Every Seconds: A Counting Step.
I was once under his honorable tutelage. A close friend to my pater. I could recall vividly. This was a person with whom my dad spent times, gisting about life, sharing ideas and expensive thoughts and aids, challenges; financially and emotionally. As Islamic scholars to their pedigree, they held normal religious differences. Whenever he paid us a visit, dad would walk him down to his house, both would still return to us. Such was the friendship. A man of his own honour and integrity. Cool and gentle going. Nothing I knew of him but good. His meekness was an emulable one. Just the earliest hour of this afternoon, mum gave me a call: “ life is a mystery. Mallam Musa has left your dad, to the other world". He ghosted, unexpectedly as expected. It is a decree. Death is more than certainty. He couldn't hold himself from making his wife widowed. He has left his both parents behind. His young kids would only have sheer memory of their mirror who has attained seniority by the voyage to His Lord... Immediately, I went dumbfounded and saddened. My thought took me a tad further, what if the call was in respect to my own dad? I know, if, the caller wouldn't have been the informer and neither would this writer be the one inditing these words. Such is life. Death seems to us no more mysterious. But the way it comes will always make it be, internally within or spontaneous, death is death. I'm not chosen an herald on this, but my purpose is one. To you that may come across this, please, all I need is your sincere prayers for him. He's gone. His, here, is done. May Allah forgive his shortcomings and grant him Jannah. May the Almighty give the bereaved family the fortitude to bear the loss. The pain is incomprehensible. Remember, every seconds of your life time is but a step to the grave. A counting stride to meet your Maker. Make good use of the only life you have before the Owner calls it to order. No bearer of burden shall bear the burden of another.
