and prohibitions that Allah has given in Surah Hujurat (The Surah of manners) before you say anything to anyone: 1. *فتبينوا* "Fa Tabayyanu": Investigate: whenever you receive an information, lest you harm people out of ignorance. 2. *فأصلحوا* "Fa Aslihu": Make settlement: between your brothers as believers are brothers. 3. *وأقسطوا* "Wa Aqsitu": Act justly: whenever there is a dispute try for settlement and act justly among both parties as Allah loves those who act justly. 4. *لا يسخر* "La Yaskhar": Don't ridicule people, perhaps they may be better than you to Allah. 5. *ولا تلمزوا*: "Wa La Talmizu": Don't insult one another. 6. *ولا تنابزوا*: "Wa La Tanabazu": Don't call each other with offensive nicknames. 7. *اجتنبو كثيرا من الظن* "Ijtanibu Kathiiran min Aldhan": Avoid negative assumptions, indeed some of the assumptions are sins. 8. *ولا تجسسوا* "Wa La Tajassasu": Don't spy on each other. 9. *ولا يغتب بعضكم بعضا* "Wa La Yaghtab": Don't backbite about each other. It's a major sin equivalent to eating your dead brother's flesh. Lastly, Allah says in the Qur'an *"Remind, because the reminder benefits believers"*

Breast Self Examination(BSE) As the name implies, it is the self evaluation of ones breast with the aid of the *eyes for inspection* and the *use of the flat pad of the fingertips held together for palpation* Most women experiences increased tenderness and lumpiness in their breast before their menstrual period, therefore *BSE* is best performed 5 - 7 days after menses counting the 1st day of menstrual bleeding as day 1. *BENEFITS OF BSE* It helps to be familiar with ones breasts in respect to the shape, colour, size and symmetry which can help in early detection of abnormalities in the breasts. *STEPS TO PERFORM BSE* *STEP 1.* *1* . Stand in front of a mirror. *2.* Check both breasts for anything unusual. *3* . Look for discharge from the nipple, puckering, dimpling, or scaling of the skin. The next two steps are done to check for any changes in the contour of your breasts. As you do them, you should be able to feel your muscles tighten. *STEP 2.* *1* . Watch closely in the mirror as you clasp your hands behind your head and press your hands forward. *2* . Note any change in the contour of your breasts. *STEP 3* *1* . Next, press your hands firmly on your hips and bow slightly toward the mirror pull your shoulders and elbows forward. *2* . Note any change in the contour of your breasts. Some women do the next part of the examination in the shower. Your fingers will glide easily over soapy skin, so you can concentrate on feeling for changes inside the breast. *STEP 4* *1* . Raise your left arm. *2* . Use three or four fingers of your right hand to feel your left breast firmly, carefully, and thoroughly. *3* . Beginning at the outer edge, press the flat part of your fingers in small circles, moving the circles slowly around the breast. *4* . Gradually work toward the nipple. *5* . Be sure to cover the whole breast. *6* . Pay special attention to the area between the breast and the underarm, including the underarm itself. *7* . Feel for any unusual lumps or masses under the skin. *8* . If you have any spontaneous discharge during the month, whether or not it is during your *BSE* *see* *your doctor* Repeat the examimnation on your right breast. *STEP 5* *1* . Step 4 should be repeated lying down. *2* . Lie flat on your back with your left arm over your head and a pillow or folded towel under your left shoulder. (This position flattens your breast and makes it easier to check.) *3* . Use the same circular motion described above. *4.* Repeat on your right breast America Cancer society recommends that women, beginning in the early 20's be told the benefits and limitations of *BSE* . It is then up to the individual to perform *BSE* regularly, irregularly or not at all.

The story of AbdilLaah Mus'ab bn Umayr ( The First Ambassador of Islam) أبو عبد الله مُصْعَب بن عُمَير Aboo ‘AbdilLaah Mus’ab bn ‘Umayr: The first Ambassador of Islām Mus’ab bn ‘Umayr was one of the youth of Makkah and was among the earliest reverts to Islām. He was described as the most charming and most handsome youth in Makkah; the talk of ladies and flower of the Quraysh. His mother was خناس بنت مالك Khunnaas Bint Malik. She was one of the wealthiest people in Makkah and she showered and pampered him with her wealth and luxuries. She was described as a woman of steel and gargantuan personality. Mus’ab feared his mother so much. Even when he accepted Islām, he could not manifest it out of his extreme reverence for and awe of his mother. It is reported that Mus’ab said that: لم يكن يخاف أحداً، ولا يخشى أحداً, ولا يحسب حساب أحدٍ إلا أمه، كيف سيواجه أمه بإسلامه؟ “He does not fear anyone more than his mother. How will he declare his acceptance of Islām to her?” So, Mus’ab concealed his faith and would sneak out of the house to meet the Prophet and his disciples in the house of Al-Arqam bn Abee Al-Arqam where they used to gather to pray clandestinely. Mus’ab was happy that he was able to keep his faith away from his mother, lest she persecuted him like other parents were doing with their children. However, this secret was not to last longer. One day, a man named ‘Uthmaan bn Talhah saw him going into the house of Al-Arqam and he immediately went to Mus’ab’s mother to report the incident to her. When Mus’ab returned home later that day, she summoned him in front of his uncles and some prominent chiefs of Makkah and asked him, “Have you accepted the religion of Muhammad?” Mus’ab knew that the game was up and his little secret has been exposed. There was no need for panic or denial. He looked them straight in the eye and replied, “Yes, I have.” Then, he started reciting some verses of the Qur’an. His mother became extremely enraged that she attempted to hit him in the face. Mus’ab’s confidence grew, he continued his beautiful recitation to the shock and consternation of the chiefs of Quraysh. What has come over him? They wondered. Khunnaas was lost in thought. This was not the handsome and charming Mus’ab that she used to know. Muhammad has “brainwashed” and probably bewitched her son, she thought. She concluded that the only way to stop him from becoming one of Muhammad’s followers was to put him under house arrest. Mus’ab was locked up inside a room on the order of his mother. He was cut off from the Prophet’s company. He cried and cried for days until his eye became swollen. Then one day, information reached him that the Prophet has ordered th Muslims to migrate to Abyssinia. Mus’ab managed to delude the guards by the door and escape to Abyssinia with his colleagues. Later, he returned to Makkah following a rumor that it was now safe for the faithful to live in Makkah. When Mus’ab returned to Makkah, his mother tried to convince him to abandon Islām to no avail. So, she plotted to have him shackled and imprisoned for a second time but Mus’ab resisted it violently. Having lost all hopes of convincing her son to denounce Islām, she took the extreme and only, option left for her; withholding of her wealth from him. For the sake of Islām, Mus’ab lost his mother’s affection and wealth. She disowned him. She said, “Go away, I am no longer your mother!” Mus'ab went close to her and said, يا أمي, إني لك ناصح, وعليك شفوق، فاشهدي أنه لا إله إلا الله، وأن محمداً عبده ورسوله, أجابته غاضبة مهتاجة: قسماً بالثواقب لا أدخل في دينك، فيزري برأيي ويضعف عقل "O Mother, I am advising you and my heart is with you, please bear witness that there is no God but Allāh and that Muhammad is His servant and messenger." She yelled at him angrily, "By the stars, I will never enter your religion, to degrade my status and weaken my senses!" One day, Mus’ab entered upon the Prophet and he was looking tattered and haggard. When the Prophet saw him, his eyes were filled with tears. He said, “I saw Mus'ab here, and there was no youth in Makkah more petted by his parents than he. Then he abandoned all that for the love of Allah and His Prophet!" Shortly before Hijrah after the first pledge of Al-Aqabah between the Prophet and envoys from Yathrib (now known as Al-Madinah), the Prophet commissioned Mus’ab as his first ambassador to propagate Islām in Yathrib. Mus’ab took this herculean task with utmost sincerity and unabated vigor. At the time he arrived in Yathrib, only twelve people had embraced Islām. Few months later, owing to his great services, over seventy people traveled to meet the Prophet in Makkah for the second pledge of Al-Aqabah. At the battle of Uhud, the Prophet handed the flag to Mus’ab. Following the confusion that ensued after the Makkans staged a comeback against the faithful, Mus’ab saw an impending danger. The enemies were targeting the Prophet in order to kill him. Mus’ab jumped in front of them holding the flag and shouting, Allāhu Akbar! Allāhu Akbar!! As he advanced into the enemies fold, he kept fighting and striking them down. Sadly, he met Ibn Qumay’ah who was a knight and he struck Mus’ab on his right arm and cut it off. Mus’ab held the flag with his left hand and was shouting, وَمَا مُحَمَّدٌ إِلَّا رَسُولٌ قَدْ خَلَتْ مِنْ قَبْلِهِ الرُّسُلُ “And Muhammad is but a Messenger. Messengers have passed away before him" Then, he struck him again on his left arm and cut it off. Still, Mus’ab held the flag in-between his arm and chest and was repeating that verse. Finally, he was struck with a spear with pierced through him, and he fell and died. Allāhu Akbar!!!!! He sacrificed his life to protect the Messenger of Allāh!!!! Concerning Mus’ab’s huge sacrifice for Islām, Al-Khabbaab bn al-Aratt said: هاجرنا مع رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم في سيبل الله نبتغي وجه الله، فوجب أجرنا على الله، فمنا من مضى ولم يأكل من أجره في دنياه شيئ مِنْهُمْ مُصْعَبُ بْنُ عُمَيْرٍ، قُتِلَ يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ، فَلَمْ يُوجَدْ لَهُ شَيْءٌ يُكَفَّنُ فِيهِ إِلَّا نَمِرَةٌ، فَكُنَّا إِذَا وَضَعْنَاهَا عَلَى رَأْسِهِ، خَرَجَتْ رِجْلَاهُ، وَإِذَا وَضَعْنَاهَا عَلَى رِجْلَيْهِ، خَرَجَ رَأْسُهُ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «ضَعُوهَا مِمَّا يَلِي رَأْسَهُ، وَاجْعَلُوا عَلَى رِجْلَيْهِ الْإِذْخِرَ “We emigrated with the Apostle of Allāh for Allāh’s cause, seeking His pleasure. Our rewards are due with Allāh. Amongst us are those who left this world without reaping any of his worldly rewards. One of them was Mus'ab ibn 'Umayr, who was martyred on the Day of Uhud. He did not leave behind anything except a sheet of shredded woolen cloth. If we covered his feet with it, his head was uncovered, and if we covered his feet with it, his head was uncovered. The Prophet said to us, "Cover his head with it and put lemon grass over his feet." When the Prophet saw his corpse in that pitiful state, he cried, “I saw you at Makkah, and there was not a more precious jewel, nor more distinguished one than you, and here you are bare-headed in a garment!" رضي الله عنك يا أبا عبد الله!!!!

Every Seconds: A Counting Step. I was once under his honorable tutelage. A close friend to my pater. I could recall vividly. This was a person with whom my dad spent times, gisting about life, sharing ideas and expensive thoughts and aids, challenges; financially and emotionally. As Islamic scholars to their pedigree, they held normal religious differences. Whenever he paid us a visit, dad would walk him down to his house, both would still return to us. Such was the friendship. A man of his own honour and integrity. Cool and gentle going. Nothing I knew of him but good. His meekness was an emulable one. Just the earliest hour of this afternoon, mum gave me a call: “ life is a mystery. Mallam Musa has left your dad, to the other world". He ghosted, unexpectedly as expected. It is a decree. Death is more than certainty. He couldn't hold himself from making his wife widowed. He has left his both parents behind. His young kids would only have sheer memory of their mirror who has attained seniority by the voyage to His Lord... Immediately, I went dumbfounded and saddened. My thought took me a tad further, what if the call was in respect to my own dad? I know, if, the caller wouldn't have been the informer and neither would this writer be the one inditing these words. Such is life. Death seems to us no more mysterious. But the way it comes will always make it be, internally within or spontaneous, death is death. I'm not chosen an herald on this, but my purpose is one. To you that may come across this, please, all I need is your sincere prayers for him. He's gone. His, here, is done. May Allah forgive his shortcomings and grant him Jannah. May the Almighty give the bereaved family the fortitude to bear the loss. The pain is incomprehensible. Remember, every seconds of your life time is but a step to the grave. A counting stride to meet your Maker. Make good use of the only life you have before the Owner calls it to order. No bearer of burden shall bear the burden of another.

I want to Marry a man of Deen. I WANT TO MARRY A MAN OF DEEN Yes! You want a righteous man, but do you know what that means? lt means he won't take you out on your birthday or celebrate it with you.......... He will want you to cover according to the Qur'an and Sunnah,... .. he will expect you to seek knowledge as that's what he will be upon. He won't allow you to work with men, nor will he let you upload selfies on to Instagram or these 'couple pictures' because he's a real man and he has gheerah. Have you seen any Muslim scholar like for example, mufti menk and Bilal philip or Dr Zakir and his wife pictures online before? So when you fantasize over beards and trousers above the ankles and say you want to marry a man of the sunnah, know that you must be a woman of the sunnah too, not those type of dancing scorpion with tight jeans and leggy trousers shaking the hips like serpent tails left to right. Things like this don't just come. Social media hypes up the idea of marriage through these couple selfies or even couples giving dawah and what not and you think that's marriage? Wake up. We look at the marriage of Aisha radiAllaahu anha with the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa salam and we all love the idea of it, but are we willing to give that? Aisha (radhi Allahu anha) narrated that 3 months would go by and they would not eat a thing other that dates and water Sahih Bukhari]. Can u live with ur husband without proper food for three months? Haha u will curse him and even insult him and call him all names, many of u will even seek divorce .. you see your life yet you think u are the best women on Earth but in reality u are not even qualify to be SubhanAllaah. Stop sitting here on Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp etc dreaming about your perfect life with the perfect man, it is not reality. There's sacrifice and compromise, all for the sake of Allaah. So many sisters love saying "I'm not going to cook or clean" get married and see the reality ,These times after you are married the reality will hits you, and u will like you are watching tutorials of how to hoover the living room. Marriage is serious. You're not going to cook? So he's going to spend the day earning a living to feed you and the family and you're not going to cook or clean? U are Deluded. Then, there's the other type. Some sisters, don't want a righteous man, they don't want someone who is 'strict in Deen' rather they want someone that is more easy going. Well that's a calamity, at least the first type there's a chance that he may be able to influence you to be on the same path as him, but this lenient one will drag you down with him. He will sink with you. What a mess. Many of u women want a niggar or swags men who will be playing Justin Bieber nasheeds at your wedding and dancing. How will you attain Jannah with this person? And you're here arguing with your parents, the ones that raised you because they won't let you marry him. Solution? Correct yourself. Learn your religion. Know Allaah. Act according to the sunnah. Be a woman upon the Qur'an and Sunnah and work for Jannah with a man upon the Qur'an and Sunnah. That's how it works. The example I gave you of Aisha Radhi Allahu anha and the Prophet sallal lahu alayhi wassalam, which are the best of examples, did they have everything in life? No. Did that take away from the status Allaah granted them? No. SubhanAllaah! You're going in to a marriage and you don't even understand the three categories of Tawhid and you want Allaah's blessing? It's not a joke. This religion is beautiful and as are the people that act according to it, without taking away anything from it or adding to it. SEEKING ISLAMIC KNOWLEDGE IS COMPULSORY UPON EVERY MUSLIM AND MUSLIMAH. I will put on my body wash, I want to be looking so beautiful. Please beautification is poor without fully respect and full obedient to Allah, His prophet and your husband. Never sell your head because you want to buy tail. Stop cheap excuses and learn your Deen.

Politics in islam It is The if note that the basic meaning of politics is to stand for what protect your interest; be it you striving to protect your personal interest, or that of your family, to the commonest one of people having someone to protect your interest at Local, National or Global level. It was reported in the two foremost sacred books of hadiths by Imam Al-Bukhari and Imam Al-Muslim; On the authority of Abu Hurairah that the Prophet said: كَانَتْ بَنُو إِسْرَائِيلَ تَسُوسُهُمْ الْأَنْبِيَاءُ، كُلَّمَا هَلَكَ نَبِيٌّ خَلَفَهُ نَبِيٌّ "The Israeliest were being governed by the Prophets; anytime a Prophet dies, another replaces him". That is, Prophets they can always count upon to protect their interest from their Creator; they took care of their affairs as the princes and and rulers do with parish. Someone who is to them, a counsellor, a preacher, etc. And don't be surprised that Allah blessed Israelites a great deal! For a scenario: in our tertiary institutions, students need to get something from the school management and it is practically impossible for each student to meet the VC individually. What do we do? We have a representative in terms of the Students' Government. For us to know the position of rulers in Islam, who ascend the position of authority through politics, Allah says in Q4:59; يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا أَطِيعُوا اللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُوا الرَّسُولَ وَأُولِي الْأَمْرِ مِنْكُمْ "O ye who believe, follow Allah and His Messenger, and *and those in the position of authority*... " ...definitely not when you're commanded to go against your creator. That shows Islam places premium on leadership in Islam as backed up by several ahadiths too. Politics is an integral part of the Islam and their is no difference between politics and religion. However, what is the correct/ideal political environment in Islam? By reading from history axioms, we needn't any super formula to formulate that the Prophet, peace be upon him, established an Islamic State and ruled over this state as the President and Ruler. This has never cause a debate among the Ummah. However, which mechanisms did the Prophet used in his sovereign? There are tons of evidences which point that his Prophethood merited him the Imammate over the state and that gave him the legitimacy to exercise his right. Why? Because the message he brought was sufficient for him and he did not need any pledge or contract to establish legitimacy for him. What are the evidences for this? The Prophet appointed heads that deputised for him over several tribes, villages and towns to raise his message to the people. He never feared a bit as these deputies had pledged allegiance to him based on their belief. Another evidence is that the Prophet was issuing rulings on people domiciled in other countries entirely which indicates that his sovereignty is one that had the largest circumference of influence, as he was sent to all mankind. All these evidences and others, show that political sovereignty of the Prophet was simply achieved by just believing in him and made them - the people of that time, and us - consent to his political imamship. As pointed out earlier, the prophethood of our Noble Prophet gave him the legitimacy of being a political ruler. How about the rightly guided caliphs? How did they ascend the sovereignty? On this, let's analyse their ascension to the throne as a concept of leadership in Islam under politics, viz; Concept of Leadership in Islam Islam places much emphasis on this concept such that if three people are going on a journey, they should appoint a leader among themselves (an hadith). Definition: Leadership + Is the capability of a person to lease a cluster of individuals for completion of a certain specified mission, grooming their followers with the aim of success, so that no flaw can be created. + This is one of the main reasons why the Prophets sent some Sohabas to head regions e.g. Mu'adh - Sham, as stated above. How to choose a leader in Islam + Al-Ijma'a (Consensus): whereby majority of Muslim appoint someone as a leader e.g, the appointment of Abu Bakr after the Prophet passes away. + Shuuroh (Consultation) from prominent selected few e.g the choice for 'Uthman Bn 'Afaan when 'Umar was about to die.. The Shurroh included the likes of Abdulrahmon Bn 'Awf, Aliyu etc. + A leader to choose his successor (with absolute sincerity) e.g Umar was appointed by Abu Bakr when the latter was about to die after having make necessary findings. Looking carefully at the politics played out here, it behoves us to point out that all actions was to place ultimate premium on the interest of the governed. Now, the question is: were any of them elected to office by every Tom, Dick and Harry? It is worthy of note that in politics, the moment election - in form of democracy - sets in will definitely signal the start of atrocities that is well known among our political environment. Democracy is the government of the people, by the people, and for the people. Alright. "...by the people"? By having their own set of injunctions which is not in tandem with what Islam preaches? This is where scholars have issues with it. Remember that Islam and politics are inseparable. However, can we participate in election-ridden politics? Can a faithful Muslim be a part of the current political environment even with all the obvious? Can a conscious Muslim survive this topsy-turvy political terrain without compromising his religion? All these are rhetorical that beg your answer, individually. And I'm pretty sure there'd be a common factor and a base line for all the answers. May Allah grant us beneficial understanding of His deen.

Parent expectations from there children Mother: I fought with death when I was giving birth to you. I spent sleepless nights when you were sick and crying. I never ate without feeding you first. I bore so many pains to bring you to the stage that you are in today. How will you repay me my child? Child: When I grow up, I will find a good job and earn lots of money for you so you can enjoy the pleasures of this world. Mother: Your father is doing this already and I do not expect this from you too. By the time you are earning I will be old and will not be in need of any worldly luxuries. Son: I will find a pious lady and marry her so she can cook for you and take care of you. Mother: That is not her duty my son and neither should you marry for that reason. It is not compulsory on her to do any service to me, neither do I expect this from her. Your marriage should be for you, a companion and a comfort for you as you go through this journey of life. Child: Tell me mother how can I repay you then? Mother: (With tears in her eyes) Visit or call me often. A mother only requires this much from you while she is alive. Then when I die give me your shoulder and bury me. Whenever you perform prayers, supplicate for me. Give out in charity for me. Remember your every good deed will benefit me in the hereafter so be good and kind always. Fulfill the rights of all those around you. The sleepless nights and pains I took to bring you up was not a favour to you but was for my creator. He blessed me with you as a beautiful gift and as a means for me to attain His pleasure. Your every good deed becomes my repayment. Will you do it my child... ? Child: (Cannot speak and had tears in his eyes) Beautiful message for all the amazing Mothers out there.

Islamic guidelines for attaining True success, True happiness and True peace of mind. There are three steps in attaining these. The steps are: 1. To Know 2. To Love 3. To Serve The first step is about coming to know God – through divine creations, one’s own being, the purpose of our life on earth, our life after physical death, and our final destination to be with God. The second step is coming to love God — again through the wonder of divine creations, one’s own being, in the sacred gift of life, and in meeting God through our daily activities and awareness. Finally, the third step is to learn to serve God — in preserving and respecting all of creation, in caring for others and oneself, in giving God our daily praise and prayer. The order in which we learn these steps is very important, for one cannot love someone who is unknown, nor can anyone genuinely serve someone they do not love. Ideally, however, the steps of knowing, loving and serving should be pursued in parallel, so that even as imperfect human beings, we can always be in the blessed state of knowing a little, loving a little, and serving a little. From there, we can increase our spiritual fitness toward knowing more, loving more and serving Above all, in everything, we ask the blessings and guidance of God the Most Merciful, Most Loving One. The Victim was Raped Putting an end to rape goes beyond social media outcries that won't last more than a week. The impact is like dropping a pinch of salt in the river. No one is addressing the main issue, the factors of rape. We live in a society that if you dare mention the causes and solution, you will be tagged an enabler, you are automatically blaming the victim or justifying the devilish act. But for how long are we going to continue playing politics with the future of these fragile vessels? The victim was not raped the moment rape occur. The victim was raped when we allow songs glorifying rape in our society, songs describing female private part. Listen to Olumide's song "story for the gods" glorifying rape, and you will realised the victim was raped the moment the song was released into the society and we all keep mum. The victim was raped the moment we accept indecent dressing as the new normal. While we are growing up, it is a taboo to wear a mini skirt, but today we allow our girls to roam the street naked, grown up girls appear on the street with panties. The victim was raped when women lost their dignity. The society reduces women to mere object of advertisement. What is the correlation between advertising a car and putting the picture of a semi-nude lady in front of it? Modeling was introduced to professionalise lack of shame. The victim was raped when substance abuse is become a phenomenon. When addicts have access to prescription drugs. When the society is flooded with different brands of alcohol herbal beverages that are aphrodisiac The victim was raped when the family system collapsed, the women that are supposed to instill moral values in the male child are on 8 am to 8 pm paid employment, the child is left at the mercy of uncensored content on television, he watched how rape is being done on television, he watched things that only married people are allowed to do, he listened to songs glorifying rape and when he eventually grows up, he would have become a monster. I weep. If you want to realistically attack the menace of rape or sexual abuses in our society, then the approach should be holistic and not hypocritic... We must be set to address real issues no matter how unworthy the people think it to be. The one who thinks nude dresses are the sole cause of rape is as problematic and reckless as the one who doesn't think nudity of today's ladies is a part cause of the high increase of rape cases. The whole society is sexually tensed up by what we hear and see daily... Do I need to explain any further with the kinds of music that glorifies illegitimate sex, soft core and hard core sex movies and programs that are increasingly filling up the satellite stations and internet spaces, the high rate of immoral dress codes in the name of dress to kill to such an extent that we are almost all generally confused as to what "private parts" mean again... Yes, there are those who regardless of the presence or absence of the aforementioned are still serial rapists but how many are they? We need practical steps to address the issues of rape in the society beyond this walking on the street everytime a rape occurs shouting "Say No To Rape" as if people actually don't know this already... Even the rapist knows his action is a BIG NO except for the one suffering some form of disorderliness. When we were justifying premarital sex, when prostitutes were registering themselves as a corporate organization, when idiots were saying "virginity is not dignity but lack of opportunity", when fornication was presented as "mutual consent between two discerning adults", when we kept justifying immoralities... Were we expecting it not to graduate to more serious problems or crimes? In my view, the issues of rape needs both a religious as well as a societal approach. The religious centers must be at the forefront in fighting all forms of immoralities starting with immoral dresses, speeches and conducts.... Parents should as a matter of necessity give a robust upbringing to their children... Not leaving the children to this already condemned society to pick non-existent lessons or to the infamous TV stations and Internet which are becoming notorious and intentional for their spread of raw immoralities. Cases of rape must be taken seriously and addressed speedily. Penalties for rapists MUST not be less than *Public Death Sentence*.

Rewriting your Story Writing about oneself and personal experiences — and then rewriting your story — can lead to behavioral changes and improve happiness.  We already know that expressive writing can improve mood disorders and help reduce symptoms among cancer patients, among other health benefits. Some research suggests that writing in a personal journal for 15 minutes a day can lead to a boost in overall happiness and well-being, in part because it allows us to express our emotions, be mindful of our circumstances and resolve inner conflicts. Or you can take the next step and focus on one particular challenge you face, and write and rewrite that story. We all have a personal narrative that shapes our view of the world and ourselves. But sometimes our inner voice doesn’t get it right. By writing and then editing our own stories, we can change our perceptions of ourselves and identify obstacles that stand in the way of our personal well-being. The process is similar to Socratic questioning (referenced above). Here’s a writing exercise: Write a brief story about your struggle. *I’m having money problems. I am having a hard time making friends in a new city. I’m never going to find love. I’m fighting with my spouse.* Now write a new story from the viewpoint of a neutral observer, or with the kind of encouragement you’d give a friend.  *Money is a challenge but you can take steps to get yourself into financial shape.*  *Everyone struggles in their first year in a new city. Give it some time. Join some groups.*  *Don’t focus on finding love. Focus on meeting new people and having fun. The rest will follow.* *Couples argue. Here’s what your situation looks like to a neutral observer.*  Numerous studies show that writing and rewriting your story can move you out of your negative mindset and into a more positive view of life. “The idea here is getting people to come to terms with who they are, where they want to go,” said James Pennebaker, a psychology professor at the University of Texas who has pioneered much of the research on expressive writing.  “I think of expressive writing as a life course correction.”

If you have ever been to cocoa farm, you would realize how beautiful cocoa farm can be, probably one of the best place to get closer to nature. **Setting Up Cocoa Farm** Locate a large expanse of forest land with the appropriate climate and suitable rainfalls. Cocoa seedling is very sensitive and can die off quickly if not handled properly. Under the forest canopy is the ideal place to plant cocoa. The land you intend to use for your cocoa farming must be covered by rain forest canopy.  The trees need even temperatures between 21-23 degrees Celsius, with a fairly constant rainfall of 1000-2500mm per year. Get good and improved cocoa variety from reliable source. International Institute for Tropical Agriculture will be a good place to get the cocoa variety with some advice. Or if you want to take the gamble, you just get the cocoa seeds directly from cocoa farm from an experienced cocoa farmers. Clear the forest and plant the cocoa seeds at the beginning of raining season. Best period for planting cocoa is around April May when the raining reason is just picking up. **Climate Condition For Cocoa Farming** Cocoa is produced in countries in a belt between 10ºN and 10ºS of the Equator, where the climate is appropriate for growing cocoa trees. The largest producing countries are Ivory Coast, Ghana and Indonesia. The natural habitat of the cocoa tree is in the lower storey of the evergreen rainforest, and climatic factors, particularly temperature and rainfall, are important in encouraging optimum growth. Cocoa plants respond well to relatively high temperatures, with a maximum annual average of 30 – 32ºC and a minimum average of 18 – 21ºC. Variations in the yield of cocoa trees from year to year are affected more by rainfall than by any other climatic factor. Trees are very sensitive to a soil water deficiency. Rainfall should be plentiful and well distributed throughout the year. An annual rainfall level of between 1,500mm and 2,000mm is generally preferred. Dry spells, where rainfall is less than 100mm per month, should not exceed three months. A hot and humid atmosphere is essential for the optimum development of cocoa trees. In cocoa producing countries, relative humidity is generally high: often as much as 100% during the day, falling to 70-80% during the night. The cocoa tree will make optimum use of any light available and traditionally has been grown under shade. Its natural environment is the Amazonian forest which provides natural shade trees. Shading is indispensable in a cocoa tree’s early years. **Soil Condition And Property** Cocoa needs a soil containing coarse particles and with a reasonable quantity of nutrients, to a depth of 1.5m to allow the development of a good root system. Below that level it is desirable not to have impermeable material, so that excess water can drain away. Cocoa will withstand waterlogging for short periods, but excess water should not linger. The cocoa tree is sensitive to a lack of water, so the soil must have both water retention properties and good drainage. The chemical properties of the topsoil are most important, as the plant has a large number of roots for absorbing nutrients. Cocoa can grow in soils with a pH in the range of 5.0-7.5. It can therefore cope with both acid and alkaline soil, but excessive acidity (pH 4.0 and below) or alkalinity (pH 8.0 and above) must be avoided. With many years of practical experience coupled with our ever working bulldozers, tractors and other agricultural implements at our disposal, we are here to solve the problem of agricultural mechanization in Nigeria. Our service includes land clearing, land preparation, plowing, harrowing and more. Cocoa is tolerant of acid soils, provided the nutrient content is high enough. The soil should also have a high content of organic matter: 3.5% in the top 15 centimetres of soil. Soils for cocoa must have certain anionic and cationic balances. Exchangeable bases in the soil should amount to at least 35% of the total cation exchange capacity (CEC), otherwise nutritional problems are likely. The optimum total nitrogen / total phosphorus ratio should be around 1.5. **Suitable Cocoa Varieties**  **Criollos** – This variety dominated the market until the middle of the eighteenth century, but today only a few, if any, pure Criollo trees remain. Criollo is considered the finest of the luxury cocoas. Only mildly acidic and hardly bitter at all, it possesses a mild cocoa taste with distinctive secondary aromas and hints of nuts, caramel, forest fruits and tobacco. Because the Criollo plant is more susceptible to fungal disease and other pests, it produces smaller yields and its fruits are therefore more expensive. **Forastero** – This cocoa is considered the forefather of all cocoa varieties and delivers very good harvests thanks to its robustness. It accounts for some 80% of global cocoa cultivation. Typical characteristics of Forastero are its powerful, less aromatic cocoa flavour that can in some cases be bitter or acidic. The back looks hard and rough and can be found easily in Nigeria, Ghana, and Ivory Coast. **The Trinitario** – This populations are considered to belong to the Forasteros, although they are descended from a cross between Criollo and Forastero. Trinitario planting started in Trinidad, spread to Venezuela and then to Ecuador, Cameroon, Samoa, Sri Lanka, Java and Papua New Guinea. Trinitario combines the hardiness of consumer cocoa with the pleasant flavours of luxury cocoa. Trinitario cocoa has a powerful, aromatic cocoa taste and is only slightly acidic. **Cocoa Breeding Methods** Cocoa is raised from seed. Seeds will germinate and produce good plants when taken from pods not more than 15 days underripe. **Cutting**  – Tree cuttings are taken with between two and five leaves and one or two buds. The leaves are cut in half and the cutting placed in a pot under polyethylene until roots begin to grow. **Budding** – A bud is cut from a tree and placed under a flap of bark on another tree. The budding patch is then bound with raffia and waxed tape of clear plastic to prevent moisture loss. When the bud is growing, the old tree above it is cut off. **Marcotting** – A strip of bark is removed from a branch and the area covered in sawdust and a polyethylene sheet. The area will produce roots and the branch can then be chopped off and planted.

List your Personal Strengths **LIST OF YOUR PERSONAL STRENGTHS** **Your past is the reason behind who you are, with all your strengths and weaknesses. You may not like certain parts of your character, but you should definitely be proud of your strengths. And let me repeat that again: your strengths are a consequence of your past.** **A smooth sea never made a skillful sailor. Good times are only producing soft people. So your strengths more or less developed from the tough times in your past. The stronger you are, the more difficult situations you probably had to encounter.** **Therefore you should definitely perform a personal swot analysis, in which you list all your strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats; you should see all the strengths you acquired as the aftermath of the battles you fought in the past.** **Last but not least, you mustn’t forget. Strength aren’t only muscles and power and being better than others at something. The strengths also mean admitting all the limitations you have, being humble and knowing also how to be interdependent relationships, and being loving and caring towards others. Love and tenderness are the biggest strengths you can have in life. To act out of love is not the same as being soft and naïve.**

To the bachelors To the bachelors, the saying that you need a supportive wife doesn’t necessarily mean that she must be a graduate or a corporate lady. When you have a lady who doesn’t stress you beyond your limit, she’s supportive. When you have a lady who tries her best to ensure that she maintains the peace and harmony between you, your family and friends that existed before she came, she’s supportive. When you have a wife who goes down on her knees to pray for you, she’s supportive. When you have a wife who tries to instill the kind of discipline you would’ve instilled in your kids when you’re home, she’s supportive. When you have a wife who hates to see you hurt, she’s supportive. When you have a wife who always warmth’s your home with peace and love, she’s supportive. As a Muslim man, you must always remember that your wife is under no obligation to support you financially even if she earns more than you, unless she decides to do so willingly. Being a supportive partner goes beyond financial support, because you do not need money to build a happy marriage. Ask yourself the number of rich couples that are divorced and see if money is always the answer. Lower your expectations and Chase for the Barakat in marriage.

Do the thinking • [It is ironic that] your desirous self (nafs) provokes you to do what you are unsure of but you cannot win it over matters that you are certain of! The wonder of all wonders is that you are pleased with your arrogance (ghurūr), and your indulgence into idle play while overlooking what has been hidden for you! You are fooled with your health and seem to forget that sickness is near; and you rejoice for you wellness all the while you fail to notice the pain that is yet to come. *Verily, the death of others was just to remind you of your own death* , and the death of others was only to remind you of your death! Your indulgence in fulfilling your desires averts you from remembering the destruction of your essence. As one poet said, As if you had not heard of the news of the people before, and not seen how time ruined those in the present. If you did not know, then look at their ruins, the wind and the grave erased their remains. There is no house master that settled down in his grave without first being removed from his house! How many palace lords have you seen being ruled by their enemies after they were removed from their positions! O you who steps forward towards such an end, with every moment that passes, yet act as if he does not know or understand! How can the heart sleep in tranquility, while not yet knowing whether it will dwell in hell or heaven?

Choose a Happy Community What factors make a community a place where people are happy? **(a)Openness**: People are happy when they live in a community that is welcoming to all. (b) Beauty :Living in a scenic, picturesque or charming community, with lots of trees and green space, makes people happier. **(c) Social opportunities**: When a community is designed to foster social connections — restaurants, community spaces, sidewalks, trails and other public spaces — people are happier. The lesson is that where you live can have a profound effect on your happiness. If you don’t fit in, if you don’t know your neighbors, if walking outside doesn’t put a spring in your step — find a new place to live if you can afford it. Explore new neighborhoods, rent before you buy, talk to friends, talk to potential neighborhoods and relocate your way to a happier life. The key, says Jay Walljasper, author of "HOW TO DESIGN OUR WORLD FOR HAPPINESS" is to find a place where neighbors can encounter each other spontaneously. Look for neighborhoods with a green commons, sidewalks, parks, street festivals and community gatherings. If you’re in the city, choose an apartment with a shared backyard or a street known for its Halloween festival or a community newsletter. Look for signs that the people there are connected and create opportunities to connect with each other on a regular basis.

Re: settling matters How rapid it is for something absolutely unfortunate, when visited upon the masses, to spread as fast as a speed of light? In minutes, social media statuses have been flooded with lies and deceptions all in the name of fun; "settling matters" as it is known. However, and before you throw stones, I implore all Muslims and morally upright ones to escort me down the next paragraphs. It is heavily important to stay away from lazy parasites who perch on you just to satisfy their needs. They do not come to alleviate your burdens, hence, their mission is to distract, detract and extract, and make you live in abject poverty. Yeah! Nonsensical engagements are paths to intellectual poverty. My dear Muslim brothers and sisters should however know that, allowing riffraffs to toy with your intelligence and trade your precious time with immoralities is a despicable matter in need of refusal uproar. More intelligently, subscribing to every single, fruitless 'trend' on social media shows how unconcerned you are about the affairs of the next life. One of the Salaf said: “Never leave a good deed because of its difficulty, for the difficulty will eventually go but the deed will remain forever. Never do a bad deed because of its pleasure/enjoyment, for the pleasure/enjoyment will eventually go but the deed will remain forever.” "Settling matter", as it is called, amazingly showed how completely delusions can be consumable and enjoyable by people. In Islam, lying, even while joking, is forbidden. Mu’awiyyah ibn Haydah reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Woe to one who tells lies to make people laugh. Woe to him! Woe to him!” [Source: Sunan Abī Dāwūd 4990]. How scary was the Hadith. Do you wish to trade a short-term pleasure (due to this 'deceptive game') with an everlasting punishment (as a repercussion)? It is reported that Abū Bakr Al-Ṣiddīq – Allāh be pleased with him – said: "Beware of lying, for lying is far removed from īmān." [Abū Bakr Al-Ḵallāl, Al-Sunnah no. 1467, 1470; Al-Bayhaqī, Shuʿab Al-Īmān no. 4463.] – Ibn Al-Qayyim said in Al-Fawāʾid, …"Thus, every good action – both outer and inner – comes from truthfulness, and every evil corrupt action – both outer and inner – comes from falsehood and lying. ‘Umar ibn ‘Abdul-’Azeez said: “I have never lied since learning that lying adversely affects the liar.” [Siyar A’laam an-Nubalaa, 5/121] And all praises belongs to Allah Who has made lying a sinful and despicable act. We ask Him to safeguard our hearts and limbs (eyes, ears, lips etc) from disobeying and transgressing His limits.

Wake up before its too late I am lying on the bed. My children, brothers and sisters are all sitting by my bedside. Some close friends too are standing and overlooking my face. Suddenly I start breathing with long breaths. Someone among the people sitting in the room. Everyone around repeats with the reciter. My breath starts to ease out. I am opening my eyes and looking at something. Angel of death has arrived. I am getting late for the eternal journey. My mouth has opened up. My brother is dropping some water into my mouth, it is perhaps the "Zam Zam" water which I had preserved for the very moment. Then everyone starts to recite, "Laa'ilaaha illallaaha Muhammadur Rasoolullaah". I have lost my vision. I have lost my tongue, I have even lost my sensation but I can still hear. I can hear my loved ones weeping in grief. I'm not dead yet but I am almost lifeless. Angel of death makes the final act and takes my soul out with an intensive jerk. I have now left this world. All my wealth, cars, properties, bank balances, contacts and connections are of no use now. My identity is my grave and I am being referred to as 'dead body'. My near ones are preparing my grave and some of them think it as inauspicious to keep the dead body inside the house for too long. The house which I myself built and lived in is shrinking in space for me. My bath is being prepared. I am taken out in the compound for the final bath. My bathroom fitted with expensive bath fittings is not for me now. I am being wrapped in the white cotton shroud. I am boxed in a wooden box for the travel to my grave. My expensive car is not for me now. For what then did I amass so many worthless things. Why did I lie to earn the useless wealth. It is of no use to me. Woe to me for I wasted my life in vain. I forgot that my last journey is near and certain. Why did I sin so much ? Oh! I have lost my game. Now stop imagining This is going to happen one day with you and me. So be prepared. Good deeds will make your journey and the life of the Hereafteru pleasant. Remember death. It is certain. It is so near. This world is just a short dream..... WAKE UP B4 ITS TOO LATE! A Beautiful Hadith Rasulullah ( ﺻﻞ ﺍﻟﻠﻪ ﻋﻠﻴﻪ ﻭﺳﻠﻢ ) said: 'When a man dies and his relatives are busy in funeral, there stands an extremely handsome man by his head. When the dead body is shrouded, that man gets in between the shroud and the chest of the deceased. When after the burial, the people return home, 2 angels, Munkar and Nakeer(names of two special Angels), come in the grave and try to separate this handsome man so that they may be able to interrogate the dead man in privacy about his faith. But the handsome man says, 'He is my companion, he is my friend. I will not leave him alone in any case. If you are appointed for interrogation, do your job.. I cannot leave him until I get him admitted into Paradise '. Thereafter he turns to his dead companion and says, 'I am the Qur'an, which you used to read, sometimes in a loud voice and sometimes in a low voice. Do not worry. After the interrogation of Munkar and Naker, you will have no grief..' When the interrogation is over, the handsome man arranges for him from Al-Mala'ul A'laa (the angels in Heaven) silk bedding filled with musk. Rasulullah( ﺻﻞ ﺍﻟﻠﻪ ﻋﻠﻴﻪ ﻭﺳﻠﻢ ) said: 'On the Day of Judgement, before Allah, no other Intercessor will have a greater status than the Qur'an, neither a Prophet nor an angel.

The 1-Minute Rule One of my favorite bits of happiness advice comes from Ms. Rubin, author of “Happiness at Home” and many other useful guides and articles on happiness and good habits. She proffers a one-minute rule that I have found incredibly useful in my own life. Here it is: **Do any task that can be finished in one minute.**  This simple sage advice helps you decide what to tackle in a messy room. Do the one-minute tasks first. Here’s her list: Hang up a coat. Read a letter and toss it. Fill in a form. Answer an email. Jot down a citation. Pick up phone messages. File a paper. Put a dish in the dishwasher. Put away the magazines. If you do nothing else, incorporate the one-minute rule into your life. It will give you a short boost of happiness after you accomplish so much in a short time — and as a bonus, you will end up with a cleaner room, which will also make you happy.

Learning to let go Together we wrote our stories. Together we sang our songs. But now it's all gone. Stashed away like photographs inside my mind in a place I have labeled "memories." And sometimes, when I flip through those pages, thinking tenderly of the past, remembering who we used to be- sitting in class having long conversations, exchanging lyrics and words, or just laughing 'til we couldn't breathe- it fills me with a bitter-sweet ache, and I just want to be little again. Sometimes, random memories- a reminiscent word said here, a familiar melody heard there, a burst of giggles and laughter- catch me off-guard and nostalgia floods my senses. The desire to relive them, to create once again the everlasting from fleeting moments, to feel the love that remains. It grips me, taking hold of my entire being. My heart is throbbing again with that sweet ache, longing for what once was. And that's when I realize, it is but the wistful desire of a child that never grew up and learned just how to be. So I had to settle for passing through the moments like walking through doors, only allowing my heart to flutter,  to flicker again with the bliss  I had once experienced. It is a reminder of a happiness I once owned, of the love that remains, of the things I no longer have... and knowing that it will never come again is what makes it so sweet. A strange feeling fills my chest as I leave this place. As if I am not only going to miss  the people I love, but also the person I was at that time and place, because I will never be that way again. And I cling to it, to that memory, to that person I want to remain, afraid to let it fade to let it become a ghost, a shadow. Everything that I have loved has become everything I lost. Wasn't it beautiful when we believed in everything?
