I know you probably have been wondering why I have active here. It's nothing really, my school is organizing a party for final year students. The preparation is time-consuming. The event is done already, so I am back home hive. Some of us may feel like there is no big deal organizing such an event but the reverse is the case. Here, I'd like to share steps that were taken in organizing a successful event.
Events Committee
The chairman of the committee instituted is @cool08 (Yeah! We are colleagues in our secular engagements). The committee is responsible for drafting a budget that will be scrutinized, which was handsomely done, and the committee kick-off immediately.
Since everyone has been committed to one assignment or the other, all I'd do was to check up on how far each group had gone with preparation. The group for Hall Preparation was quick to the venue in the early hours of the day. They set out with decoration. I was wowed with what I saw with the little fund, the group delivered. This was what the hall looked like before the event started.
Two sets of students are graduating today. The first, final year students in the senior secondary school and next is the Basic Nine who are graduating to the Senior Secondary school. In 2020, we were unable to organize any social gathering sake of the pandemic. The government has placed strict restrictions on such gatherings. This year is however different. As guests began to arrive at the venue. The Master of Ceremony commenced the program. The first presentation was a cultural display by students/members of the African Culture Club. Their presentation was a foster to the liveliness of the atmosphere.
The college Drama Club also gave a good playlet on the importance of creating a good reading habit. Parents applauded the initiative behind the presentation.
Fashion parade from different cultural diversities of Nigeria was on display. The Yoruba cultural heritage won the presentation with a whopping thirteen thousand points. The girl in the image below won the even. She is crowned Miss El-Bossaa for the next academic session.
This Edo Princess won the best cultural dancer for the year. You needed to have been here to see potentials and skills on display. She danced her heart on the stage.
The night before, cooking preparation started. We were expecting six hundred guests at least. So, you can imagine the level of cooking that will be done. As the lead of the team, I had to sacrifice my sleep for that day to ensure things went on smoothly. It was a fun-filled night as played good music to keep awake.
A big male cow was killed for the party. So, as local guys, we made pepper soup to groove throughout the night. When it was time to cook the soup, I took the courage to show my cooking skills. First, my colleagues doubted my culinary skills, by the outcome proved them wrong. Maybe that'why the action below came up 🤣😂😂
Here is @cool08, the chairman organizing committee eating directly from the pot of pepper soup😅😂😂. After all these, we went home to refresh for the party.
As if that wasn't enough, we had a great graduation party for my son, Cheta.
He is graduating into primary school. He had been all over himself today, hurrying everyone to the party and here we are. The graduation ceremony is still on. More details will come in later.
I hope you all had fun reading through
Wow, this is a great celebration! Congratulations on your son's graduation! Wishing him all the best!
