X.com - Quest For Monetization (Part V): First Payout!
I received my first payout on X.com, which was $31 for the last two weeks of October (payouts occur every two weeks on X).
Adapting our strategy is crucial after achieving monetization and entering the ad revenue-sharing program.
I've analyzed several accounts that received their first payout, and apparently most low-grade accounts that achieve monetization will initially receive similar amounts.
Monetization requires 5 million impressions in the last 90 days, which contains all of the views our posts and comments made.
We can achieve monetization in less than a month by commenting on top accounts.
However, comments do not count for monetization but only for views of posts that we publish on our profile.
Changes constantly apply to X, and adapting to these changes will crucially impact our revenue.
We have to constantly change our approach to increase our revenue from X.com ads.
First Payout!
$31 wasn't discouraging, but still less than expected to make the time and effort consumed worthwhile.
It's an amount that covers the Premium fee of $11 and leaves a profit (and there are two payouts like this every month).
Some strategies we previously examined do not work anymore as changes constantly apply.
However, as said previously, we have to utilize it to the maximum, whatever we find that works.
When something does not support our cause, we stop doing it.
I multiplied my views on X by 20x within a month, with the approach described in these stories:
However, right after achieving monetization, I stopped commenting on some of the top accounts that others farm for engagement, and my views dropped.
Accounts with hundreds of thousands of followers will post pure spam that makes no sense just to farm engagement:
We should avoid copying what these top accounts do and follow a different path that will work for us.
The top accounts will get the lion's share by doing nothing. They will post spam and farm engagement with nonsense posts and comments.
Instead of copying them, we should try to create decent quality content and bring non-AI-generated information from our experiences and knowledge.
Weekly stats:
Despite my views plummeting, new followers increase rapidly.
Since I (mostly) publish ideas related to crypto, perhaps a new bull run (in 2024?) will also be a contributing factor to "level up" my account.
The new challenge is to convince new (and older) followers to turn notifications on, but that requires delivering quality information (and time).
According to Musk, our comments do not apply to monetization.
So, remember: Posting matters, but replies don't (for the time being).
Besides that, we still have to increase views on our posts, attract new followers, increase profile views (where X places the ads that pay us), and we also have to keep in mind not to lose the 5 million views mark.
Important Recent Changes On X
From the previous stories that contained some tips, some appear not to be working right now.
a) Comments/replies on top of other comments do not get many views lately since X has stopped displaying them on the comments list as it did previously. X decided to change that just days after I gave this tip.
b) Comments will lose their top spot faster than previously.
The order of comments will change more quickly than before, with newer responses appearing at the top and older ones being pushed down rapidly.
c) Likes from premium accounts matter more (no changes there, yet).
Anything we publish (posts or comments) will require likes from Premium members.
Likes from free users also matter but to a much lower degree.
Furthermore, the countless traps from the Twitter days that will lead to lower visibility will always be there. Accounts will get suppressed for stepping on invisible landmines so that we can only guess what we did wrong.
While the top accounts are untouchable, the rest 99% are not.
The opportunities are limited for the rest of the crowd until we significantly and organically increase our followers.
Changes With Premium
X maintained the Premium at $11, but it also added a new rank, the X Premium Plus, at $22,00 per month.
Premium Plus does not contain perks that will assist us in our target.
X will not display ads to Premium Plus users (but it still will when they read the comments section of a post).
Musk also announced xAI-Grok accepts applications from all Premium Plus users without having to wait on a waiting list.
For users who don't require those features, opting for the $11 range would likely be the most suitable option.
In Conclusion
X does not announce important changes that directly impact our impressions and engagement.
My stats dropped after the recent changes, but still, views on my posts have increased.
Previously, we discovered that the time spent reading and watching is also significant, although it's difficult to know exactly what's happening.
We expect the next payout on November 15th and will update on the situation.
If the amount is less than what was expected, we will need to adjust our strategy once more.

Congratulations on your monetization! I've always wanted to be also like this in my social media platforms, but why would I expect? I am not consistent and I don't have a specific system to achieve it. Now, I've got an idea about how monetization on X works.
