"Beware of wolves in sheep's clothing", this was Jesus warning us about false prophets in Matthew 7:15. But I won't be talking about prophets here, it's about human beings in general. I narrated a story on noise.cash yesterday. Actually, it was a short clip I saw on my WhatsApp status which I decided to translate into writing. Here is it;
You can spare some time to read the story before continuing.
The truth about life is that many of us are so eager to help one another, but the wickedness of other people had stopped us from helping which also affected the innocent ones. We then look as if we do not care, whereas we do. We are just being careful not to fall into the ditch set up against us.
I remembered my lecturer some years ago during my NCE program. He was driving home and he decided to show sympathy for some students by dropping them along the way, they alighted and thanked him. Unknown to my lecturer, the students had stolen his phone. He got home and couldn't find his phone anymore. Since that day, he stopped lifting people from the road because of his experience.
We all would believe that God is always with those He loves, especially those who cares about others with a pure heart.
Human beings are wicked. You want to help them but they pay back stabbing you at the back. I stopped giving alms to beggars long time ago because of different stories I have heard about them and for me not to be a victim of disappearing, I stopped helping which has also concerned the good ones. But how do we know the real ones from the fake? This is why we need to be careful of those who pretend to be good, whereas they have this cruel act in their heart. How do we know what's in their heart? Only God can protect us from people like them.
We have seen a situation where a wealthy man who lived all his life being a Philantropist and giving to everyone which they all benefitted from. Somehow, things turned out in the opposite for the man, then those who have eaten from him would turn their back and act as if they do not know him again because something had happened to him. Is that life?
Some people tend to forget quickly the help rendered to them within an instant and it makes the doer a fool to have helped them in the first place. Who are we deceiving?
You have a home and you decided to help one who doesn't have, just to sleep and wake up in your home, then such person steals your properties just as an experience @gertu13 had sometimes ago. Are we being ungrateful? Why are some humans like this?
A married woman decided to harbour her friend who was deported from the overseas, pending the time she would get a job and rent her own home into her house. The friend started lusting after the husband and she went to an herbalist for a charm. She poisoned the woman and charmed the husband. After few years, her secret was exposed and she was arrested. The wife is already dead and nothing can be done to bring her back. The man is back to square one of being a bachelor.
What was her offence? Does she deserves to die after trying to help her friend?
In my tribe, we would always say "the heart of a man is so deep, that we can't identify the wicked ones"
This life has gone beyond helping everyone you see because if you feel like helping, people will condemn you especially when you are in trouble.
"What's her problem? Must she help always?" These are words used to criticize the victim and you start regretting your actions.
Should we then stop being nice to people again? At least the Bible tells us to help one another. What if you decide to do someone a favor and you are treated badly? Would you rather stop the act?
My answer will be No, keep doing what you are doing and pray alongside too. Their plans is to stop you but God's plan is way bigger than theirs.
Just as the way God saved those two guys from the other guy who planned setting them up, He will surely save you and vindicate you. You don't have to worry if only you are on God's side. He will never allow any harm come near you because He sees all things even to the deepest realm where they believe we can't see.
We can actually not put our whole trust in human beings because you would be surprised if they turned out against your expectation about them.
Thanks for reading
I did help many especially my classmates and colleagues but sometimes I lose the motivation to help since they can even appreciate what you are doing and your kindness has been abused many times. But as I reflect, I realized that I should not stop being kind since they say that kindness is contagious, I just remain kind to them and I am positive that they can feel it and they will do the same with other people.
