Disabling the "Syndicated or Non-OC" tag

Ok, so we have released the copyright protection system about a month ago, because read.cash was spammed with articles copied from Bitcoin.com, Investopedia, etc...

However, a lot of users wanted to reprint their own content. We have no way of verifying user claims about who owns which content. That led to much contention with the community.

We think that we have a good solution to this in the future, but it will require quite some time to implement. In the meantime we're still receiving complaints daily about this.

So we're removing the "Syndicated or Non-OC" labels from all articles and disabling the detector for now.

Cool. I mean.. I fully supported the idea and I am happy to see you guys have a better idea coming soon. Meanwhile I wonder, why not turn it around and make a "original content approved". You think it would lead to the same contention and support requests? I'm fine with it either way. You guys do a fantastic job. Please don't feel disheartened about the naggers.

And I just realize there were quite a few content creators, who stopped using this site, so maybe you'll actually see a nice increase in quality content.

I mean even with all the badges in the world sometimes it's just impossible to keep the author on site. Sometimes people just stop writing at all.

Read.cash got a lot worse. This is a good first step, now remove the fund, remove the boosted, remove the upvoting and change the hompage back to the tiles please, thanks

Interesting theme, this digital form of money. I wish, great texts would become a form of a currency too! Then the experts of my favorite writing service https://grademiners.com/ would be really rich!:)

Many students have problems completing written assignments. They sometimes have trouble finding a topic and argument and struggle to find inspiration https://papernow.org/. Writing is really a very difficult activity in school, and not everyone is endowed with a unique ability for this type of activity. But no matter how inclined you are, you should do your best to meet the requirements in order to pass the subject well with a decent score. If you are serious about learning, you need to develop an effective way to address this issue. To facilitate this writing building, you can take advantage of some of the best online tools at your disposal.

I am not sure about this move, honestly. It will definitely lead to a lot of copy pasted crap, thus kinda degrading the site as a whole. Maybe it would have been worth it to deal with the issues everyday, I don't know, just what I think.

Again, we have a plan how to deal with this better. It'll just take some time and it makes no sense replying to all "my article got Non-OC tag" support requests. Let's see how it goes.

Actually, I good the way copy and past doesn't allow to be here. It helps to prevent copy and past.

If the new one doesn't work out, I hope you go back to the current OC marker one - whatever to save your time so you can keep improving readcash.

Although I agree that plagiarism is a huge problem and should be solved, I feel like it’s best for the growth of the community for content creators to be able to share their content across different platforms. It’s a hard problem but if solved can help all parties involved. Looking forward to what read.cash comes up with. You guys have pleasantly surprised me with the fund idea. I’m sure you’ll do the same with the OC content.

THANK YOU SO MUCH! It's so nice to see that you guys reacted to the article I wrote by implementing my suggestions, even after our initial disagreements on the subject. Thanks so much for being an admin team that values the input of your users!

if that's ok with you can you briefly talk about the new solution? i mean how it's going to detect spam articles from original content?

What's planned is a pretty complex system to be honest, we're going more in the direction of the personalization, where everyone would decide for themselves what exactly they want to see. But frankly it's probably a plan for a few months, so it makes no sense to tell about it in detail, since the details change often as we continue to think about it :)

I can't wait to see what comes next...I understand that as a bleeding-edge platform, there will always be some issues that we must work out. So far, I've only great things to say about the read.cash team after reading this decision.

Actually it's good because it reduces the problem of copying other people's content. Is there no better decision because disabling is also not a good step in my opinion.

"I always have 100% trust in read.cash team for listening to users complaints and proffer immediate solutions". Meanwhile, I will urge users to stay away from plagiarism pending the time a new system will be installed. Thank you all.

I don't think deactivating it is the solution. I will suggest you made another before deactivating the old one.

Hey while it was a little annoying we don't want to become Uptrennd and fill of crap repetitive non OC posts.

They listened to me and implemented my suggestion....so, you were right. Even though read.cash and I had the flame war in the comments section of my article last week, in the end they saw that this was a good idea and listened to our comments! Thanks again, read.cash!

Yep. Great to hear. The RC team has shown they really listen to feedback. So I was optimistic. Many platforms do not. Some like Facebook even delete alternative views and established facts.

Yes, there is a plan. The copy-paste detector wasn't deleted. It will just be shown as a guide for human beings to make decision. That's about all I can tell right now :)

Sounds great - thanks RC :) All the best with your new solution and community support!

A suggestion to enforce the anti-plagiarism program on read.cash and encourage people to put sources:

1) There should be a window popping up before publishing. (a) window must be filled with a link source where they got the idea or something. By that people will be encouraged to put some. (b) window that shows an agreement/warning and must be checked.

2) An article with sources has a higher distribution income than those with no sources. Do not worry when you implemented this, EVERYONE will do it, thus, it would go back to the normal distribution.

For everyone who wants to check their work. You can check your work in here: https://edubirdie.com/plagiarism-checker

(DO NOT FORGET TO PUT YOUR SOURCES)

Wow big move. What ever the answer. Getting rid of copy cats and avoiding 10,000 posts about roses needs to be important.
