I made it a point to teach Sage how to put his *coins* in his MONEY BANK!
The idea is to let him practice how to save money so that if he wanted to buy things for himself, he knew where to get it from.
We also open a bank account under his name for him to have a sense of accountability in the future when it comes to his expensese or financial aspect.

As a first time mom, saving for Sage's Junior Life Policy mainly for his Higher Education at an early age gives me a feeling of #SECURITY despite uncertainties!

Sage started travelling at 8 months and it has been a pretty smooth journey with him back then. He had been to the Philippines and his late grandpapa Adonis was so happy to meet him for the first and the last time. (God has called him HOME last year!)
Every travel that Sage has, I know it has been imprinted in his brain that the world is so huge he can not be contained in Seychelles alone. The luxury he experienced when we went to Abu Dhabi was incomparable to his little discomfort in Trou D'eau Douce, Mauritius yet he managed to adapt somehow.
There was this moment we had at Trou D'eau Douce whereby he unconsciously asked for a "table" so he could eat his food. That little "inconvenience and discomfort" he experienced abroad would be his life lesson that even without a table, he can still eat on the bed. I intended to have him and his dad stayed in a place where both could see that in the other parts of the world, luxury and discomfort are subjective.

How Do You See Yourself?
I have this deep introspection back when I was still single, unemployed, no sort of destination in my life whatsoever according to my friends just so because I did not accept a job opportunity back in my country and the security it offered!
Everyone was so eager to have a placement in the government because it was a dream come true. Having the tenure of the job, benefits etc and some actually did the table negotiation just to get the post and here I was on the other hand, so obstinate not to sign the letter of intent from the Director of the Division Office because >>>>>I DON'T FEEL LIKE WORKING there much to say I WANTED TO EXPLORE THE WORLD just yet!<<<<<
I don't want to be stuck in a place where I haven't learned how it was to live and work overseas! >>>>So I declined the offer>>>>, my friends and my relatives were mocking me for a very stupid decision I have ever made! !!!!
It was a real battle of self-worth vs self-actualization!
Fast forward, I have a better offer bound for Doha and with God's intervention, HE TWISTED it with a magical turnover!
So lesson learned from this:
At times in our lives, we were dictated to follow what others were going through when it comes to employment as they saw it as a good opportunity not knowing should we strive harder on what WE SEE for OURSELVES, would be bound for a transcendental journey instead!!!!

I did my research when we stayed at Grand Baie in Mauritius. One of the main points I wanted to stay there was not just because it was a tourist destination but due to the fact that the playground was awesome for children.
Here's the thing I have learned while travelling with my baby and my hubby unlike when I travelled solo. The very main consideration was to have the best experience for your toddler because it would be implanted in their brain how they enjoyed their experience.
Sage has always been travelling since 8 months old and for him to be able to have exposure what the reality in other countries he visited, he never insisted on buying more toys yet more on how he could play the slides at a nearby shopping mall. Although there was a point he spontaneously asked for a table to eat at as I booked only a room for us to stay unlike when we were in Abu Dhabi whereby he had all the amenities needed not to mention the swimming pool at Radisson Blu in Yas Island became his playground.
Glad that in Mauritius, Malls have a very friendly playground and the kids were able to mingle with others while the parents were looking after them in the food court area. It was a good set-up knowing that if you wanted your child to have fun while you can also do a bit of your work (online) then going to the malls on a weekend was a good alternative.

Celebrating Labour Day in Caudan Waterfront

Transformer, Superheroes and Cartoon Character Themes were so amazing!😊
at 39, I still feel like "the kid in me" was bursting for joy when I saw these awesome superheroes in the mall!
La Croisette is a newly opened mall in Mauritius located at Grand Baie area and almost the signature items were available there! One of the highlights was showing these superheroes to the kids and even adults for bringing more fun in the celebration of Labour Day!
Sage enjoyed watching Bumblee Bee! Visitors and locals were able to take picture of the superheroes and I'm glad I managed to take a spot with them!

Trou D'eau Douce is a coastal area in the Southeast part of Mauritius.vWe arrived around 7;10 pm but managed to get out of the airport at almost 8:30 p.m as we did the PCR test upon arrival.
Thank God all tests were negative...
From the airport going to our guest house which was around 50Euros and given the timing for a duration of 1 hour and 15 minutes drive, it was pricey yet Aki, the owner of the guest house managed to negotiate for only 30 Euros, it was fair enough right!
We never get the chance to see the surroundings along the way as the road was dark yet the next day we went to Center de Flacq where a shopping centre like SuperU, had things we needed for essentials.
Some images of our first five days in Trou D'Eau Douce and went to Port Louis, the capital of Mauritius on the second day where Sage enjoyed driving at Caudan Waterfront!
A Change in Flight means a Change in Price!
Travelling again anytime this week and this Re-Timing-Re-Scheduling- a.k.a "CANCELLATION" from Air Seychelles is not a joke at all.
THRICE to be exact.!
I understand the DELAYED of Flights but RE-ACCOMMODATION THRICE? Come on! So far with Etihad, I never had any issues! Darn!
The implication of this is not a good revenue for the airline company.
Unreliable according to my Mauritian colleague added to the change of price of the taxi I already paid however needed to CANCEL due to miscommunication because of the airline's re-accommodation!
But why do I still book if not asked for a Refund instead?
Two simple reasons.
1. There's no DIRECT FLIGHT bound for Mauritius if you're coming from Seychelles.
2. If you're travelling with your toddler, the SHORTEST FLIGHT, you can get the BETTER option there is.
This is our family overseas trip again for this year! need to bring my baby out of Seychelles for 14 days.

OMG! How's your Toddler at Three?
Puzzles are good stimulators for brain development at an age where my baby's growth is still so open to possibilities and creativity. Whenever we gave him new puzzles to work with, he's just so excited to keep doing it over and over again. Early morning, in between throughout the day and at night before bedtime.
This has become part of his routine.
Most of the time Sage would say, "Mommy let's play together!" he would grab my wrist and we would play football/ basketball/puzzle, hide and seek.

Teddy are you Ready? Let's go "boom boom taye" ( which means road trip) after childminders days!
I don't know why this image got me crackin perhaps thinking that Sage at 3 is now becoming more explorative and inquisitive! lmao!
Having the thought of putting on his "Kappa" shoes to his teddy which he would call "Kapta" ( for no apparent reason) made me giggle! His innocently cute gestures are sometimes amusing if not annoying!
This teddy is so special to him that he can't sleep without it. So whenever we travel overseas, teddy has to be with him EVERYWHERE! it's his security blanket.

Oh Please, I am a Mom for crying out Loud! In this post, I feel like sharing my "frustration" whenever I came to the realization that my students are not innocent at all!
**Is it really about safe sex or simply not doing the act at all? Jesus Christ, at 14-15? Are you kidding me?
I had my last period with my S5 set3 class. They were still considered band A, meaning academic class so all the while I thought that "an academic" student would be more adept at focusing on his/her studies. To think that their "priorities" must be on how to prepare for their Advanced Level Studies, guess I am the one who innocently thought about them.
I was explaining my lesson and they were pretty much-paying attention to the topic, after which I went around to check their work individually. What caught my attention was one of my girls on her table busy fixing her things.
**Shocked was an understatement! Of all her things, 'that condom stuff surprised me to the hilt! What the heck!
Well even If I got married at 32 and have lived to my principles of only engaging in sexual intercourse with my husband, I am fully aware especially here in Seychelles that chastity entails self-discipline and this may sound so old school but based on the research I did on the Moral Theological Perspective of sexual union, this has to be in the context of marriage! if not in a COMMITTED RELATIONSHIP!

Eventually, I learned how to pay attention to the relaxing beauty of nature facing the ocean while trying my best to work a bit. This is what I call living life to the fullest.

Travelling can truly expand your horizon but it entails "expenses". It means preparations if not thorough consideration of your financial planning.
Travelling for me is "collecting experiences" outside my comfort zone and what I read from books can be truly practised due to my exposure abroad.
Never did I imagine that I can travel during the pandemic and spent my new year alone in the desert likewise having my "ME-TIME" overseas was indeed a paradigm shift. 2022 is giving me a new adventure again with my two boys and we are so excited to have our travel adventure in Mauritius (not in Abu Dhabi this time), practically because it's merely 2 and half hours flight from Seychelles. Close proximity!

Anyways, guys I am looking forward to our holiday and these rupees are so essential as SOV in Mauritius. A Mauritian colleague sold her remaining amount of money to me and I only bought it at 1500SCR!
She had also given me a tip of an additional 300 which I reciprocated with a cellphone holder and a pink bag! Generosity has to be reciprocated. This is always my mantra in life.
Our weekend road trip was quite light-hearted especially when we went to the newly opened shop at Grand Anse. It's a bit far from where we were staying so in case we needed money to go back, it would cost more fuel yet we only have 125scr as spare change and Sage started to ask for juice, milk or anything to eat.
WATER and fruits are always our go-to necessities whenever we went on our family road trip. I prepared enough for the three of us to drink but Sage was so pissed off when he found out that his dad had drunk his water, so he started bubbling (@02:59)

Give Yourself Grace! What are the 10 Things You Have Accomplished?
Lisa Bilyeu, an entrepreneur and a wife inspired me so much with her statement on her successful Women of Impact Youtube Channel whenever she would sign off saying, “Be the Hero of Your Own Life!.” It never occurred to me that being a hero could mean being AUTHENTIC of who you truly are.
Of the 10 Accomplishments, I feel I achieved, #4 is what I feel the most emotional I could think about when Papa passed away last year because of Cancer.
Cancer is deadly. We never thought that my papa would have cancer because when we saw him the last two years, he promised to drive us around when we will visit them again this year. Unfortunately, God has called him earlier.
The Most Challenging Moment was seeing him over a video call after my class and when I told him by heart, "it's okay papa, God has called you HOME!" he passed away in solemnity. It is with steadfast and unwavering faith which helped me survive the mourning process and it is when I truly realized that "life is so UNCERTAIN!"
