Ok, so we have released the copyright protection system about a month ago, because read.cash was spammed with articles copied from Bitcoin.com, Investopedia, etc...
However, a lot of users wanted to reprint their own content. We have no way of verifying user claims about who owns which content. That led to much contention with the community.
We think that we have a good solution to this in the future, but it will require quite some time to implement. In the meantime we're still receiving complaints daily about this.
So we're removing the "Syndicated or Non-OC" labels from all articles and disabling the detector for now.
Cool. I mean.. I fully supported the idea and I am happy to see you guys have a better idea coming soon. Meanwhile I wonder, why not turn it around and make a "original content approved". You think it would lead to the same contention and support requests? I'm fine with it either way. You guys do a fantastic job. Please don't feel disheartened about the naggers.
And I just realize there were quite a few content creators, who stopped using this site, so maybe you'll actually see a nice increase in quality content.
