Yes
I think you should be able to search for the hashtags by just clicking on them. That's how they're supposed to work by default.

What is there to understand. They are links now. Previously they weren't. Previously they would show up as text. #HashtagsForEveryone

Frankly, we're just reacting to what people do. It's not the decision we made. People already put hashtags into articles, comments, etc... but they weren't showing as links.

Note that hashtags don't include dots ;) Because otherwise any hashtag at the end of the sentence will be with a dot at the #end.
